hmm well I think I'll have a look at it then .. I've only heard praise, modest praise, but still good reviews nonetheless..

when you learn German, in another country, it's very important to learn the system first .. since it will be very different from yours! then you learn to pronounce and form more advanced sentences, using the rules you learned to death earlier.. that's how we do it here, and we are neighbours to Germany .. so you probably have to do it a little harder..

Is Syberia I and II worth the pruchase? I usually love adventure games .. Longest Journey was great! but I tried the Demo to Syberia, which was the first 20 minutes I think, and the game seemed very boring, few puzzels and little to do.. so I just avoided it! But now I'm thinking I should give it a try .. anyone played it who can give me some advice?

I just hate it when the whole "racial slur" problem get's outta hand .. I mean when it becomes insulting to adress someone by their nationality you know it has gone too far!

I view it more like paying for a room in a hotel for instance .. the more you pay the more you get! it's not like robbery because you get something in return .. of course the less you pay the less service you get, and you have to eat out or go somewhere else for breakfast etc.

depends on where you live I think .. I'm guessing it's US since you use dollars .. but compared to Danish prices that's a fair amount, and you could probably get 500 for it here! but I don't know your prices ..

yeah I do the exact same.. but I usually speak with a 'normal' british accent .. to add to what Lucius said, English is mandatory from 4th grade here (when the child is 10) but they are considering starting it from 3rd, which I think is a good idea.. and German is mandatory from 7th grade and then you can change to Spanish or French in 9th grade .. although you can still keep German if you want! So everyone in Denmark speaks english .. there are very few who are unable to formulate themselves!

I'm sure we chose this particular way of doing things because it's easier .. we don't have to worry about paying too little or too much .. again it's about danish mentality! we are luxusbeings who don't like to worry too much! and if such things are handled for us, and the onyl thing we have to do is pay taxes .. well then that's preferable!

We should also mention the rather high taxes on goods .. A new car here costs from 50.000 - several millions, depending on brand and quality .. where much of the price goes to the goverment.. and there's an added 25% purchache tax on everything you buy - called Moms (meaning "added value tax") so cigaretes cost 31 kr .. and liqour around 100 kr .. all prices mentioned in KR (where 5,7 kr is 1 dollar) and it's much more in Sweden and Norway .. at least for liqour and smokes!

I would gladly give my money (and do) to save another humanbeings life! and while I'm trying to respect the opinions of others .. I always think it's terribly inhuman to want lower taxes just to save some money rather than save anothers life..

not until they actually respect human rights .. but the moment they do the door is open!

the funny thing is .. that Social Democracy wouldn't work in USA .. just as their system wouldn't work here! simply because you need the foundation for it! USA was founded by people who made their own fortunes .. in a country that was constantly changing and evolving you don't have room to sit back and take care of everyone, their devolpment would've come to a standstill .. so that's why they have this particular believe today "the American dream"! (at least I imagine) and the northern countries have developed a more socialistic approach, because we are all old farmer and worker countries .. and when democracy came, so did the unions etc .. and the whole "I'll scratch your back and you'll scratch mine" was already deeply rooted in our mentality! but so was the Jante-law .. each system works in it's country because they have both the moral and cultural background to support it..
