It's a remake of a Danish film "Nattevagten" (same name), which is infinitely better.. they haven't captured the creppy feeling at all, they turn it into a kind of action-thriller which it wasn't supposed to be at all.. true hollywood for you!

Prince of Persia Warrior Within and Evil Genius love the combat system in PP and EG is just hilarious..

you just run close to them with a cavalry unit and they start chasing, then you front attack them with some heavy infantry! and when they have discarded their spears for small swords - you charge home with horses..

sounds interesting nonetheless.. Any idea what they are planning on doing after MTW2? maybe a new Shogun?

hell yeah! I played that alot on my old Amiga 500! ^_^ that dragon was a bitch to kill..

but they aren't really that difficult either .. (an entire army of them supporten by good cavalry and Cretan Archers would probably persuade me otherwise! :ph34r: ) if the AI could control them better and actually use Greek tactics .. then they would be a fearsome enemy!

hmm .. The whole colonization part is a tricky thing imo .. and not really fit for a TW game, since it's more combat based and not strategy in that regard (like Europa unniversalis).. They would need to implement a kind of attrition system (or a time limit), otherwise defeating the natives would be too easy! you could just conquer all of Europe (or most anyway) and then flood The New Wolrd with troops..

Phalanx are pathetic imo .. unless you play them! they are easily flanked and moved down .. by both infantry and especially horses (with whom you can break them quickly if you take'em down from all sides)

I've always found Brutii by far the easiest to play .. you get so incredibly wealthy, plus all the wonders of the world are within your reach! Julii are easier from a strategical point of view though, as their enemies are far less of a challenge..

They are actually remaking one of my favorite games - Medieval Total War Alpha Centauri - same story, but with CIV 4 graphics and more complex (must be my nr1 wish) Freespace 1 & 2 - with a more complex and deep storyline .. and an actual ending! Masters of Orion - properly this time! (but Galatic Civ 2 is close enough to be a mild substitute) System Shock 2 - now there's a psychological thriller for ya! Theme Hospital - just for laughs.. ^_^

I can never muster the will to kill those things.. they look so cute .. even if they have totally wrecked every eletrical wire in sight I still let them go.. but good on ya Lucius, I know how hard they are to catch (especially with your hands), so that's actually quite a feat!

well it does limit your ability to use the air in your lungs.. so in effect you are actually mildly suffocating yourself, that usually calms people down (a mild lack of air)..

how about some Zerowing .. "all your base are belong to us" - miditunes? that has to be ultimate geeky?

or save an infinite amount.. who knows.. I would like to state that I definitely support pro-choice.. But I would prefer women to give their babies up for adoption, if they themselves feel they are unfit to raise children or provide a proper home.

I'm a smoker.. And I can fully support laws that prohibit smoking in public, but in no way should it interfere with a persons private life or property.. that's going way too far imo! I'm against a total ban in public though, an owner of an establishment should be allowed to make rooms in his resturant available for smokers, if s/he pleases.

I also meant it as a worst case scenario .. but of course, it wasn't mean as any kind of proof that totalitarian goverments are bad.. they just usually are! What I meant was.. what kind of attitude is that? you are thereby disregarding some of the greatest books ever written.. with themes and ideas, very much relevant today!

I just hate the fact that Barbarians rise from the rubble with 3-5 pretty decent armies .. they can really cause havok! <_< But it's a challenge and that is a good thing.. I'm big fan of this game, so this thread is really interesting.. I've never played many Mods though (except for Total Realism which Mus? suggested once) .. are there any new ones out there, which spice things up? should just mention that my biggest beef with TR was the unbalance of the Mod, I would usually be either too powerful or too weak.. (can't remember which factions were which though).. so I would really love a realistic, balanced and fun mod to play .. no matter the content.. Hope you can help!

In a perfect world, where people don't misuse power, I would be all for these kinds of acts.. but we don't live in a perfect world, and democracy is a fragile thing.. Siphoning power from the people upwards to politicians is generally a bad idea, the more you concetrate power the more corrupt a system will be. This has been proven many times over, and I don't trust the leaders of today to be more virtuous than their predecessors..
