  1. Make that six episodes and I'd like to see how they're going to wrap up the story line and all the loose ends. I can't see it happening. They'll probably do a Stargate and do a movie after the Season ends. Are you sure it's 6? The last episode is two in one. Are you counting that?
  2. What is 'barely chilly'? To me 'barely chilly' is like 15 to 20 Celsius. Chilly is 10 to 15 and freezing is below 10. It's 20 Celsius outside here atm, although my room is 30 C because of stored heat.
  3. Um, that's my point: console gaming seems to have peaked in the 90's. Pardon? It was a generalisation obviously. 2000 is still almost a decade ago. The offerings since seem to have relatively lack-lustre install bases. Specifically I'm talking about this: Nintendo Wii 2006 044960000 44.96 million[5] Sony PlayStation 3 2006 021300000 21.3 million[14] Microsoft Xbox 360 2005 028000000 28 million[10] Microsoft Xbox 2001 024000000 24 million[11][12] Nintendo Nintendo GameCube 2001 021740000 21.74 million[3][13] Sony PlayStation 2 2000 140000000 140 million[1] Sega Dreamcast 1998 010600000 10.6 million[16][17] Nintendo Nintendo 64 1996 032930000 32.93 million[3] Sony PlayStation 1994 102490000 102.49 million (shipped)[4] Sega Saturn 1994 017000000 17 million[15] or 9.5 million[16] Scuse the formatting - just order by year on the actual site. But the groupings show a fairly clear pattern of massive sales for each generation collectively, up until the current one. Even taking into account they've only been around for 3 or 4 years they seem low comparatively and given the trends I mentioned in my post above.
  4. Well, yes, there's a bit of a self-selection problem evident in that only the people with computers sufficiently powerful to run Steam games will use Steam. But pretty much any computer around these days can use Steam. This is certainly a sample space problem, but it's minor enough.
  5. Huh. Look at this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-...o_game_consoles If the console industry is booming, why did it seemingly peak in the 1990's? There are more people alive today, people are richer, and the current consoles are far superior to their earlier brethren. PC's certainly haven't wasted any time in this regard. Seems like the PR and spin we here in the media may not tell the full story.
  6. That's off-track, no? Most people don't build their own PC, they buy it. Anyway, whatever the anecdotal stories and intuitive guesses are, there's some real hard data for us to actually look out coming out of Valve's steam (which is a pretty unbiased cross-section of the gaming population AND has a multi-million person sample size). http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey
  7. No. It's an FN FAL. The Galil is an Israeli optimised version of the AK47.
  8. See, this is an example of a GOOD BSG episode. It's like it goes in cycles. The **** makes the good look amazing. So what did Tyrol see at the end? Was it a flaw in the ship's structural integrity? A Cylon hallucination that means something to him? What?
  9. Bemusingly, you posted the results of a search query and claimed that was 'hard data'. Of course people were going to laugh at you. It's most probable a game natively compiled on Linux would run faster than the same game natively compiled on Windows, yes.
  10. YOU'RE the one with the weird unit system, you convert it. Actually it's a german system, 100F is his wifes temp (when she was menstruating so she was hotter than normal), and 0 is the coldest day in his village. And that's not weird?
  11. i just had soem much kilkenny we had to awitch to guiness. needless tyo say i specualte my sister's boyfriend is viable

  13. How could they, linux would get crushed. Thus it would defeat their goal of showing how uber linux is. Yet another ignorant post by Rhomal. Try looking up these 4 characters some time champ: ext4
  14. http://www.news.com.au/story/0,27574,25015424-1242,00.html Oh yaaaaaaaaaay. 38 Celsius here atm. Edit: Actually, better link article here: http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/266683
  15. See, now this is the type of stuff I want to hear. Sounds good.
  16. And no one is saying the PC is not more powerful than a console, I am for example saying that it is not an option for average gamer customer because it is still 200USD more expensive than Xbox 360... try to read whole my posts not only few paragraphs... Find a new computer shop. You're being ripped off.
  17. Starbreeze is a pretty awesome name for a game studio so I'll give them a chance. What's this thread got to do with Alpha Protocol?
  18. This. It's amazing how overblown people can make something like this.
  19. Interestingly, it rivals Britannica in terms of average accuracy per article.
  20. Yeah but you continue this delusion that any of that matters. It doesn't. It doesn't matter whether somebody gets the **** PC or the megabucks superawesome PC since they are both now more powerful than consoles and certainly standardised well enough now (the days of having 6 different graphics card makers are long gone). I concede right now there might be a transition happening w.r.t. to that last lot of people with old generation PCs who have yet to buy a new one that is by default better than any console (like myself, for instance), but that's not a large number, relatively, and crucially it gets smaller every day. Yeah you are bro.
  21. Haha. Well, it has to be when places like South Korea are announcing 1 Gbps connections for all their citizens by 2011 (true story).
