  1. Why wish when you can start today? Sucking at something is the first step on the road to being skilled. Every time you make something that sucks, that another lesson in what *not to do*. Give it a few years and you will hardly suck at all! Source: Was horrible at lots of cool things, now I am not so horrible. That's not entirely true. Skill and desire take you so far; talent takes you the rest of the way. There are also certain physical and medical conditions that can limit your ability; for example, I have sever tremors so therefore, I will never be capable of drawing a straight line. That doesn't mean I'll never be able to draw, but it does mean that all the time and dedication in the world will never allow me to draw a "correct" stickman. :-D
  2. It certainly has been for the development of this game. It will be interesting to see what happens here when the game is released. If you listened to the Steam forums when Shadowrun came out, you'd think it was nothing but horrible mess of trash and bull**** with no redeeming value of any sort...and also, the least Shadowrun thing ever. Including the Xbox game.
  3. Yeah, the non-standard fantasy races are particularly hard to find. When I tried searching for Godlike, they were either too human or too alien. I didn't bother with Orlan because I knew I would just get a bunch of furry pics. How about this for a Fire Godlike? If I was playing a female Fire Godlike wizard, that is *exactly* the picture I would want to use.
  4. One sniper rifle and he could rule the world, I'll bet.
  5. Not only did that person skip through all the dialogues, they also did 0 side quests. And it was still 30 hours; makes me feel very good about my obsessive playthrough plans.
  6. Specifically, I'm going to play an Orlan Cipher from Old Vaila who is fleeing his slave past and has gone a little crazy and a little native in the Dyrwood; courteous, polite, passionate, and viciously/brutally pragmatic. I'm planning on refusing to discuss my slave past at the beginning, being pretty open about other stuff, and hopefully having the option to slowly reveal my slave past over the course of the game as I deal with the problems and issues facing me. A dream portrait would require an Orlan who is, at the least, scarred and a little wild-eyed.
  7. Midnight Pacific Time Zone (12:00 AM PDT, 3:00 AM EST, 8:00 UTC). Awesome. Thank you.
  8. What's midnight his time? Where does he live? No idea when I should log on to watch the opening and ask questions, then get off before things are spoiled.
  9. Or, alternatively, a resistance to some damage types and normal vulnerability to others.
  10. And I'm there. Character creation video? I'm in. I'll leave when the actual game starts.
  11. Meh, the Shadowrun Returns forum was every bit as bad leading up to release and for a few days after.
  12. These are awesome! I particularly love that Orlan! Wouldn't work for my character, but so awesome looking.
  13. Only in our universe. Ignore me, I'm an obstinate bastard.
  14. I personally feel that it is incredibly offensive, too, not because it insults console players, but because there are a great many great racists throughout history, whether we're talking Mahatma Gandhi or Vlad Tepes, that do not deserve such injustice. Console players are much, much worse. Well, Gandhi at least was also a perv. So I think that puts him down somewhere with the console players.
  15. Greatsword is my weapon of choice. I actually really like two damage types (pierce/slash), especially for two-handers. I'll generally put a crushing weapon in my second slot, sometimes with a shield. Greatsword for most encounters, but when I need defense or crush damage, switch to my secondary slot. Works pretty well. That's basically what I was thinking. Not specifically with greatswords, but the "best of damage type" weapons in one slot with an alternate crushing weapon in the second slot seems the way to go for melee. For distance fighters, of course, I'd want ranged in one slot and melee in another.
  16. I don't think they've actually said. There's another priest now, Durance, who is also a Priest of Magran, and also sports an Arquebus, but seems based on what very little we know (a picture, really) to be considerably more unhinged and rough. He seems awesome, really, but I still miss Cadegund, even if she was never fleshed out to us either. But in the end, we don't know. Interesting. Durance is an actual word that means imprisonment. Forshadowing?
  17. The problem I have finding something on Google Image or what have you is that I'm gonna be playing one of their unique races, and I would prefer something with a background-relevant scarring. I don't have the skills to make it and it's to niche for anybody else to care.
  18. Just for the sake of clarity, Obsidian Entertainment did not work on VtM:B or Pools of Radiance. Don't sweat it though, we get blamed for the bugs in other studio's games all the time. I didn't mean to imply that, I was just naming buggy games I've played in the past. Even the buggiest of Obsidian's games, though, were amazing and awesome. KOTOR 2, despite all it's issues and flaws, was IMHO actually better than KOTOR. Same with NWN 2 vs NWN: Original Flavor. Pools of Radiance....not so much.
  19. Not really. The coastal Aumaua are blue and green, the island Aumaua are brown and yellow. They all have shark teeth, webbed appendages, etc. The Calbandra are the African American's, they are most of the humans in Vaila. I'm not sure you can choose to play as that, though.
  20. That's classist! A rangers bear is as much a part of him as his shirt. More so; you don't take damage when your shirt is cut! Discrimination at it's finest, I say.
  21. Hello. Welcome to the Internet.
  22. Yeah, I know, or like some kind of really annoying gnome bard that I just want to stab in the face every time I see him.
