Actually it's about x-box quite alot and Halo happened to be relavant. The fact is that Gates is looking to squeeze as much money as he can. Not backwards compatible? That's saying you'll have to buy remakes of the same games if you want them on your x-box 2. I used to be a windows fan... Anyway, who do you think is more to blame? LA or Microsoft? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> M$. I can't see any reason for LA to have held it back if that press release Kumquat posted was true. I guess it might have killed their Battlefront sales, but wouldn't it have been more efficient to push back Battlefront since they NEVER said that it'd be released simultaneously? Fact is, Gates has been buying up as many RPG and Sim devs as he can to try and have the Billy Gates Box compete with the PS2. FPS devs are easy to come by, they love cross platform releases.....but RPG devs.... Dammit, there goes my gold star. Ummm, where's the discussion about pirating? I've seen very little. Halo 2 comes out in November...but I've heard all sorts of sctuff about the Billy Gates Box Next not being backwards compatible after all (CRAP!) and that they'd be selling newer ports of all their old titles at full price (DOUBLE CRAP!). It sounds to be the stupidest thing that Mr. Gates could do. But I doubt it's true. I think that Billy Gates Box Next is going to have variable size HDDs, since they're sold separately a la PS2, it's going to support modding, and it's going to be even more PC like than it's predecessor. I mean, that seems to be Billy's goal, stomp out all other competition, even PC, which has been a gaming platform since before any real consoles.

Wow....I would've thought you to be one of the first to run out and buy a Billy Gates Box...what with the username...and your response in the DVD thread.

BTW, I found some interesting stuff the other day when I was looking for X-Box sales numbers on gamespot. Do a search for 'Black Belt Console' (A.K.A. Dreamcast) in their news section....apparently Microsoft wrote the OS for all of sega's consoles, back to their Genesis days.....could this have had something to do with their ultimate failure at selling Console hardware? The Dreamcast was phased out just as the Billy Gates Box was brought in....innnnnnteresting.

LA wants to delay the PC version because Billy paid them big bucks. :ph34r:

A couple major flaws with that screwed up idea. Firstly $$$$$ for x-box just for one game? Secondly, that just be making microsoft richer and leting the ****ers succeed with their god damn scheme. Thirdly, I'm a god damn PC gamer or maybe PS. I'm not able to (or even if I could I wouldn't) get a ****ing x-box. **** this. I think I'm just going to go back to my final fantasy and crap. If this is being done to try to boost x-box sales though, I'd have to say I'd love to see the x-box sales boycoted for a while... About us being whiny, as some say, some of our reasons are this. The PC players consistantly get the short end of the stick here..., we've been lied to. If they had announced the pc was 4 months later in release a long time ago (instead of the shorter 2 months), we all would have said..."that sucks, but oh well". Now they're doing this for unknown reasons and we have really been lied to. They get us excited only to dissapoint us. All the assurence we've had is for nothing. Meh, I still don't think we have the whole story, nor that we're ever going to get it. But nothing new's being said. I said all of the above in the last thread on this topic though with a more vehement tone to my wording. <_<

Well, you know how Half Life 2 has already gone Gold even though it hasn't been released? A game goes Gold often times before release, in fact, alot of the time it has alot to do with when they set the release date. They see preorders as sure sales, even though they CAN be pulled. But when a game sells enough units, don't remember exactly how many, it 'goes gold'. KotOR2 has already gone Gold IIRC, and if enough people pull preorders, it should, theoretically go 'un-Gold' though I don't think that's EVER happened in the history of video games....it would be pretty awesome if it did though. :D Doing both sure can't hurt though....maybe if we spread it to other forums and even gaming news sites as well....it sure would be cool to set history that way. :D

Correct on all points..EXCEPT: Revan already had his robes on Dantooine. The Star Forge doesn't make anything of it's own. It's only a giant replicator that makes things out of raw 'Star' material and Dark Side energy. You still have to supply it with something to copy.

I've already posted this in both the Release Date poll thread, and the original 'The It Sucks Thread'; but the more people who read it the better in my mind.

Okay, I've now changed my stance. Coming to the realization that there's next to no way we can get the release date for either platform changed; by all means, get it when it comes out...but in the meantime... PULL YOUR PREORDERS!!! In my mind, there is no better way to get the point across then to screw with their projected sales numbers, you'll still get your game at the same time, possibly earlier since that way you don't even have to wait for shipping. Wouldn't it be lovely to see the game go 'Un-Gold' before whatever schmuck's eyes lied to the gaming community all this time?

Spellmar says: you're, sucks, you're Now that that's out of the way, so long as you have no problem with corporate corruption, by all means, go ahead and support Lucasarts, Microsoft's, and (possibly) Obsidian's false press coverage at least, (but possibly before), E3. If you're going to still buy it, the least you can do is pull all your pre-orders in the mean time. That hurts no one, except Lucasarts projected sales. In fact, more than likely, you'd get you game early, as you wouldn't have to wait for shipping. Does no one else see this logic?
