FO: NV (DLC)
I want something major if I'm even gonna bother. The FO3 DLCs were too small for my tastes, I only got them then they were all available and had fallen considerably in price. You can't seriously mean that there was content there comparable to the full game.

FO: NV (DLC)
Well I suppose, but there is also the chance that the proverbail train will have left the station and that people will forget about the game, move onto other things. Gotta sell while the getting is good.

Preorder and DLC items
It's like selling a car with the doors, windows and everything on the dash optional. Is it a car ?, yes, is it what you wanted - no.

You can call anything 'bonus' including content that feels more like it belonged in the vanilla game. It really pissed me off that Napoleon Total war sold with just about every non standard unit as part of a DLC or special edition. When I get too much of the car salesman vibe I usually back off. it's bad across the board these days though.

You gotta show em who's boss, dogs need one instinctively, and if it's not you it's the dog. That's all the dog whispering I've got for today.

FO: NV (DLC)
Well alright, I guess I can dig out the game in a months time or so.

No, I guess not. Dog is supposedly quite tasty, but it needs a lot of cooking to tenderize.

I've killed a bunch of insects, who hasn't. I dunno, does that make me racist ?. lol. Mosquito are actively trying to suck your blood, flies carry disease, they kinda have it coming, no ?

When we eat animals they serve a purpose, but putting down a bunch of dogs just because taking proper care of them would present a slight nuisance, that's surely different. Why is this difficult to grasp ?

Yes, it's immoral, but it falls under the category of diplomacy and international relations. Killing furry animals doesn't.

.... from the POV of the Olympics, giving it to China could be considered diplomacy, getting to know one another, all for the greater good. It's harder to put a good face on this.

But this has specifically to do with the games, killing and incarcerating dissidents hasn't

The Olympics supposedly has an image to worry about, I hope people will remember this when Canada applies for another event.

What are you playing now?
Yes, but it's still just point and click, interspace with abilities. That's what a shooter does, what's the point of an RTS with no 'big picture' facets ?
-
Things like this piss me off endlessly.
I'd imagine it's about as unpleasant as anything gets, but not for very long though.

You a ****ing expert on that or what? technically you drown in your own blood, but you aren't awake for all of it as you lose the oxygen supply to your brain fairly quickly.

DOW2. Can't seem to get past the tutorials. I've tried both available campaigns but handing you control of 3 'hero' units and letting you loose on various scripted events, that's really not the strengths of an RTS. Does it get any better ?, do you get resource management, the ability to build units and bases etc. or is it just more of the same. 'Drop' into some map with a random size and composition of forces and earn resources after the fact... They did that in the last game, it sucked.

The Kindle
There is something to be said for the simple low tech solution we have been using these last thousand years or so. Easier on the eyes than the best flat screens out there, resolution only limited by your eyes, no AC adaptors required. portable... up to a point, but you can only read one at a time anyway. No, I think in these tablety thingies are mostly for people with the attention span of a 12 year old, they like to pretend that they read, but also can't do it without checking facebook, home banking, whatnot, every 10 minutes.

-Huh, what's with the burying alive. You would think there would be some kind of heath and safety code requiring an injection. Also, yes, why didn't they try and place these animals. It's not much different than getting a puppy at Christmas and then putting it down when the cuteness factor wears off. *wags finger*

Dragon Age 2
What were the other things? Even this sounds like a pretty extreme scenario. I mean, I certainly have to recharge my battery after every few hours of gaming, and I don't think I've been in a place that has electricity but no option for accessing the internet in, well, this millennium. Not that I have a laptop that comes even close to DA2s minspec. Congratulations to you for having one, though. I went to such a place with my family last year. I don't currently have a fancy mobile I can use as a modem, and 3/4 G coverage is still pretty lousy out in the sticks. I want to be able to use my games and programs with absolutely no hassle from the DRM. I consider phoning home once a week a hassle, and I'm gonna pass as a result.
-
Dragon Age 2
Also, I wouldn't be able to install DA2 on my laptop and take it somewheres without internet. These things all count against getting the game, it's just too much of a hassle.
-
Dragon Age 2
It's the login thing that's the problem, not the concurrent installs. I'd like to be able to play DA2 in three years, who the hell even knows if there is going to be a Bioware in three years.

Dragon Age 2
So you say, but what happens when all the games you have are online DRM and you lose internet connectivity, it's happened twice in the last two months on my shared conn.
-
Dragon Age 2
I might have gotten it for laughs, not anymore. I got Arkam Asylum which is online DRM, but it was only 4,99 so I don't feel cheated. That's about what I'd pay for a continuous online check DRM game.

nevermind, gotta learn to read.
