Bastila Shan vs Anakin Skywalker
Influence replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
thats not what you jsut said "I think that the reason why Anakin was so strong in the Force so that he could restore the LS to its previous state, but obviously the plan backfired." EDIT: I must admit this is a very good thread, even if i thought the question was ridiculous at first, and kinda still do -

I think you are wrong, I think ANakin brigning Balance back to the force was destined to Diminish the Light Side who had reigned over the DS for many generations. THe Jedi merely misinterprteted the prophecy and thought balance in the force would be beneficial to the LS rather than the equally of teh D and L sides. EDIT: Form this perspective teh prophecy was fulfilled and techniqully Anakin was not a failure and did his job. -

FL.. techniques would be lost because perhaps a techinique that only a few Jedi knew, would be lost when both the master and Apprentice die...as for the overall power of the Jedi declining.. i already addressed that. -

i cant say i truly agree with you, becaseu its hard to really compare Jedi untill they reached theri full potential everyone learns at a differetn rate, well at least that was what my eigth grade teacher told me when i got held back for four years straight... EDIT: Besides, like i said Anakin had more potential and that POTENTIAL does not get tapped until Ep 3.... Since we do not know what Bastilia's full potentoal would be.. this is not a very fair comaparison now is it? -

still...When he first became Darth Vader he must have been strogner than he was in the original trilogy. -

exactly my point. all you have to do is look at the fight scene between Obi Wan and vader in ANH. Its liek two 95 year old fighting for the last beano pill... slow and boring. Obi wasnt even trying and vader was, but Obi probably still was relatively weak because I would assume he lost touch with the force as well seeing he became a hermit. -

<{POST_SNAPBACK}> I assume Vader would be out of practise for a time period until he faced Luke. He had killed almost all of the Jedi before (so he wouldn't need to train any longer) Plus he could easily handle those Imperial offices :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not to mention Vader was beaten by his son, who was barely a jedi and was not too impresive with his saber OR his force powers. He obviously was not as strong as he was when he first turned to teh Dark Side, he was out of practice and lost touch with the force MUCH LIKE THE MAIN CHAR IN K2!!!!! THis is merely a microcosm for the jedi order losing touch with the foce due to teh same circumstances! However, liek I said i beleive Anakin would be able to beat Bastilia in a fight. Bastilia is strong but she was not even as strogn as Malak and Malak was not even as strong as Revan! Revan could beat Anakin perhaps, but not Bastilia -

the order itself was out of practice -

I have to agree unfortunately with Nur Ab on one poitn here, whether he wants me too or not. The Jedi would not neccessarily become strogner with time. Mass killings of Jedi would explain some loss of abilities, and the absence of sith would explain the Jedi's losing connection to the force, it was unbalanced, and the Jedi order may have become rusty over time creating a slower flow of the force. Due to the lack of their enemy, the sith. They were out of practice. THerefore it can be accepted that the Jedi were more powerful durign the KOTOR time period. As i presume it is specifically stated in the EU. However, for Bastillia and Anakin, to fight, would have to be in the same time period, and the force would be flowing through them at the same rate, therefore Anakin, having what i would consider more potential, would defeat Bastilia. Also i woudl like to Apologize to GoA, i was drinking -

Is suddently the word Sith used too much??
Influence replied to DSLuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
sith is beign used much more, especially in KOTOR BECASUE THAT IS THE TIME WHEN TEHY WERE MSOT ACTIVE! We didnt here about them in the old movies becasue they were nto abundant, So when the Sith appeared and took a large role in TH phantom menace, some poeple were liek "whats is this why are all these sith poppin up?" Cause up untill then the Sith were believed to have died off. In the Kotor Game teh sith are of main importance becasue of the time period. -
After reading this you see that the reasosn against more than 20 levels are stronger

Do you want Star Wars RPG games to keep on coming?
Influence replied to DSLuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
"It woudl be possible to make a very good game aobut a non jedi or sith.. but there would have to be no other Jedi or Sith in the game in which case it would be more like a regular RPG that just happens to take place in the Star wars galaxy." Yeah thats wat i said you little punk! "The only people it won't appeal to are these kids that can't play any game where they're not some unstoppable god with superpowers." IS taht what your sayign KOTOR is simply because it has Jedi and Sith in it with force powers? If so why are you playing biznatch" -

No GoA young completely wrogn stop being stupid! A non-Jedi Rpg woudl not capture the heart of fans and players becasue why would you want to wield a mere blaster and have no special techniques while your opponents are swinging green and red lightsabers at you and choking you to death. And if there were no Jedi or Sith in the game period it would still be bad becasue well.. it just wouldnt be star wars. Not to say that the game Couldn't work, but the gameplay, grpahics and story line would have to be flawless, and if they are gonna be flawless, why not put jedi in to make it even better!? It woudl be possible to make a very good game aobut a non jedi or sith.. but there would have to be no other Jedi or Sith in the game in which case it would be more like a regular RPG that just happens to take place in the Star wars galaxy. It woudl be as if Marvel or D.C. comics created a "super hero" without super powers that just watched tv all day and got into friendly disagreements with his boss. But one day, he makes a citizen's arrest on an 11 year old kid that was shop lifting a donut. Rather read about that than an alien from Krypton that can melt steel with his eyebals or a group of mutants with super human powers. ACtually it think your right a comic about a guy who is 45 years old , that lives in his mom's basement and belongs to the neighborhood watch is MUCH more interesting. <_< *waits to get peed on by GoA" -
ok what if you coudl choke your NPC's when they back talk to you or give em a lil lighting shock, eventually turning them to the DS and having them be your stooges. -ALthough teh repercusssions of theis would probably mean an almost complete split from the Lightside story line, but maybe not. It woudl also be neat if you could take out soem towns people and force information of of them by strangling them or torturign them or theri family if your DS, or doing them a favor such as licking their kitchen clean with your tongue and then watering their flowers as LS.

More character creation diversity
Influence replied to The Agro Crag's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
yeah but they shoudl also alow tatoos, but not in teh beggining of the game. Perhaps when you reach a certain point in teh Dark side you go to the sith academy or base and can select some tatoos or piercings. ANd i agree i should not only be able to pick a face, but a hairstyle and a ahir color and skin color eye color, and there shoudl be cahracters that look liek they woudl be menacing, bad ass DS from the start even if they dotn have tatoos or decayign facial features. And once again pickign a body type, height, and everything else si all greate. But i would not liek ti if they gave us too much liek makign a persons nose big or forhead stretched. Finally i think you shoyudl be able to pick your skin for the menus and action bar. THe previosu was a dull blue, and while the new skin in TSL will be a neat looking green, it woudl be very schway, yes schway, if we could pick our skins, like red and black or green and yellow, so you could pick a skin that corresponds with your characters personality lightsabre and garments. O well to late for all this stuff now. -
Please make KOTOR 2 longer!
Influence replied to SteveMcCool's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
that was a little weak but it will do. ^_^ -
I watched the interview with a designer on gamespot.. apparently ass your character prgresses your attacks get more advanced, cool, and more acrobatic looking, also stances MAY change depending on what class of jedi OR Sith you select. WHich brings up another question, since you can chose a sith class maybe you can be trained at a sith academy. WHo knows? P.S. I got rid a my blink 182 BUddah Icon*sniff Sniff* ;ets have a moment of silence shal we?.................................... OK but Mace Windu is the pimpest mofo jedi ever so its all gravy baby.
