  1. How is HK-47 not winning this poll?

    The meatbags must pay!

shall i begin termination, meatb- i mean... master?

No, no, no, you did it all wrong. It should have been

Query: Shall I begin the termination meatb- I mean... Master?

P.S. I had to vote for Jolee, that guy cracked me up, as well as having good depth of personality. HK-47 was a close second though. I think my favorite dialogue has to be the one where his owner tries to kill HK by stabbing him, after HK had carried out his intended, albeit, misunderstood assignment, and the master ended up electrocuting himself.

  2. Don't make the same mistake that you did with Fallout, where you had no romances.

Don't ever call FO or FO2 a mistake. You're just asking for a flame war.

Do it for all the loyal fans out there like me.

If you're this huge, loyal fan, then am I to assume that you've been following this game?

Have you read the FAQ, or Questions to the Devs? Have you even read this thread?

The Dev team said Romances will be in, and furthermore, you will also be able to have non-romantic relationships with the other party members. Obsidian has promised better interaction with your party members.

'Ere 'ere, you tell 'im Ender.

  3. Dereth:

"Does an NPC's opinion of you change according to how you treat him/her? In the original game I could be a jerk to everybody and they all acted like I was going through a phase and ignored it. Since you mentioned that you're effect on someone's dark/light meter was determined by your standing with them would mean that I, as a dark Sith perhaps, could make an NPC go toward the lightside by making them oppose me?"

Yes and maybe. Some NPCs will eagerly follow you down the light and dark paths and others will oppose you if you move to far from their ideal.

What's all this inside information you appear to have Ms. Maria? ;)

  4. Will a demo be released?

That hasn't been decided yet. That would be up to Lucas Arts.

CGW says you'll have 10 npcs to choose from, but it also says that you will get different ones depending if yoru light, dark, male, female....so does that mean there are more than 10 npcs that will join you, in total?

    Yes.

Are there plans to feature space-suit, pressure-suit levels like KOTOR?
  5. Grey:

"The way some people tell it, the bad plot twist, NPC, romance, dialogue, breach of canon, etc, ruined the game in its entirety. It's likely that he's replying to those very same people, and not those who write an eloquent and critical opinion regarding an apsect of the game they didn't like. Logic dictates that he was talking about the former, not the latter, thus your questioning of his logic is illigocal. You questions his conclusions, yet you draw conclusions regarding his intent that likely aren't present."

It is logical to base your questioning on what another has said, not what he might have said or what he might have meant. If I were to do that, I'd be making assumptions about someone that I have little to no experience with and that would be illogical. At no point did I question his intent; rather, I questioned the logic of his statement as it stood. The illogical thing would be to add or subtract from his statement based on what I perceived as his intent

  6. Will you have the ability to make weird ass McGuyver contraptions from ordinary objects?  Like making a runway out of mud, a ski hand hewn out of a log, and a little bit of ingenuity?  Or a stun gun out of a glove some electrical tape, and a disposable digital camera capacitator?  (Okay, the last one was something Kevin Rose did on Unscrewed.  :)  )

    Or a water-hooka out of T3-M4. :D

    Hell yes. :p

  8. Being able to play a "chessmaster" style villain would make Kotor2 perfect. Subtle dialogue choices to guide others into the path that most benefits me.

    Ahhh...

Mission: You'll have to kill me! But I don't think you will.

Revan: No, I'm not going to kill you Mission, but Carth will. He'll think you've joined me and he'll kill you without a thought.

Mission: But... Carth's not like that!

Revan: You think not? He's just abandoned you Mission. Would he have left you if he thought otherwise? He killed his son for being a Sith, what makes you think you'd receive any different treatment?

That kind of thing would've made that whole scene so much better.

    Hell yes. :D

  9. Maria Caliban:

Let me get this straight: if you think one part of a game boring, you must automatically think the game is crappy and not look forward to its sequel? Even if that part is several hours into gameplay? Which would suggest you enjoyed the parts before it.

The way some people tell it, the bad plot twist, NPC, romance, dialogue, breach of canon, etc, ruined the game in its entirety. It's likely that he's replying to those very same people, and not those who write an eloquent and critical opinion regarding an apsect of the game they didn't like. Indeed Mr. Spock. :)

  10. I quite enjoyed the concept of minigames but I was very disappointed with the implementation. PLease. please since these are being included agan can we have individual difficulty settings for them? I want my RPG elements to be tough as nails but as an incompetent twitch gamer I would feel no shame in dialling the swoop racing down to the level of that first race in KotOR. It really frustrates me that I'll never be able to do the Swoop racer sidequest so the opportunity to complete things like that in KotOR2 would be very welcome.

Weenies, I still can't figure out everyone's beef with the minigames, I enjoyed them, and the only one I found even remotely difficult was Pazaak. :)

The turret game was kinda lame though. ^_^

P.S. I haven't seen one post that Darque has made that could be considered utter spam. Maybe humorous, but not spam. Sojiro Seta on the other hand... <_<

  11. The system architecture of the X-Box is considerably different than a PC. It provides great processing and graphics capability for $150. The fact that PC games easily port to the X-Box is a good thing. DirectX is good, solid technology. Does anyone remember the days of 3dFX vs D3D? It was almost like VHS and BETA. I couldn't play one game because of my video card, but I could play another. Standards in technology make it easier for everyone to experience the same product. I think Bill Gates has no respect for the law, and I hate Windows. But, Microsoft produces a few solid products. The X-Box is one of them.

