  1. Picked the unique classes I haven't seen a hundred times before in other RPG's. Thats Cypher, Priest, Chanter, Barbarian, ranger and Druid.
  2. You made a second account just to harass people in boring threads? Dude, you better take your pills and get yourself a life. Thats something you have to get used to, if you ride your bike in heavy traffic you can be as fast as the cars and go with the flow of the traffic, no cars pass you and you can act like a motorized vehicle. IMO its way more uncomfortable to ride your bike on express ways with cars and trucks passing you with 90 kmh only a meter away, I've done that for years and I'll never get used to it.
  3. Today I contacted like a dozen shops for reloading equipment about the availability of a specific type of bullet. Its a great bullet, cheap, accurate, has a great crimp groove and three of my rifles love them, sadly its manufactured in Serbia and the general importer -who holds the exclusive rights to import stuff from this manufacturer- is an incompetent unreliable dimwit. They're all sold out and don't accept backorders because availability in the coming year is highly uncertain. I can't even order them from overseas because the new ITAR regulations of the US prevent me from ordering parts of ammunition. No brass, no projectiles, no primers, nothing because I could be a bloody terrorist. Further proof that monopolies and ridiculous export regulations destroy the economy / world.
  4. Oby, stop violating the rules or I'll report you. This thread is not meant to be a replacement for the ''hopefully attractive women'' thread that got locked thanks to your pathetic trolling. Its about talking about OUR fitness stuff here. Accept this or LEAVE and make your own thread.
  5. Might cycling be an option for you? I've never excelled at running but its a completely different story with cycling. Its also better for the joints (if you run on paved roads).
  6. Huh? Wals, where did I say or imply that having a physically active lifestyle is not enough to stay healthy? I just asked GD why he stopped lifting and that its possible to do it without overstraining his legs. About the gym being too far away, the nearest gym would be an hours drive away and I simply can't spend two hours driving / day every day. I just don't have enough motivation and determination for that. So I bought barbells, dumbbells, weights and a good bench, thats all I need. Screw gyms.
  7. I always dig them out, use the axe to cut the roots and hack the stump to pieces so I don't have to pull out the whole thing (without the help of a tractor or other mechanical devices). Its like a tooth surgery, break the tooth in pieces and pull it out. Never considered burning them an option, sounds like a cool idea.
  8. Whats stopping you from performing exercises that do not involve your legs? True, for most compound exercises you need your legs somewhere but with a good bench you can stick to upper body exercises and arm isos. Or are you simply not interested in strength exercises anymore? What made you stop?
  9. Check this out, Remington is coming up with a new smart-scope for the masses, called the 2020. http://www.guns.com/2013/09/25/remington-2020-smart-scopes-masses/ With range finder, wind-reader and auto- elevation adjustment. The first thing that popped into my mind is that they put a GPS tracker into that thing. My opinion is that its huge, ugly and for those who are too lazy to learn proper shooting skills like learning the holdovers for your loads, reading wind and guessing ranges. It IS a scope for the masses, the dumb masses.
  10. The offtopic section here was sorely missing a fitness-thread so I made one. Ta-da! Here it is! This is meant to be a place to talk about cardio exercises, strength training, weight lifting and other fitness-related things -> a place where we can post our training schedules, talk about our bicycles or weight lifting equipment, give each other exercise tips, solve fitness-related and motivational problems etc..... Newbies and couch potatoes who want to turn their lives around and get in shape are welcome! I know a thing or two about weight lifting and (road) cycling, so if you have any questions about these topics you can always ask me.
  11. I'd love to say ''hell yeah!'' but such thread would eventually turn into a post-hot-women-pics thread with Oby spamming his race BS and then it all would end in tears.
  12. What I did: 90 kg bent-over barbell rows, 8 repetitions, 3 sets. Sadly still a long way to go till I can row my own body weight 8 times but I'm slowly getting there. Very slowly. Maybe next year, spring or so... ...You know what this forum is sorely missing? A fitness thread. I'm gonna make one.
  13. The problem is, we would have to detect it VERY early, changing the flight path of a mountain-sized asteroid via gravitational forces produced by probes (thats what we can do right now) would probably take years, asteroids are moving with dozens of kilometers a second so we would have to shoot the probe(s) to the asteroid with blistering speeds. Right now I'd say we'd be totally screwed. Whose avatar? Mine? It better be, its me on a Halloween party as crazy horror butcher.
  14. What happens when you turn a huge rock into a bunch of smaller rocks? The surface increases dramatically and the energy stays the same. When the smaller pieces enter the atmosphere (assuming they're still as big as entire buildings) they heat up the atmosphere over a larger area, more than a single large object would. Breaking the asteroid into smaller pieces increases the chances of hitting an ocean AND land at the same time, so you're not only getting thousands of devastating forest fires that pollute the air and further heat up earths atmosphere you'd also get deadly floods on all coastal areas. - And that happens to be the place where most of earths population lives. So you'd get either burned or washed away. Of course, the shock wave of one large object would do massive damage and produce an enormous shock wave, in the end its a no-win situation. Getting hit by a large caliber rifle projectile or 9x 00 shotgun pellets, your day is ruined either way.
  15. And you can't blow up an asteroid anyway, without oxygen there is no pressure wave like one earth. All you'd get -even with an atomic bomb- would be lots of heat and radiation concentrated in a relatively small area. And thats it. *edit* If the asteroid consists of rock AND ice however you can insta-melt the ice, it vaporizes and creates lots of pressure probably blowing up the asteroid.
  16. The only time I was ''out'' was when an iron bar hit my head with the force and speed of a driving truck. Needless to say I prefer anesthetics with all their side effects over a head trauma.
  17. Me neither, I got local anesthetization and the doc pulled the tooth in mere seconds. I didn't feel a thing. I didn't even get ''knocked out'' when I got my throat surgery, again local anesthetization and they removed one of my small tonsils. That hurt though, and I had a hard time trying not to choke on the blood or swallow one of the surgical instruments. Though they asked me first if I wanted a local or a full anesthetization, I picked local because I didn't want to spend a night in the hospital.
  18. Not bad, I'll give you that. (Must have been cold there...)
  19. Cleaned my bathroom plus toilet. Good thing I served in the NBC corps, some stuff I learned there came in very handy.
  20. Hate to be a killjoy here but when your body is breaking down the alcohol you actually LOSE more nutrients along with water then the beverage contains.
