On it's own - and out of context .. that's a actually a funny statement. - I'm more interested in why the figure matches the "Troubled Asset Relief Program" - maybe someone wants to further distabalize the banking sector?

Anyone played it yet? (linky) It suffers from some rather annoying issues (irrelevant and atmosphere-breaking minigames), but overall it's actually a pretty cool game.. It's the first time I've actually felt like an unstoppable supervillian/anti-hero in a game - and it's absolutely amazing to cause utter and complete chaos and destruction to military and infected foes alike - which you do all the time.. Imagine a playground city like in the GTA series, with a dash of Assassins Creed (with all it's great and annoying parts) and a character which is kinda like a mix of Hulk and Venom. Without getting into a lengthy review I'll say that they've done a few interesting things - if you consume certain people (they will be marked by an icon), who know pieces of what is happening to you and the city, a short movie will play - much like in Mass Effect when you get subjected to the Prothean beacon - which adds small pieces to the bigger puzzle.. You also get points, from destroying, consuming and completing missions, which you need to spend on new powers, but there are so many tools of destruction and combinations of moves that even if you only had half of them you would still feel like a total bad-ass killing machine. The powers are balanced well enough and you need to use different strategies for different situations and having such a big arsenal at your disposal makes you feel well-equipeed for any situation. And this plays well into the overall feeling of unstoppable monster mayhem. The background is clich

What car would you like to have if you could pick anyone
Rosbjerg replied to Nihilus5078's topic in Way Off-Topic
I think that was his point. Those cars don't encourage responsible driving Yes, exactly. And every young person is a terrible driver. You will think you are a great driver, but if you survive into your mid-twenties, you will look back on that time and realize you were dumb. Amen.. I was never a fast driver (I hate speeding), but I made some stupid decision due to inexperience.. Still do actually.. Which is why I prefer my bike. -

Something like this I guess.. I really like the aesthetics of antique cars. -
Orange Death Pop, Jelly Dance Techno and Vertical Limbo Jazz to name a few..

On the bright side, the next generation will be so fed up with the lack of original ideas that we will see nothing but completly new and probably uninteresting ideas for a few years - only to have the next generation continue the cycle and remake the old "original" ideas in "better" and "smarter" ways.. I call it -= The Hollywood Food-Chain =-

It's great they release the tools, but a shame that you have to depend on user content to enjoy the vanilla game.. but that's really the case for a lot of games I think - I can't play any of the Total War games or Mount and Blade without mods.. Still I think it's great that mods can extent the lifetime of games several years and I think it's extremely interesting that this trend is growing. Also - The Settler is absolutely great - it does feels a little artificial at times, but it's fun to build a thriving village! I've already got a small community going with hunters looking for food and builders expanding the village..

The site is horribly slow and buggy - but wow, interesting idea! I gave up on Fallout initially, but this thread inspired me to give it another go (and install a bunch of mods) and I must say I'm having a great time with it actually.. I got all the expansions too and that was a good idea (Broken Steel especially since it allows you to continue playing and see the changes you made come to life). The mods I've installed are: CALIBR FOOK (str requirements, tougher enemies, Owned, Additional Armor Training) Enhanced Weather Galaxy News Radio mod UPP (perk mod, really cool) Slower Degradation (80%) Tchos Vault 101 sealed Wing (gives you a part of V101 as personal residence) Some hair and eyes mods Better Butler mod (plastic surgery etc) Fellout Project Beauty - Trying the Settler Mod now..

is pretty nice - I've played that a few times, it's a GTA/Ninja-ish game..

But the Zombies in Left4Dead aren't really trying to eat people in the first place.. they just want to beat you to death..

Funny how if the game had been made in Europe it would've been the other way around..

That argument gets used to much.. In my experience with sales, it's easier to sell two halfsized boxes of cookie at 15 rather than one big for 30. So I definitely think they are gonna hurt their product with this.

I had a pretty unnerving experience just now.. I was happily swimming in the radioactive waste around Rivet city when this girls swam over to me and started asking difficult questions.. The spooky part was her head kept rotating while she was talking..

Wacky indeed .. I like how it's over the top in a way that works rather than just being silly. I'll keep my eye on this one.

What if we found a link between playing violent games and a substanial risk for later developing violent behaviour (say like 1 in 100).. Would you still play violent games? I don't know where I stand on this issue to be honest.. I enjoy playing games like GTAIV etc and would hate for some politicians to take that away, but when I speak to 12-16 year olds who play these games - I'm worried what impact it has on them.. if it really does desensitizes them/us/me to violence..

Especially seeing as the were still at war..

Looked like they nailed it setting wise again.. the swamps of southern America would be a very cool place to explore in a post-apotalyptic world (has it even been done before?), but I have to say that I don't see anything interesting beyond that.. just the PC shooting 3 different enemies in various ways.. Boring trailer really..

The Queen.. that would be awesome - we could have a Monarch smackdown, where the different Eurpean royalties fight for their countries over seats in the parlement..
-
Grr.. need to beat up someone at Valve for making this so frustrating!

While I agree that it should've been released as DLC at a lower cost I will still argue that L4D in it's current shape, to me, feels like a very polished and thought-out-game.. a rough calculation tells me I've spent about 1$ pr hour I've played so far - and that was more than worth it!
-
I think the strength of L4D is it's decivingly simple gameplay - introducing rpg elements and/or customizable characters/weapons would take away from the core of the game, which imo is "work together or die" .. if I'm more concerned with unlocking "cool ability n#12" than helping my team, then I would be worried that the basis of the game dissapears - and L4D would be reduced to yet another online shooter, where people aren't working together and just try to get the highest score (like the worst Versus game).. That's what I find so facinating about this game - you are forced to work together with strangers, who seems familiar due to the recognizable avatars of Zoey, Francis, Bill and Louis.. And I would hate for Vavle to compromise that simple, but genius, gameplay element. But the idea of permanent injuries (at least until you get to a safehouse or you find some special medkit) is a very cool idea and so is barricading/fusing doors (even if does rip off Killing Floor a bit). I agree completly!

Now if they had taken the approach.. I would've been estatic!

Wow.. great news!