PCs can't produce the gaming power of an X-Box for $150.

Console games don't require patches, because when programming for a console you know EXACTLY what hardware you're dealing with. PC titles must support a variety of technologies. PC games are usually buggy out of the gate.

I love my PC. I upgrade it whenever I can. I spend far too much time on the PC, and not enough time with my girlfriend to be honest.

But the X-Box is not a PC. You can play a game on the X-Box, or a PC. An X-Box is cheaper. Just the same way you can toast a piece of bread in a $10 toaster, or a $100 toaster oven. The toaster oven is more versatile, but the $10 toaster is cheaper and more specialized.

The Phantom console by Infium labs, is a PC. It has a mouse, keyboard, ATI graphics card, and it's a PC. It doesn't take cartridges or discs. It only downloads software from the internet. That my friends, is a PC with it's balls cut off.

You do know the only reason for the low price, is because they eat the price of the hardware by jacking up the price of the software. ;)

Really though, it is a PC. Have you ever heard the review from the head designer of it? It was on Maddox's website for awhile. "Well, I was on a jetliner, playing around with my new laptop my g/f had gotten me, and I thought, what if, we could make a console with the computing power of a PC, but as small as a gaming console?"

Um, that's called a small form factor system, or a notebook you douchebag.

  12. The X-box is a toilet with gamepads. PC and GC all the way.

    Look. I'm really anti-Microsoft.

But, it's hard to hate the X-Box. It has a nicer DVD player than the PS2. It has nicer graphics than the PS2. It ships out of the box with network support, a HDD, and support for four controllers. Graphics are better on the X-Box. It's not huge, but play the same game on the two platforms and you'll notice the difference. (Madden, Baldur's Gate: DA, whatever)

That is called a Small Form Factor COM-PUT-ER. Which the Billy Gates Box is, albeit a proprietary one, that doesn't patch, and has it's balls cut off.

The simple truth to the founding of the Xbox is,

    1. Bill Gates saw that the PC industry was rapidly moving away from Microsoft.

    2. He decided to make something that was a computer, but appealed to console gamers, but would also work with his much of his preexisting resources.

    3. The Xbox is born.

Sadly, as soon as I'm out of my parents house (they have a no console rule), I will probably buy one, along with a Game Cube and PS2. Damn my Gaming addiction. <_<

  13. 1. You find out that the entire galaxy is just a little marble that a giant alien plays around with.

    2. You find out that the entire Star Wars galaxy is actually a TV set, and you go on an epic journey across it, dodging incoming stage lights and random backdrops to try and escape.

P.S. Someone forgot about the reference (not a movie) to the Original Max Payne, the 'You're in a computer game'. That part was awesome.

  14. You can easily turn the Dreamcast into a virtual PC for the express purpose of running emulators on your TV. Been there, done that.

You can also buy a Linux kit for your Playstation that turns the console into a virtual computer.

Kick ass, I had no idea the other consoles were so easily moddable.

I've heard you can add a keyboard and mouse to an out of the box Billy Gates Box, will someone prove or disprove this?

  15. Also, if the thread were easier to read (less cluttered with off topic arguments of which many of are guilty) then perhaps we are more likely to get information from the dev team.

***Whistles innocently and curses Carth and the Onasi Order, walks out of the room.***

P.S. You rock man, I was too lazy to gather up that crapload of info, not to mention it would have been a pain browsing all those pages with my connection speed such as it is.

    JT

  16. But please improve the PC interface.

    SECONDED!

keep in mind guys- we HAVE a keyboard

You know, with a little mickey mousing you can make the XBox into a virtual PC. Without hardly any modding you can add a keyboard and mouse. The only way I'd ever consider getting a console is if I can use a keyboard and mouse on it. ^_^

  17. Indeed, Uthar Wyn was a fine Sith for sure. But he should have seen the betrayal coming, then again, all Sith must die sooner or later. Jergan (I think that as his name, the guy who went crazy in the tomb) was a good Sith as well IMHO. I always love it when they cheat deat.

But as far as overall, I'd have to say Palpantine was the best Sith ever. Think of the control and micro manipulation it must have taken to keep the Empire together all the years that he did with as corrupt a doctrine as they had. Vader wasn't an ideal Sith because he went good at the end; plus he was always being used as a pawn by Palpantine.

  18. I haven't played Max Payne, Deus Ex, or Beyond Good and Evil.

    Starts making notes...

I still haven't played the original Deus Ex, but I have played the sequel, still can't figure out why so many people gave it bad reviews, Xplay gave it a 5/5 if I remember correctly, and I find they're usually dead on; plus I played it and it r0x0red. B)

Ender, you bum, I can't beleive you haven't played Max Payne, the original's only three years old, and the sequel is only just as good as the first. ;)

That's okay though, I still have Planescape: Torment on my to do list.

    Soooo many good games. ;)

P.S. The engine for Max Payne 2 is Havok 2, which only has the most realistic rag doll and enviromental explosions I've seen to date. Sadly, you need a GFX card with at least 132 megs of ram to play it at full settings, just out of reach of my Radeon 9600 XT. :o I can play it with everything except Anti Aliasing on though. :)

P.P.S. Make no mistake though, it will run right decently on a fairly low end system, so even if your system isn't uber 1337, you should still be able to run it. :)
