Friendly Aura - v3.05.1186
Nail replied to Nail's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I wonder why there is no attention to this problem from technical support... or PoE I is not supported anymore? -
Backer Portal Is Up
Nail replied to Katarack21's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
You need to log into the backer portal on Obsidian's website and confirm all your stuff there first before your badges will show up. Mine didn't show up either until I had done that. Oh, thanks! -

Am I'm the only one without imported bage, yet? -
Please don't throw rocks at me, but Dungeons and Dragons Online, last time I've played (30.07.2011 ) had (or has) great pvp mode. I would love something like this in PoE II or any other Obsidian product that will be on same engine as PoE II (or better) Also, it would be awesome if there will be character export / import option as we saw in BG1 - BG2. For me that awesome experience to complete Baldur’s Gate + Tales of the Sword Coast with all nooks and crannies to make my perfect character for Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn. I see the same potential for PoE II : Deadfire, at least the talents: Blooded Hunter Dozens Luck Dungeon Delver / Wild Running Effigy's Resentment (various options) Flick of the Wrist Gift from the Machine Scale-Breaker Second Skin / The Merciless Hand / Mob Justice Song of the Heavens It's very interesting how Obsidian will implement transition from PoE I to PoE II : Deadfire If the keep is destroyed there is a possibility, that your items are gone with the keep, but what about talents... Soul cleansing to wipe all of them or something like that?

I guess it's about <5% of overall Pillars players who would like duels.

Well, i guess no one here would throw you to the pit for having such unfulfilled dreams. It's only natural. I have some, too. It must be the same for many others. I know it can be frustrating. But while it's possible to argue about design decisions at the current development stage, it's way more difficult when it comes to hard coded features like multiplayer. I guess all we all say is that having it in Pillars 2 is pretty much impossible for various reasons. But Inxile decided to introduce co-op multi in Wasteland 3 since the very start. You should advocate for multiplayer being introduced in a future, more combat-oriented, more budgeted Pillars game. Inxile showed it's always allowed to dream. You should just chose the right moment to fight for multi . I genuinely wish you good luck. Wasteland 2 was ok, with several unpleasant bugs, still a nice game. But I've never played it after coming to LA. Weird - no willing to end the game. Wasteland 3 feels like Fallout: Tactics, and saying of which - MP experience was not interesting.

I must admit, it's my unfulfilled dream: I've always wanted to compete party vs party or one on one in any AD&D game series. It's something that was poorly, but implemented in Neverwinter Nights 2 Storm of Zehir, so I thought something like that would be fine with Pillars. Offtop: fig.co update a bit more baker effort for the sea monsters!

When there is an option to co-op you still can play with your friends, no need to play with randoms. I'm just telling - nothing bad in co-op, it was in every D&D game cause of the legacy - playing table games with friends. I guess most of us have already paid for Pillars II DLC, for a game that should come out in a year, so I see nothing wrong to make same thing for co-op / duel / arena Pillars II DLC. If you don't want it - just don't buy it. This simple poll shows that some of Pillars players care for such thing, but it's the minority.

I'm talking about expansion duel / arena mode, not the current budget - I would pay for it. Since it should not intend story line - therefore has no influence on those, who are not intersted such experience. I'd buy such expansion for myself. It's not hard even for a single C# programmer to write such mod during one year to make it good. (avarage salary 70k USD per year)

Even if it's only 5% of all PoE I / PoE II players - in numbers it's kinda 5% of 4.550.000 = 227.500 USD for a simple arena mode. And why not Obsidian?

Right now PoE I has good ballance. Any character is able to complete it solo and that's a sign. MP / Duel ballance should not be significative for the storyline, it should be just for fun.

Play it again. Seriously. There's a game I love called Castle of the Winds. Windows tile-based Roguelike that was released in 1992. I have played this game from start to end literally several *thousand* times. I play it *ALL* the time. I stopped playing it when I got a 64 bit system because it won't run, and it makes me sad that I can't. Roguelike games share infinite replayability cause of random generated layout.

All great singleplayer games share same destiny. Just think about - what will you do when there is nothing to achieve in the game you like, when you would like to spend more time, but you know every nook and cranny... At that stage game begin to be boring. Yes, if it was an interesting game - it will stay in your memory for a lifetime. But such games can be compared to a good book, just with scripted interactions leading to certain conclusions. Why not to make a book / game you can read / play again and again with the same zeal? My thought one can be with an option to compete with somebody, to show your superiority, with competetive spirit. This is more then just duels / MP - it's the end game content, which could be based on these features or something around that. I'm talking about interaction / fun. Why not to make it like Card hunter for instance, but using Unity 5.0+ engine? Right now, looking at PoE I - it's hard to do interesting video footage highlight, even reaching "The Ultimate", cause almost nobody cares. For me it's top notch to compete with equal passionate player, but when it's not an option - it makes me sad. No need to do MMO, just some kind of arena mode to prove your superiority, not only via forum threads.

