  1. Nah, p sure it's just you being rude.
  2. OK... installed! (I just used patch 1.0b - figured you made a typo) Let's see how this goes...
  3. And where do I get this? Lucasarts page says 1.0b

Episode 5 of the latest season (three) was ****ing epic. I still have the hots for Kristin Kreuk after all these years.
  5. If you'd bothered to read the thread, these 'laws' were passed by an independent body - the media regulator. This is not legislation and it seems pretty flimsy to call it law. While it was passed by a government body, it was not passed by parliament - what most people consider government. Think it would hold up under legal scrutiny? I do not know. If it went to the High Court it'd probably get shot down. They're pretty damn strong on civil rights. If it got there. It's worth pointing out the legal status of this material (Refused Classification): It's legal to possess, but not legal to distribute, and I believe not legal to import, though perhaps it's simply the case that it would be confiscated at Customs and you'd be sent on your way.
  6. That's arguable. Generally the government leaves these things to the market to sort out, but if businesses get to bold in screwing over consumers, they WILL act.
  7. If we're talking about Mao the Chinese mass murderer, I can't immediately think of a more disgusting individual, save, Hitler or Stalin. If you want to talk about Chinese heroes you'd be better off admiring people like Deng Xiaoping or Hu Yaobang. You certainly wouldn't be accused of being a horrible person (which, TBH has some justification) that way.
  8. OBAMA IS A DIRTY SOCIALIST COMMUNIST! HE'S PROBABLY ALSO SECRETLY A MUSLIM!

Without the app store that'd be pretty useless.

Now THIS is absolutely disgusting: http://www.wired.com/epicenter/2010/01/ipa...comment-page-1/ And then this: http://www.electricpig.co.uk/2010/01/28/ad...E2%80%99s-ipad/ Screw Apple, I'll wait for the second generation and see whether it is more or less draconian.
  11. Oh you're fecking kidding me. Another 1.3 gigabytes to download? No KOTOR2 for at least another 2 hours. Edit: But thanks!

  14. Offline mode always works and you can always launch your games. The problem is getting into it. It'll often try to update Steam for 5 minutes before it gives you the offline mode option, but it IS there, even if you try to turn that mode on with no net on a fresh boot. Edit: As it stand nows, my Steam folder is about 180gigs and my GOG folder 30 or 40. I always try to buy on GOG first to avoid ALL DRM, but Steam has been extremely pleasant. None of the nastiness I was expecting. I get 'could not connect to steam' and that's that, nowhere to launch my games. If I lose connectivity while logged in it says 'game not available at this time' If you let it do it's thing for long enough, restart the app every time it quits, maybe end task on it a few times, it gets through to offline mode. I haven't figured out the exact trigger, but it's perfectly possible and takes 2 mins of fiddling. A bit annoying. Of course, if you're on the net, just hit 'go offline' and that's that.
  15. Arcanum and Gabriel Knight.
  16. GOG won't load. The traffic has DDoS'ed the site. LOL.

  18. I couldn't get through the Machinarium 1st/2nd puzzle so I gave up. Sanitarium was a breeze, though. Good game.

One of the big pluses of an Apple tablet-style device is a massive software ecosystem and developer base specifically targeting a single device which no other company can provide, except maybe Google (and they haven't officially entered this market yet).
  20. Sweet! Thanks guys, I will dust off KOTOR2.
  21. 4 hours. Arg.
  22. Whatta smeg. Oh jesus, this **** is why I vote Greens (whatever your crazy thoughts on their environmental stance is - they at least have the Senate power to control legislation). And why I really really do not ****ing trust the government to handle a web censorship scheme. The problem is that this crap doesn't appear to be legislation. It's just the whims of the censorship authority. WHAT THE F...
