Hahahaha, you just reminded me about Princess Mononoke and when it showed in cinemas over here... Parents were bringing children to watch it and right of the bat the protagonist was taking off limbs and heads with a bow and arrow, queue parents leaving the cinema... Pretty sure that is what killed anime in cinemas over here...

The thing with Akira is like with many other old stories. When you look at it today, after already having read and watched a bunch of sci fi, it's nothing special, but you have to understand that back then there was nothing like that really and it was an inspiration for so many of the things that are popular today.

This was such a weird story, I can't remember if it got the axe or just never got finished. What did you read that got dropped? It's really rare that a translator drops a series and no one picks it up.

I watched a ton of anime as a kid too, but when I started watching Bleach and finishing all the anime that was available at the time my impatience led me to the manga and it kind of spiraled from there. As time went on I read more and more manga and watched less and less anime, it was simply boring to watch an anime I already read in the manga. Physical media or online? Was just thinking about it when reading Bartimaeus's post. I never did find it that scary, although I don't remember how young I was when I first watched it.

Huh, the opposite for me, nowadays I barely watch anime, but manga is a daily thing. I do like watching original anime that is good and some novel based anime, but I'm kind of wary of those as they almost always never finish the story.

Yeah I dislike the chibi style too... The manga had a pretty interesting story and I think the anime follows it mostly, so I would say give it another episode or two. Speaking of chibi style, have you ever read Made in Abyss?

That is the same one I was looking at, didn't know about the keys though. On the picture they look normal.

I have the xm3s for over a year now. They really are phenomenal, the only issue I have with them is that they get uncomfortable after prolonged use, specifically on the headband and my ears get steamed too. Although I think that is just an issue with overear headphones.
