Indeed it seems you'd be safer doing some courses in computer graphics or scientific visualisation in a straight mathematics or CS degree. I'm always wary of places that try to 'teach' game design or game programming.

Blizzard said they hadn't thought about it. They said there's still plenty of room for a necromancer. TBH I think you'll see him return in the xpack. BTW, for those interested, the game will run on both Mac OSX and Windows XP. Optional support for Vista and Direct X 10. I laughed. Gotta love Blizzard. I bet nVidia and Microsoft are none too happy. And I should also note that's good because it means it will probably work out of the box on WINE (Linux).

That screen makes about as much sense as using a knife to eat pasta. A sorceress gets 1 stamina per vitality point and 1 stamina per level. She starts at 74. As such, your sorc should have 47+124+74 = 206 stamina. You have 91. A sorceress gets 1 life per level and 2 life per vitality point. She starts at 40. She gets another 20 from Alkor (let's say 40 total assuming you're at nightmare). Your sorc should have 47 + 2*124 + 40 + 40 = 375 life. You have 118 and even that is mostly from items. Based on your stamina, I'd say your character was at most level 3 before you hacked it up to level 48.

If the damage normally is half the damage WITH zeal, it's all working fine. Post a screenie if you want, with one attack normal and the other zeal, and I'll confirm. It'll probably be a bit less than twice as high with zeal (due to game mechanics and the way dmg bonuses are accumulated).

Ah right. Gotcha. IP/LAN game up at 210.215.140.180 if anybody is interested. Normal difficulty, starting a level 1 Enchantress. Join me if you want.

That's always been the case, the consoles compete against one another, not the PC. It's the gamers that make it an issue. It couldn't perhaps be the game industry trying merge the console and PC markets that makes it an issue, hmm?

I believe it is, when I seen those pics I can see a WoW influence. But its not only that, those graphics.... NWN2, Withcher are already better then it and its released in 2010? I get them wanting low hardware requirements, but S.T.A.L.K.E.R did this, while giving those with the better PC good graphics. Huh, what do you mean? Those are fantastic graphics and I certainly prefer those over NWN2, Witcher or STALKER Better than STALKER... I guess Diablo fanboys are as objective as Halo ones. No, but that doesn't mean they weren't. Seriously, it won't have dialogue, its story will be from Blizzard, NPCs will be meh, and its graphics will be poor-average. Is it me or does that sound strange that a game like this is coming from one of the biggest development houses in the world? Basically its like; 'Well we don't have to put much effort into this, every Diablo fan will be drooling over this and would get it even if it looked like an Amstrad game, and the non fans that look at this and laugh don't matter because we have 9 mil people in Asia playing WoW'. Then we have five classes, if Obsidian had dared to release NWN2 with five classes.... I wouldn't want to think what those boards would of been like. Then no character customisation, that was fine when Diablo 2 was released but now? And Finally no Necromancer If this was EA people would be saying they're milking the series. It seems strange that you're talking about a game you seemingly no nothing about. Each to his own.

... I actually have faith in Obsid on this infinite ammo thing, but that made that's certainly one of the more exotic interpretations I've read of the benefits of infinite ammo.

Did anybody care, really? Lots of people. Act 1 Cathedral, Act 3 Durance of Hate.

Hurlshot: I don't use Battle.net. I use my SP char and playing over IP/LAN. Battle.net is OK but these days I think there's more cheaters, scammers and general idiots around. Mkreku: jerkiness? Um, get a new computer?

Keep in mind that this was the start of the game. Evil hasn't been around for 20 years in Sanctuary. Personally I'd prefer the start of the game to be bright and for it to get progressively more bleak and gloomy as it becomes clear Diablo is back and unleashing terror. Act 2 Diablo 2 was fairly bright, as was act 5 due to the snow. I'm not convinced the 'art' concern is valid simply based on what we've seen so far (not just you - I've heard it from others, too).

Fanaticism was the most powerful paladin skill in Diablo 2 Classic and still remains equal first. These days Holy Shock and Holy Freeze are also contenders. (I prefer Holy Freeze myself since it's more interesting.) Fanaticism speeds up the player's attacks something chronic, gives a hefty damage bonus, AND a big chance to hit increase. I don't know where you read that but Fanaticism multiplies your damage by 5 at level 20, and more than DOUBLES your attack rating. A very simple build is: 4 zeal, 20 sacrifice, 20 fanaticism. With this you'd do more than 7 times your normal damage, attack faster than you can blink, and your attack rating would be multiplied by 3 times. Not to mention your allies would adore you. Conviction makes attack rating meaningless (they have no defence) and combined with vengeance - it does unfathomable amounts of elemental damage. It only hits one target at a time, though, unlike zeal, and doesn't have the speed increase of either zeal or fanaticism. I believe it gets useful again in hell where crowd skills are less powerful. But otherwise it's a chore selecting every monster, even if you score one hit kills. Edit: not to mention that the Paladin is one of the safest characters to play because he can get incredibly high defence and block with holy shield.

Blizzard is today talking about how they're making Diablo III more interactive. Namely, dialogue is no longer about monologues, but personalised character-driven story. I.e. it seems there will be dialogue trees. They want to make the role-playing part of the game as strong as possible whilst maintaining the 'opt-out' ability of Diablo's quests and dialogue. I think that's the best anybody could have hoped for in terms of story and dialogue, no? They're also talking about how the core of the game is the horror genre, and Diablo 3 will stay true to that. MC: There has to be a support class. I imagine a knight of some form will make an appearance. Class types to cover (needn't all be independent): Support/buffing Cursing/debuffing Ranged physical Ranged magic Melee tank Melee damage dealer Summoning Traps I reckon they've got a priest, archer and mage left to cover. Remember though, they seem keen on mixed classes these days (Assassin, Druid, Witch Doctor).

Viconia didn't say that over and over again unless you tried to run away from her, Tirgranes.

In the wake of Diablo 3, I figured a few people might be more malleable to the idea of an Obsidian Diablo 2 group? It will be over IP (not battle.net), so you needn't worry about n00bs coming and ruining the game, or randoms joining and cheating. We only really need about 2 to 4 people for a fun game (8 can get too crowded). Dark Raven: Nice looking sorc. I made a melee sorc once with enchant. She did ****loads of damage but couldn't really take the hits. Edit: Yeah, that's right, I'm looking at you Shryke, Moat, Dark_Raven, Xard and mkreku.

Raven, I've told you before - you can't go around calling every human you don't like a 'robot'.

They are ****ing scary. As you can probably tell, my avatar is of Maxwell Smart and Agent 99.

They said there's still plenty of room for the Necromancer. If they don't add him now, they'll probably add him in an xpack. lol: That's just for a fansite forum.

Wouldn't surprise me if Adria was Lilith or biding her time or something.

That gameplay trailer is total sweet sauce. Looks like to pulled the good stuff from Dungeon Siege 1 and 2 without the bad.
