It's still there in the original request: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/91743-portraits/?p=1976932 -
I found an interesting looking portrait in the internet that was fitting for POE, saw what story backgrounds were there, chose the one that I liked and headcanoned a backstory and a fitting class for that character. Been playing it ever since, as I usually don't switch mains for a game once I settle on one. For POE games it turned out to be a dissident elven rogue from Aedyr.

The reason why my watercolored versions have small definition is because the game doesn't scale well watercolored portraits of bigger than standard size. Your hi-res watercolored portraits may look worse, blurrier there and you'll have to resize them anyway. Also, my portraits are checked against other portraits in the game - those made by other user may have more color/contrast or whatever but they look like they will stand out too much from the rest of the NPCs portraits in the game. But suit yourself. > The reason why my watercolored versions have small definition is because the game doesn't scale well watercolored portraits of bigger than standard size. Your hi-res watercolored portraits may look worse, blurrier there and you'll have to resize them anyway. I didn't really understand what you were trying to say there, sorry. I just compared these two: and decided I liked the 4chan version better, that's all. It wasn't meant to be personal. Please don't take offence! Thanks for doing the Aloth one, also! Lol, I'm not taking offense, I'm just trying to explain why my portraits are of specific size and palette, so to speak. Anyway, you gotta put those in the game and then see which one will look better. That's why I also always post two screenshots from the game along the portraits - one in a conversation with an NPC and the other from scripted interaction. -

Hopefully Aramintai doesn't mind me stepping in and hopefully you like these Salinger. Not at all, I'm actually trying to encourage people to make these portraits themselves, even posted an instruction around here somewhere. But so far only few people got interested. -

Well, this one is not so bad, but two others didn't much look like game's orlans at all. -

I'll repost this again for those who are asking where and what portraits are needed for the game: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/94345-portraits-folder-for-custom-player-portraits/?p=1950542 -

You need two watercolor portraits, one is 90x141 the other 76x96. The first one for conversations with other NPCs, the second one for scripted interactions. -

I think people are bored around here, no new beta or other significant news to talk about. So they sit here and write essays about aspects of this and that portrait. That's all fine, just don't make moderators close this thread for off topic, me and other people still need it for watercolor portraits. -

Um, are you gonna use all of them? Cuz, you know, I'd rather people posted only portraits they will definitely use, not just for the collection. These take time to make. -

I think anon's Aloth captures his PoE1 portrait better though (i.e., a little meek). Not sure about that, but that POE1 portrait is still awesome. Dunno why the dev artist changed returning companions portraits so much, nothing was broken. -

Hmm, can't say that I like anon's Aloth either - he too looks like somebody else. Female portraits are nice though, no doubt about it. Would have even considered switching Pallegina's portrait, since it's my least favourite among the new ones, but anon's portrait lacks that certain snarky expression that I find suits her best. -

I can barely recognize Eder in it and it looks way too old. Are there any other portraits from that guy? Aloth? Blue guys? -

It's just a coping mechanism. Fat, ugly people don't have to accept they're unattractive if they convince themselves the attractive people in video games are "unrealistic". And what kind of argument is that anyway? Dragons aren't realistic either. Might as well ban dragons from video games. Shhh, shhh, not so loud, least it gets spread to BioWare - they've already banned beautiful women from their games, let's not let them take out dragons from Dragon Age. -

While I don't like SJW either, you sound like a complete a**hole here. That doesn't mean she's wrong. Well, I think it's a hyperbolic exaggeration, so yes, I think this person is wrong. Oh that was no hyperbole. Thankfully, where I live we don't have to cow tow to SJWs, their gender agendas or whatever and can just call things what they are. But then again, it's just my opinion, no need to get worked up about it. -

Being ugly somehow makes a character more unique? Interesting. Anyway, it's escapism. Not sure what's wrong with wanting attractive characters in your fantasy game. I agree. These portraits look very pretty and someone took a great effort at remaking them (except for Maia, cuz that's just the original portrait), so kudos to that someone. And kudos to the original dev artist, of course. Now if somebody will want to run a party full of super hot ladies they'll have their chance As a female myself, I too like to see confident and beautiful women in the media, they're simply pleasant to look at and there is nothing wrong with that. And I've yet to hear a good reason why women should look ugly in a video game, never minding all that SJW crap that is being fed down our throats lately by misogynists and ugly fat chicks who are just being jealous.
