So I got the game at a reasonable price from a games shop, and I realize there is a deluxe version with more units. Bunch of rip off artists. There is bound to be a hack to include those units sooner or later, too bad I won't get to use em anytime soon. Won't have time to play until the weekend, unless I give in to temptation sometime tonight.

Joysticks are much more enjoyable than gamepads, maybe that's just me. I think the thumb controlled thingies lack the proper resistance and feedback to hit the same spot every time. They also tire out your thumbs in a way a joystick doesn't. Pads are better than a keyboard for games that don't involve aiming though.

Anyway rule of thumb, to be a tranny you have to be able to pull it off on several levels. Approximately 1% can actually do this, the rest look like circus freaks.

I kinda liked that the Soprano's ended with a whisper rather than a bang. The Gallactica ending can't help but be hindered by all these uninteresting story threads that have to be accounted for. I kinda hope they don't try to explain everything.

Was the guy your father bought it from a salesman, anyway that's baloney most hardware has backwards compatibility all the way back to windows 98, earlier not guaranteed to work, but probably would, some some require XP. Nothing in existence that must have Vista, that would be suicidal for a motherboard manufacturer.

I rather liked the always watching, always being watched panopticum construct, It's very sci fi. Don't remember if it's that book, as he's written rather extensively about the prison system, and punishment in general.

I got steam to work. Incidentially it costs the same as it would in the shops, which is kinda odd since they don't have any distribution costs. Still it sound like a game I could get some millage out of, even if the AI is dumb as ever.

The game abounds with Mad max references. The male leather armor skin, thats Max's. The scoped magnum, the mad max 2 boss had one, and of course Mad Max 3 had a community of kids as well talking in their own made up dialect. Don't remember if they called the grown ups 'mongos' or not.

Well for whatever reason steam did nothing but load for 20 mins after which I killed the process and tried again, same deal. Troubleshooting routers, internet connections, steam versions, etc. it's just too much of a hassle.
