My bad, I should have been more precise - the kind of drm I talked about here was more like SecuROM, limited activations etc. While Steam is technically a piece of drm it has become so much more. Steam is a good example of creating value rather than restrictions - I'm totally onboard with Steam because I can see what my friends are buying, it's easy to join their games, it can be very cheap and it gives me the option to manage my games much more efficiently than having them on a shelf.. It's an example of the producer attacking pirates without hurting their customers. I bought Assassins Creed from Ubisoft and the game couldn't run until they released a patch .. why? because I had virtual disc. Now that's a clear example of bad business strategy. Luckily for them the game was good enough for me to buy the second game - but the second game wasn't good enough for me to buy the next 2.. so they effectively lost a customer because of their strategy. See, if you make customers annoyed your games have to be that much better for them to stay around and as soon as the quality drops, your customers go away too - while if you add value to your game, by supporting modders or making it nice and easy to update etc etc then people feel respected and stay around after a bad game.

It's always a sign that you need to agree on definition when you end up discussing the analogy rather than the issue.. so, for me piracy is producer problem that only affects the end user in the second degree, in that it takes away revenue and thus inflates prices etc - it's never a a direct problem, ie theft from the consumer.. Now my problem with DRM is that it's an attempt to address a producer problem by enforcing regulation on the consumer, which to me is the wrong approach. I don't know if that makes sense, I find it difficult to express this in English right now

Your example doesn't work, drm is not there to prevent me from stealing your game - if we use cars as an example, it's more like a carlock installed on all cars, that in some cases prevents legitimate buyers from using the car, because the manufacturer has a problem with people breaking in at the factory.

Well why have drm then, if it's still and issue with or without? Especially as a large majority of your paying customers find it annoying. If piracy is always going to be an issue then you need to figure out how to get people to buy the product rather than prevent pirates - create loyal customers and regular and good updates that are downloaded easily through the game - that way pirates have to separately download and install all the juice while it's just easy sailing for the paying crowd.. You are not gonna combat piracy by alienating yourself from the people providing your income.

No, can they be bought on an X-box? if so I might actually buy them for my friend so I can play them heh.

Don't forget ally and close friend when the real enemies come knocking. - I think it's more complicated than that.. I know some who have no problem pirating films but find it horribly to pirate games.

She can crawl on ceiling though, but the inability to break weapons is definitely a disadvantage. But so far in the beatdown challenges I've gotten over 124000 points with Catwoman while my top with Batman is around 80000 so I think she's easier.

I've had the store page tell me that a product I have on my wishlist is on sale .. I'll do a screenshot dump next time I see it.

I tried it on a console in a shop - I fairly liked the original but after about 15 minutes I stopped the game and I've never even considered going back.. it felt bland and boring.
-
You can add a game to your wishlist and then Steam will tell you when it's on sale.

Nightwatch was a somewhat successful attempt at making a Danish thriller movie.

It's a very light game.. I play it with a friend who really enjoys hack'n'slash and levelling up. I however find it's a little too hollow to hold my interest for long. But the current price is very fair.

Otherwise my story would've had a very different angle.. Yeah he escaped without a scratch, he was just a bit dazed after rolling 5-6m.

Hmm that could be worth a shot - of course it would rather have 5 minutes alone with the guy/gal in a room without cameras. Hah, yeah - my bike is old, rusty and looks like it's gonna fall apart - that little piece of jewlery was worth about 10x the market price for the bike so obviously it was a smart thief.
-
Oh I wish - I would have had a chance it I was simply being mugged.. a guy was hit by a car not 500m from the shop, I rush out to help him out, leaving my bike alone - when I get back 3 minutes later someone had taken the bag from the bike..

Bought a custommade necklase for my girlfriend today .. 20 minutes later it's stolen from me.. fml..

^ I just got a 93000+ score in a combat challenge.. I feel good.. When you get the hang of it then it takes about 15+ guys with rifles, knives and titan freaks to even pose a threat.

Well my trip to India was actually research for a book (although I did participate in some fund-raising while there to help build hospitals and schools).. However for actual humanitarian work I volunteered 2 years at a rehab back here in ol' Denmark. Also I think you should indeed go to Africa - both a safari and humanitarian.. The women had been in contact with a politician from the party and had given examples of her life - like how she had to borrow money to buy shoes and medicine for her son etc.. but when journalists dug through her budget it became apperant that she used over 600$ for dog food, cigarettes and a cell phone subscription.. Now if smoking is more important than shoes for your son then it's not poverty that your problem, it's stupidity. Incidentally his medicine was for asthma (perhaps related to her smoking in the first place?)..

Elevator to a orbiting station and then solarpowered slingshots in space.. Saves on fuel.

I've been facepalming the last couple of days.. Our resident center-left political party wanted to highlight poverty in Denmark and choose an example that not only destroyed their point but made it impossible to discuss this issue in the foreseeable future. They chose a woman who had more than 3.000$ monthly (after taxes) which she receives in government welfare, not only is that not poor, it's actually a lot better than what most 40 hours workers get. So now we have actual poor people (with less than 200$ a month in one of the most expensive countries in the world) being ridiculed because "their" party is full of idiots..

Maybe we should open an extra "The embarrassing thread" then? It wasn't a critique of you.. I'm glad you shared it otherwise I wouldn't have seen it, I was just appealed.

That's not funny that's just embarrassing..
