Gorgon

You would think they could just let the store burn a copy for you rather than lose a customer. In a lot of ways we are still doing business like it was the 80s in computer games.

What's the point of pre ordering PC games. They print 'em according to demand. Actually running out of copies must be pretty rare. Seems to me it's more intended as a sales ploy, get the ball rolling early.

But they are lists !. Lists must be engaged.

As far as I can recall it had something to do with the high level spell effects. If you didn't install the wide screen mod they would have graphics glitches.

What annoyed me about the PST fix pack was that it forced the resolution mod on you. I could barely see what was going on because the avatars were so tiny. Don't think the game was meant to be played in anything more than 640x800

It all sounds so good in the planning phase, and then 10 years later we are still picking up the pieces.

I'm not getting suckered into dragon age DLCs again. Not untill they offer me a full refund of Warden's Keep anyway.

Maybe so, I just remember him writing something about the character.

Not exactly J.E's finest hour, that was his writing yes ? Mostly remembered as that annoying NPC with lengthy dialouge who would appear before several major battles. Much of the nuisance I think comes with having both a predictable 'surprise' and a linear game. Maybe Melissan could have worked if she wasn't so front and center, always providing an explanation.

Something about someone being an idiot.

Or either bold or italicize.

Considering that N.Koreans routinely risk their lives trying to escape I'd say you are right.

Yeah, its Wes Johnson. They kinda sound alike.

So.. who was it ? because it was the same fellow who did the Dark Brotherhood quest in Morrowind, clear as day.

I hope Fallout New Vegas doesn't use Fallout 3's voice actors. Except Kevin Michael Richardson (Sarevok, the dark brotherhood guy in Morrowind, the guy who wants you to blow up megaton in FO 3) He was goodness.

'Predator in AVP' - No, they are the other team. 'Zombies'. No Zombies are not the end of level monster, the real villain, they are the wallpaper. 'Nazis' They are everyone's favourite villain, with no specific ties to computer games. As an experiment I flipped through the list and noted the villains I could remember more about than their names . 14. Hell, I take pride in not knowing anything about the Super Mario universe.

the North Korean people would revolt. The last time around they just died en masse of starvation though. Why is this time different ?

It was terrible. Anyway just ignore the movies, some of the games are really good.

From Walter Sharpe, the US commander in S. Korea, can't find the link now. Anyway there are bound to other sources, just do a search.

I'm sorry, but it looked like crap then and it looks like crap now.

A comparable military response would end in war and the North holds the population of Seoul hostage. The North boasts an estimated 13000 artillery pieces, the largest concentration anywhere in the world, already dug in and pointing at the South's cities. There is no effective counter against such a threat against the civilian population. The South would win with their American allies but the cost would be incalculable. This is where the North's supreme confidence comes from. They know that starting a war is unthinkable for the South since its leaders are obliged to actually care what happens to its citizens.

Czechoslovakia yes, but Afghanistan is a whole different story. So, satellite wars are not imperialism. Well that should get the US off the hook for a whole lot.

Actually you can do everything in one installation with the Ubuntu boot disk. I did, didn't cause any problems. Although I did feel rather nervous while the partitioning was taking place during install. If it locks up then well then you lost everything on the disk. There is an option to boot off the install disk without making any permanent changes though.

The last time I had repeated lockups my PS did die not long after. If you are feeling adventurous you could install ubuntu and see if it happens there too. could confirm a harware error.
