  1. I do it mainly to relax, I have built dozens of good CAD Lego models -including a ridiculously big strip shovel mining excavator which I guess is as tall as me- but I do not have the cash to order the parts to build them. In some cases I'd need to spend more than a grand on a single model. This is why my models share the fate of yours, they perish - in my case because I strip them for parts for newer models. I guess cannibalism among Lego models is a fairly common occurrence. Fortunately I stopped doing that so I can finally build at least a small collection.
  2. Thank you. I think this took me 4 days (4x 3 hours) Like always, it only takes me about 1-2 hours to convert the idea in my head into a basic model. What takes much longer is making countless small modifications and improvements to the design until its completely different and much better than what I started with. The most frustrating part is checking if the parts used are available from various sources, sometimes this requires lots of improvising which means finding work-around solutions for non-available parts - this requires some thinking.
  3. Its my own design entirely - the only Lego I buy is the parts which I need to build my own CAD models.
  4. Since I'm a huge fan of the 24 hour endurance race series I decided to build my own LMP1. Of LEGO of course. Approx 1000 parts, aerodynamically sound with working front and rear diffusers, swan neck rear wing, working air flow tunnels, detailed interior etc. It was a lot of fun to build!

  6. Since nuclear weapons have been used defensively for the past 70 years they're simply nothing else than means for self protection and balance. Of course the US on its crusade for world domination despises the idea of non-US compliant countries being able to have some form of passive defense. As for nuclear weaponry getting into the wrong hands, I think we've already crossed that point a long time ago.
  7. Why should the US have all the nukes in the world but not Iran?
  8. Yes, its way harder to ignore bad payment and dreadful work than your douchy colleges.
  9. Do they all have to be done tonight? Lots of caffeine. And then some more. And...I know it's hard, but try not to spend 2 hours on each photo. *wink* Yes, but I'm making progress, one photo only takes me approx 30 minutes to finish. Also being tired from weight lifting doesn't help at all, but the biggest problem is I have to get up early tomorrow because there is so much to do. Whooopieee! The only upside is those pics are from my model photo shoot and I could think of worse things than looking at pictures of extremely hot women in scantly clad steam punk clothes.
  10. I have to edit so many photos and its already so late in the night. Help.
  11. With a good diet, reasonable exercise plan that incorporates some off days for recovery and good form there is no problem with pushing your NATURAL limits. Naturally you will hit an invisible wall before you can do any serious damage*. Beyond natural is where thing gets problematic. (* of course, my statement does not apply to those suffering from severe idiotism. )
  12. Might have something to do with the crazy steroid abuse and doping. Being a professional athlete has absolutely nothing to do with being healthy.

  14. Ordered some 24 Heures du Mans fan merchandise from the official shop in France. The 24 hour sports car race in Le Mans is like the super bowl in motor sports which I can only enjoy when I'm wearing the newest official 24 hour T-Shirt while drinking beer out of a Le Mans mug. Oh, I still need to get some tricoleur flags - Viva la France!! One can never be too prepared for the greatest event in the year!
  15. In motor sport they use several layers of transparent peel-off foil on the front wind shield. When the car comes into the pit the crew does not waste any time cleaning the windshield, they simply peel off one layer of that foil and its perfectly clean again. I think they have ten layers on the glass! Thats what I want on all the surfaces in my house.

  17. Today I finally managed to shoot decent groups with my 22 at 100 meters.
  18. Took a nap, woke up multiple times because I growl while sleeping. Yes, the past couple of weeks I've started to growl in my sleep which makes me wake up several times per night. I don#t think its snoring because the sleeping position does not seem to matter and I wake up fresh and energetic. I really sound like a growling dog and I wake up because its so loud, heck, I can even hear it in my dreams. A couple of nights ago a friend of mine woke me up because he thought he heard an animal LOL. Its still annoying, especially since it starts right when I'm falling asleep. Plus my teeth hurt because I'm, grinding them. So..is Lycanthropy treatable?
  19. In my opinion common sense is simply another term for low level logical thinking skills - which is a built-in skill.
  20. Funny, even though I'm an exercise nut I haven't got an opinion on this topic. To have one I'd first have to take people seriously who do lack even the most basic amount self discipline, control and common sense.
