My first play-through is going to be a Wild Orlan cipher. My plan was to focus mainly on damaging spells and use a stiletto/hatchet combo in one weapon slot and a pike in the other. I would mainly poke from behind the tank and use the stiletto/hatchet combo when engaged in melee. I don't want to be incompetent at the dialogue side of things either, but I don't know where the cut-off points are yet (if I put 13 in Intelligence, will I find out the normal pass is 14? That'd be balls). I'm also going to have this guy focus on mechanics and stealth, since there's no rogue companion and I want to use the pre-mades. All I'm really looking for is what an appropriate stat spread would be best, since there's so much conflicting information about what stats do what and so on. Early-level talent advice would not be ignored, however. :-D

They said they're thinking about ways of doing that. Apparently making the maps is very complex or something.

Preloading is all done, manual has been read, nothing left to do but make a cup of tea and wait.

Update on that should be coming up in the next few days. Obsidian (and Paradox) decided to air freight the rewards to Europe to try and get the rewards to backers faster. it is more expensive, but we are trying to get people their goods as fast as possible. Wow! This actually really surprises me! I did *not* expect Obsidian and Paradox to go through all that extra expense. That, right there, tells me how much you guys care about your backers. I don't get anything--I didn't purchase any physical rewards--but kudos to Obsidian, that's badass. Well, to be fair, we did all pay for the shipping; I don't know the package size/weight to estimate an actual shipping cost, but if it's more than the $30 (to the UK, at least), I'd be quite surprised. I wouldn't be. Especially since Obsidian is in California on the West Coast; California is pretty damn far from Britain. Of course it depends on exactly where you are, how many items your getting, etc. Are there import duties to consider? Etc. I don't know what the total cost of shipping commercially to Britain would be, to be honest. But I don't imagine it's cheap.

Could somebody, somehow, make a Wild Orlan (the hairy ones) with big old face scars and one wild eye? I know their the hardest to make, but the choices that I've seen are so limited.

I pretty much agree with this. I barely use Steam for anything; most new games my PC can't run because it's a proprietary small form factor with a specific and limited graphic and CPU capability. This is the first new game I've installed in ages. I don't know much about Steam and honestly wasn't expecting the preloading at all. Looking at the updates and seeing how active the developers have been on the forums, how many bug reports from the backer beta have been taken in and addressed, watching this game studio produce and get distributed all these physical goods (THEIR AIR FREIGHTING THEM TO EUROPE!!) it seems amazing. And watching Obsidian talk calmly and politely to everybody, even the people who accuse them of deliberately disrespecting their backers....I couldn't do that. I'd be yelling at people. The game looks amazing, too. Really, really spectacular. Both gorgeous and hellaciously fun. I won't know until I play it, but I haven't been this excited in so long. Hat's off, Obsidian. This is amazing.

However, backers *did* get the option of physical, DRM-free disks at certain tiers--those DRM-free physical disks will not exist in retail, where all retail physical copies are Steam. At least, this is what I understood.

I'll never understand how customers can actually demand a monopoly... It's like punching yourself in the face. Human beings are *terrible* at judging long-term consequences vs short-term rewards. Just, like...amazingly bad at it.

It's often not what you say but how you say it. Fans are people and they want to be respected and valued. Treat them like petulant children or imbeciles who know nothing and they're going to turn on you. Then don't act like a petulant child. Have I demanded refunds - swore - posted Dank Memes? No I've been civil even in the face of you and your mates not accepting people not completely loving and excusing the devs - they made a wrong call and their being called out on it. White Knight all you like if people post civilly and are expressing their frustration you should respect their opinions enough to give them leeway to state them. If I was using names and talking down to you and your ilk then you would have a justification for your hostile treatment but you really don't you come across Stockholm syndrome more than anything. No, you've ran around whining and complaining that Obsidian won't give you free things for no reason other than you feel entitled to it. You spread misinformation and tell people that Obsidian doesn't care about them--deliberately harming the sales of this game and future sequels just because you don't get treated, like, super-speshul. In the same manner as a petulant child whining about candy, you just keep getting louder and louder the more people refuse to listen to your tantrum, and like a petulant child you accuse anybody who disagrees with you of either not listening or of allying with the side you don't like. And like a petulant child, when called out on this you just whine harder.

As a backer, I demand the key be delivered to me carved on a gold plated plaque, carried by a snow white dove accompanied by the clarion call of triumphant silver trumpets. But, we only have plain old white doves. Why do you hate your backers?!