Arena mod can't hurt anybody. Moreover I would pay for it. All they have to do is character transition like in BG2 and some instance for 2+ players. There could be no pause system - in this case intelligent AI scripts could be handy (like in DA:O)

Ok, I see where it's going. Here is an example - I've completed PoE I "the ultimate" - I have nothing to do. Game is good, but no reason to spend more time in it. I would really like to duel guys who know the game.

Hello everyone! I've tried to pass question about multiplayer / co-op / pvp on Twitch streams / Twitter / Forum while crowdfunding was a thing (not counting slacker baker), but every time my question was ignored. For me it's clearly that Obsidian don't want to do this, and that's a pity! Baldur's Gate 1-2, Icewind Dale 1-2, Neverwinter Nights 1-2 - they had Co-op / MP Those are cult games for me, nostalgia and, maybe, the reason why I play PoE. I recall Storm of Zehir with pvp arena, clunky, but you could try out builds and duel with your buddies, and that was awesome. We will have ships, design etc., but nobody will see them except you or your Twitch / YouTube viewers (I have doubts) Then why there is no option to fight with somebody via exported characters from the game using your ship? That would be so cool. PoE II: Deadfire intend to be such a masterpiece, but why cutting a good bunch of possible fun / replayability (trying out new builds / making better character)? I don't get it - is it narrow vision or just no time to implement? Please vote, it means a lot to me to understand if I'm not the only one with such thoughts. Maybe this poll will have some influence on Deadfire devs (I have serious doubts)

Thanks for the answers, - Not my luck with Rymrgand's Mantle. - Not my luck with Plate at Raedric's Hold Raedric's Hold stashes. It's possible to kill Temple Guardian though 1vs1. Checked Plate armor protects better then Scale armor cause of DR (what is weird as Scale is supposed to protect better from freeze). Sequence: There are 4 Phantoms Cornering myself = 2 enemies attacking, Shade and Phantom. Eventually Phantom dies, so does the Shade due Carnage One Phantom comes for a fight and eventually second one emerges. 2 Phantom hitting me = death being stunned almost all the time. So I'm about this Stunned affliction - I guess, is way OP. When it's 20 Mig / 25 Con Here are the stats: http://prntscr.com/eksve8 level 5 character vs level 3 Phantom still stunlock - that's wrong. Here is the stat roll: http://prntscr.com/eksxjh They Graze, but still stun... even with such high Fortitude for this area. Can't do it manly way, still trying my luck with Fortitude rolls RNG, possibly will do it. It's a sad story, and never "very easy for a barbarian" I guess it may be possible 1 out of # tries, but it's even not Trial of Iron... Done stealth strategy via rogue, but without summon as a distraction - probably the best way. Inventory: Hermit's Hat Torc of the Falcon's Eyes Minor Ring of Protection Minor Ring of Deflection Blunting Belt / possible change to Belt of Bountiful Healing, but it's not helping against Stunned. Minor Gauntlets of Accuracy Fulvano's Boots Scale armor - fine, +1 Dex Whispers of Yenwood - fine, burning lash Scale armor could be +1 Mig, but there is no Binding Copper to make it. Still I don't think +1 Mig will seal the deal. Talents: Bear's Fortitude Veteran't Recovery Abilities: Blooded Savage Defiance Frenzy Bonuses: Rautai Sweet Pie Pearlwood Chicken Dyrwood's Pride Resting Bonus Racial Accuracy Resting Bonus: Spirit

Hi everyone, Found it impossible to pass solo Barbarian PoTD - Caed Nua main hall cause of Spectre stunlock. Tried every build there may be. Reached level 5 - the maximum I could do through game content till Caed Nua. http://imgur.com/UM35sq0 As you can see there is almost maximum constitution and freeze damage reduction. Still Spectre stunlock and there is no way to deal with it. I've tried to raise deflection to 90 with small shield (+mastery), but it's the same stunlock. One handed mastery to hit them (they have Def.:71) - Animat from Bronze Horn Figurine dies after 10 seconds. - Fireball trap just tickles spectres. - Can't use scrolls, cause of stunlock. - Food applied. - Potions of Wizard Double / Mirrored Image almost useless too. - Potion of Bulwark Against the Elements just prolongs this suffering a bit. I've done this in v3.05.1186 with wizard (The Ultimate) and rogue... can't make it with barbarian though. http://steamcommunity.com/id/Perebor/ I can't find info regarding status "Stunned" - is it fortitude or will saveroll? Have anyone done this on these settings? (PoTD solo Barbarian) Any tips?

I've done as a tribute for PoE before Deadfire comes out. Surely, NPC are written the way they add some content (dialogs, quests, reactions etc.), but the game is pretty simple with 1+ man party, except some moments like Llengrath fight due to total RNG. -

Friendly Aura - v3.05.1186
Nail posted a question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I've noticed a thing: if a character with friendly aura item / talent gets dominated / charmed the friendly aura spreads on enemies, what is totally fine, cause you're their "friend" for the time duration of domination / charm But what is not ok is that friendly aura stays on the enemies after you are no longer dominated / charmed Why is that? -
