Parrots are generally very jealous of potential suitors.

Voice Actors list in IMDB
Gorgon replied to Winterwolf's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
You think he ever gets pestered at parties to do a "Go for the eyes, Boo! Go for the eyes!" -
Piracy never threatened the bottom line before the proliferation of broad band connections. Now the means of sharing anything are so prevalent it's no wonder copyright holders are going ape****.

Ron Pearlman has been in loads of poor movies. Later on in the movie there is a shot for shot rip off of, I think it's one of the half life 1 adons, can't remember, where the protagonist is turned into a mutant.

The starter lazer cutter is the best gun in the game unless you need to take out something with a ludicrous amount of hitpoints. I recommend upgrading that, and your suit, then take a heavy gun as you begin to have spare upgrade canisters for it. Money is better spent on ammo than wading around with 8 guns you can only use poorly.

My brother used to go around talking to himself in morse code while preparing for some kind of seaman qualification, back in the days morse code was still required. 'Di daa di daa daa daa di'. Drove the rest of us crazy.

People hire lawyers who say they are going to lose up front all the time..

By the way,can you turn a printer port into a USB connection with an adaptor jack. My mew mobo doesn't have a printer port, and I was just given a lazer printer wich only has one printer port.

I had a weird bug where the DRM scheme would keep kicking me back to the desktop and not letting me run it, I cracked it and that solved the problem. Well if the game is cracked troubleshooting is kinda pointless, as you can't tell a protection trigger from a general error. I think we have to assume it's not. Anyway it's only a CD check, that just spawns a 'please insert the correct CD and restart the application'.
-
No, on second thought that's not it, the error message would have mentioned with bink.dll.
-
Could be bink.dll. If you have a version mismatch the came can't play the opening cinematic, but then it could be a million other things as well.

Morse code is binary. Long and short is all there is.
-
It does work, it just takes a looooong to install during which it looks like the program starts to hang, it doesn't though, even if the task manager says it's doing nothing, it is.
-
What, you need a translator to read binary? Weak. And you of course have all the ASCII codes memorised. How does binary translate to numeral.

Benchmarking Ubuntu vs. Vista vs. Windows 7
Gorgon replied to neckthrough's topic in Skeeter's Junkyard
Is there no way to get something with extensive copyright protection written into the code to run on Linux. Isn't there a windows environment emulator. I have no experience with Linux, but I need to be able to handle cross platform and open office and whatnot for work so I'm going to fool around a bit with it. -
I thought it was morse code or something

Can you install linux from an internal HDD. My drive just gave up and i'm broke. -
I agree and i think Keaton is still the best one. You can really see the dichotomy in him and he is aware of it fully which makes him slightly crazy when he is Wayne but he uses Batman to give himself meaning and purpose. Which makes him a bit crazy as Wayne as a result. That was just great. And worked great juxtaposed to his opponents too. Bale is as boring as sack of Yak excrement compared. Keaton was a more refined Wayne but as batman he was just too small and unimposing, Batman is big and scary, and he isn't Bond, he doesn't waste time on a lame romance in every installment. No Bale is the best overall Batman. Those films are just suffering a bit under their own success.

The 'rules' of the island don't make any sense at all. I think it highly unlikely that any explanation will be forthcoming other than more hints. If it did it would certainly be a first, any full explanation is bound to be disappointing. The only thing this highly unlikely story construct has going for it is the mystique, without that fig leaf it would be laugable. It's like the creature from the black lagoon, you wait an hour for a glimpse of a guy in a fish suit, but everything up to that is scary.
-
Whatshisface the black guy is going to go soft as they put her through progressively worse experiences. I forgot, gunslinger girl also has the memory wipe thing, although it's a side effect of the schoolgirl's mental conditioning to follow orders.
-
Well, they are not schoolgirls, other than that it seems pretty similar to, for instance, Gunslinger girl. J poppy music, a nefarious organization keeps a stable of different specialists, each with handlers that they misguidedly trust. etc.

Probably so, is it even the same writers from season to season.

Pretty obvious imagery.

I sorta kinda watched the first episode on the intarwebs, and it's probably not my demographic. Basically it's an anime with American actors, and without the animation to make up for the general childish air of the thing. Much like Alias it's mostly about the protagonist slipping in and out of different costumes leaving plenty of time to dwell on her physiology, until episode 3 or 4 where she will escape from the secret facility a la Nikita, to go underground while the agents hunt her and she gets into various adventures while trying to recover her memory a la Bourne Identity. Maybe starting a detective agency or the like as well. I feel like I've watched the first season already.

Adama has been popping pills a lot this half of the season, and how other crew are mentioning how poorly he looks as of late. (Great acting by eddie as always) I don't buy that, they have the merged Pegasus and Galactica crews running the ship. Which should, more or less even with losses since new caprica, have a mostly full compliment crew total. You can't tell me theres no one qualified in the combined engineering teams for someone to be a chief engineer. In fact SOMEONE has to be running the engineering dept... On the topic of new cap, while story wise I understand overruled military logic, I am sure if written properly adama would have taken pegasus to rescue them on new cap, not galactica. As from a pure military standpoint he would have wanted the most firepower to take on the 3 or 4 basestars. If so he wouldn't have this current issue of infrastructure starting to fail as galactica would have been sacrificed not pegasus. However, then it would be odd calling the show battlestar galactica if she ship no longer existed. lol Who was the head engineer supposed to be, there was the guy brought over from Pegasus who was killed in the mutiny, other than that it was always Tyrol who handled anything repair related. The episode where they were trapped in the airlock, investigating the explosives damage caused by Boomer, even the scene where the damage control team had to kill the workers trapped in the compromised bulkheads in the first episodes. I guess it's a question of practicality, a tv show can't have a character for every imagined major function on a Battlestar, it would grow the supporting cast too large.
