It doesn't matter whether somebody gets the **** PC or the megabucks superawesome PC since they are both now more powerful than consoles and certainly standardised well enough now (the days of having 6 different graphics card makers are long gone). I concede right now there might be a transition happening w.r.t. to that last lot of people with old generation PCs who have yet to buy a new one that is by default better than any console (like myself, for instance), but that's not a large number, relatively, and crucially it gets smaller every day. [/sarcasam] I don't know why you posted that but I'll bite: Python's great for games - from Bloodlines, Freedom Force, ToEE, etc using it for scripting and modding to FIFE's flexible C++/Python synergy and the superb rapid development capabilities of PyGame and Python-Ogre or Panda3D. It's gravy that you can bring Python performance as arbitrarily close to C performance as you require (assuming it isn't already). And it's spelt 'sarcasm'.

Then go back and read the thread. There are real, tangible reasons why what's good for the PC can be what's bad for consoles (though obviously right now that's not true). Though I agree, it's not simply a zero sum game.
