  1. Wow ! This was on the same page as your link. I dunno, shrubberies are overrated. We have learned to live with pigeons and ducks and such, why not rabbits. A steady supply would do wonders for the fox population. Nature is not just that stuff out there in the wild, there is no wild anymore.
  2. Beware Islamic imperialism.
  3. perhaps even a year Bwhahhhahahhahahha doing aid work I misread that as 'doing acid'. Either is an eye opener I guess.
  4. Don't you see, I have proven, by LotF's own logic, that invading Iraq was justified.
  5. I know I'm going to regret this because engaging you in any serious discussion is the conversational equivalent of an out of body experience, but I betting you would be one of the ones to argue that the attack on Pearl Harbor was justified. I'm curious, do you think Nixon would have been justified in attacking OPEC nations in 1973? Or would Carter have been justified for attacking Iran in 1979? ... or Bush for attacking Iraq in 2003. *Ba-dum Tish*
  6. But the consequence of use is always there in the back of the decision makers' minds, that's the whole idea behind calling it the ultimate deterrent. It's why everyone wants them. I don't think Johnson or Nixon would have be as meticulous in their political signaling, or been as reluctant to engage the north without it.
  7. Those tanks weren't that great to begin with, they just built more of them than anyone had ever done before.
  8. But the Japanese regime did want war. They invaded to Korea and Manchuria to 'protect' them from colonial powers, well knowing that that was exactly what they were themselves. Unless you buy into their propaganda, but I don't think any reasonably intelligent person ever has. The envisioned greater Japanese empire certainly wasn't going to come without one. They thought they could force a peace after a quick campaign in the pacific, but that's how wars go, easy to start, not so easy to end.
  9. I think MAD was the only thing keeping things from escalating into another world war, at least two or three times, notably Vietnam and Korea, although MacArthur wanted to use the bomb himself. Thank god he never got to be president. And on the other hand in the Cuban missile crisis the weapons themselves were the catalyst for the near war.
  10. I'm thinking chocolate risen, or is it past perfect of 'rise'.
  11. It would kill the only source of objective opinion about games we have : other gamers. Since everyone would constantly be trying to talk up their stocks.
  12. There was a blackout a week ago and I momentarily wondered if I had gone blind, or if this was the afterlife. Stubbed my toe the same place two times looking for some source of light. Decided to go out to see what there was to see and discovered that the cafes were all candlelit, and that people had all come out en mass, cut off from ze internets and their TV sets. It was a little bizarre, but in a good way.

    Dollhouse

Personally I thought she was a bit old to play a clueless teenager. Also I don't think Ballard makes sense, as in why he would work for the dollhouse. If he's trying to go undercover it's a mite obvious, and why would they trust him. If he just wanted another job because he got fired from the FBI then sold out his ideals completely, but he's as sanctimonious and goodie two- shoes as ever.
  14. Nah he plays both sides of the fence.
  15. The question is if the prize should attempt to further peace or just reward those efforts after the fact. If you decide to try and be creative and proactive you could easily wind up honoring the wrong people. It's a tightrope act, and they have failed quite a number of times. Philosophically though, I agree with the stance.
  16. Maybe it is a joke, but the committee decided long ago that if giving a prize could help speed things along it was worth the risk. On the other hand they gave it to Rabin and Arafat, look how well that turned out.
  17. It's a reward for deciding not to give international bodies the finger, you know, like Bush.
  18. I get random CTDs with every version of STALkER I have ever tried.
  19. Dagon better hurry up with his endl
  20. Dispensations for wearing SS uniforms are : 1. While shooting a ww2 movie. 2. Strippers. Not other acceptable exceptions.
  21. The **** guarded his hen jealously. Hello, my name is **** Hand****, nice to meet you !
  22. You think it would work on XP, cause I kinda feel like playing it now.
  23. The one deciding factor about drag queens and shemales and such is whether they can pull it off. There is an element of show business and character there. He just can't hack it as a woman, he should be forced out of that dress for his own good.
  24. It's kinda pointless arguing with someone who doesn't understand the concept of nuance and shades of gray, so I'm just going to let it go.
  25. I gotta say I detect some degree of exaggerations and posing of problems that aren't real (illegal drunk drivers ?) here and there when you lot talk immigration and immigrants, but that is nothing new I suppose. I think it's pretty sad that you have come to regard them as a kind of second class citizen (illegal citizen, but the distinction is not important). Whether you like it or not they live and work for decades in the US, part of its economy and its demographic, but without political representation because they don't vote. Given the high birth rate of Hispanic families there might well be more of 'them' than there are of 'you', in specific states. That kind of situation tends to necessitate political change.
