  1. The Wookiees are supposed to be very wise. This is connected with their long life spans (I think Chewbacca was over 200 years old). The problem I see with KotOR is that they were not made out to be wise, but dumb followers, who were kept subjugated with the help of their own leader. If the Wookiees were portrayed more accurately in the game I would like them more. I don't have a problem with getting more of them in KotOR 2.
  2. I was thinking about what has been said previously in this topic, and some others. Specifically, it has been suggested that the PC will have to learn certain abilities from NPCs. It is also mentioned above that Kreia uses the force to see, because she is blind. It seems to me that the PC will probably learn force sight from Kreia, since it looks like she would need such an ability to function as a Jedi. I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but it seems reasonable to me. If this is the case, it will probably be one of the first unique abilities that can be learned, as long as you're nice to Kreia.
  3. I wouldn't ask to see a Skywalker, but I wouldn't care if there was one. I would like some obscure reference to some Jedi named Halcyon. It rewards those who read the extra material that has popped up over the years. This way, people who don't know anything about it just assume it's some back story, while the die-hard fans get a treat. Then again, you may find out that you are this Halcyon person, given KotOR's past.
  4. I like to be the good guy. It's just who I am. The only part of KotOR that I thought was fun as a darkside character was the feud on Dantooine where you could get them to kill each other. That's only because the people were so stupid, and I'm not particularly fond of Romeo and Juliet. I'll admit I got some satisfaction from killing the sand people, but that is only as revenge for their annoyance during the first Star Wars NES game, and there is a difference between enjoyment, and satisfaction. My gaming will go something like this: LS male - Revan LS (male/female), LS male - Revan DS(m/f), LS Female - Revan LS(m/f), LS Female - Revan DS(m/f) I will not alter Revan's gender as mentioned above if it doesn't change anything my second time through.
  5. (Just a theory for fun) What if Revan turned out to be Darth Sion? As a lightside character at the end of KotOR, Revan fell in love with Bastila, and when the Sith came back strong he and Bastila went to fight them. Bastila was killed horribly in an explosion, and Revan was badly injured while trying to save her. He is so grief-stricken that he goes to the darkside, again, and becomes Darth Sion. Or as a darksider, he was injured in a battle with the Republic while continuing his conquest. The fact that he is still alive proves he is worthy to be the Dark Lord of the Sith. In KotOR 2 you kill him no matter what side you're on. If Revan was a woman in your game, something similar happened and the result was Darth Sion... maybe? (tough to immagine, I know, but like I said this is just for fun.) Or maybe Darth Sion's gender depends on your Revan. You are led to belive that Revan was male until you find out who Revan is in KotOR, so maybe it's the same with Darth Sion. We get the male, promo version until the game comes out. But pointless speculation aside, if Revan will die, I want to be the one to do it. I'll settle for a grandiose(sp) sacrifice as metioned by others, but I would rather my last game was killed by my own hand.
  6. What I was thinking of is an option to play as a non-Jedi character, and be more like Jango Fett or something, not just some normal guy who doesn't do anything. As for the comic book hero with no powers, it's been done (think Batman). Anyway, I know a lot of people who have said they would like a game without Jedi as the main premise, and I found the X-Wing books to be very entertaining, and they aren't based on Jedi. The choice to play Jedi or not (in the same game) would give people an added difficulty option, as well as the chance to try Star Wars from a different perspective. Maybe for the Jedi option it's your mission to defeat a sith Lord, but as a non-Jedi (bounty hunter, soldier, scoundrel, whatever) you find a Jedi, with a mortal injury, and get caught up in the whole mess after he/she dies. You then have to deal with this Sith lord, while he hunts you down for some piece of information he thinks the Jedi gave you. Your non-Jedi class affects your story and motivations. I realize that such a game would be a lot of work to make, but if they make it I will play it, and it sounds like others here would play it too.
  7. I would love to see more Star Wars RPGs. I think it would be in Lucasarts' best interest, to cater to the non-Jedi crowd, and allow for non-force sensitive characters as the main characters. I prefer Jedi, but many people would rather be normal, at least once in a while. So any game with the option of both Jedi and non-Jedi main characters would be great and offer much more replay value based on that alone.
  8. I know the game is D20 based, but I think the D6 Star Wars RPG did a great job with the wounded/incapacitated/mortally wounded status. If the game had something similar to that, where you're penalized for being wounded it would increase the difficulty, and make it more realistic. It would make it much more important to use stealth, and strategy, as opposed to brute force in a battle. I know that this will never be implemented, since it would mean that characters die during the game without any relation to where you are in the story, and the programming for that (and its resulting effects) would be time consuming. Most people probably wouldn't like having to make a new character every time they die in a computer game. I also agree that more strategic battles (like with the healing/exploding droid) are good enough to increase the difficulty without drastically altering the game mechanics.
  9. I think it would all depend on who would get emotional and make the first mistake. We know that both struggle with their emotions. If you get too emotional in a fight the results can be disasterous.
  10. Definately, Darth Vader as Luke's father, but the Kotor twist was good. And as for the FFX idea, I doubt it, but it did get me to buy FFX-2. A twist of that magnitude in this game would be great.
  11. I love Kotor. There aren't many games that I like as much as kotor and from what I've read, number 2 looks like it's shaping up nicely.
