  1. Um..no it's not..it's my attemt at closing this stupid thread... From the Forum Guidelines: Spam: Posting frequent, annoying, and/or nonsensical posts are not tolerated in these forums. Posting the same message to multiple forums (also known as cross-posting) is also not permitted. Walks like a duck... Then why do you insist on posting that it is not? Is it spamming or trolling? Oh yes..class...you have none If you had any you would have tried to steer this thread back on-topic..of course you continue to spam and flame...I pitty you... Et tu, Brute? BTW, it's pity. Which is what I and others were saying all along... So, if you knew this was correct (OP, BTW, your answer is YES, it's the same person), why did you continue to post that it wasn't? You can get a thread closed by PMing the moderator. I'm sure that someone with over 2,000 posts on this forum already knew about this procedure. What do I know? I only have about 60...
  2. Actually, you're just spouting a bunch of crap that's not supported in the game and by the numerous clues left by the developers. By any definition, it's spam. Mandalore is not supported as being a droid! Contrary to your uninformed "opinion". Your continued presense in this thread claiming that T3 made him is unmitigated bull****. At least I agree with you that you are not one of the posters mentioned above. They, at least, seem to have some class...
  3. I thought that she only had one slot available for melee combat? Also, you can't use her as a Jedi yet (or can you? Nar Shaddaa is my third planet) because she hasn't joined your party yet?
  4. Dang, you must really be going for DS points. :D
  5. No classes in fencing. Just kendo. Let's just say that hilts aren't that varied... In the heat of battle, it's not always obvious where the second blade is pointing. How many machine guns do you see with barrels pointing at 90 degress from the main axis? I hate to say this yet again, but a lightsabre blade is not made out of light. It's a plasma beam. It takes a moment for the superheated gas to be forced through the emitter in response to the force field that contains it. Which is why the whole deactivation/activation of the lightsabre in the heat of combat is simply not that good of an idea. Hopefully, I've taken a good stab at it above. <cue drum noise for awful pun> So, they don't share the same power source? Why would the sabre be any different than the sinuous sabre carried by Asajj Ventress where the two hilts were S-curved when combined together? For that matter, why would an L-shaped sabre have any inherent advantage over the offset-sabre handle as carried by Dooku (arguably one of the best sabre hilt ideas out there). You still haven't shown why it would be the best idea. Your proof is based on already proven wrong ideas as to how a lightsabre works. How could the duel be over before it's even started if the recipient of your "best idea ever" notices that the handle is already L-shaped? Don't you think that they would be suspicious of that huge assymetrical design and avoid being in the path of the beam if you managed to turn it on in combat? That's because many of your topics are starting to look like spam. No offense intended, but they're pretty off-the-wall. I didn't think the original post was in regard to "impaling" the foe with an off/on strike. I thought the point was to turn off the sabre so that the foe's blade wouldn't stop your swing so that you could make a cutting strike. If you've ever looked at the lightsabre battles from a weapons point of view, you'll notice that there aren't any point parries. It's all designed to hit the blade at an angle to deflect a cutting strike. IIRC, there aren't any point thrusts shown at all in the movies. P.S. It was explained to me by someone in the Corps that ex-Marine means you were kicked out. If you received an honourable discharge, you are to be referred to as a former Marine, not an ex-Marine. Thankfully, I didn't make that mistake to my dad's face (honourably discharged in 1967).
  6. Problems with L-shaped sabre: 1) You are just as likely to turn on the second blade when it's pointed right at your own head. 2) The opponent is attuned to the force and is likely to know all about when and how you are going to turn on your second blade, thus negating the strategy. 3) The throw and retrieval of the lightsabre has nothing to do with aerodynamics, a la the boomerang. There is no plane surface on the lightsabre that causes the lightsabre to "return to sender". Finally, this thread has nothing to do with yours. Instead of threadcrapping, why don't you repost your poll?
  7. No, a blacklight is an Ultraviolet light. As I've already pointed out at least twice in this thread. It is only "black" because the spectrum of light that is produced is beyond which human eyes can see. The disadvantage with an ultraviolet lightsabre is that it may not be invisible to non-humans. The other unfortunate side effect is if you approach materials that are fluorescent. This material "downshifts" the ultraviolet light into a visible spectrum. When fluorescent materials are used at night in the presence of a blacklight (ultraviolet light) the material appears to glow. However, it is simply reflecting a downshifted spectrum. You would still have the humming effect of the sabre, so it won't be stealthy. Hey, if you need stealth use a vibroblade! Now, if you want to propose a "dark energy" blade produced by "dark matter" (of which we know almost nothing about) there could plausibly be "dark plasma" which would effectively "suck" energy as opposed to giving out energy, a la standard plasma.
  8. In my current game, I am now playing with a Cyan saberstaff (it stands out from all the rest of the colors) and I gave Visas two short green sabres. For some reason, I've only received short lightsabres throughout this game. I still have Dxun/Onderon to finish, though... BTW, has anyone equipped Kreia with a lightsabre? She apparently carries a hidden one...
  9. Yes, I knew he was goading a reply. However, if someone is going to post a thread like this, I'm going to attempt to at least point out why it's a bad idea!
  10. Visas will admire you for sticking up for your principles even while proclaiming that this will weaken you. I have always gained influence with her regardless of my actions, but as I go towards LS Mastery, most of my actions aren't thuggy. Maybe the reason why she proclaimed her love for me is because I didn't convert my team members (including Handmaiden) to Jedi...
  11. The first time through, I went through about 40 Advanced Health Packs to try to keep her alive. The second time through, I upgraded her Treat Injury so that she wouldn't go through as many. Despite TI being a cross-class skill, she gets so many skill points that I was holding back skills for her close to the end leveling. I also leveled her by putting points into DEX, maxed out Blaster Rifle, and gave her Improved Rapid Shot. Then I chose the two Close Combat feats for her. So now it only took 3 Advanced Health Packs to keep her alive. This allowed me to take on the assassins without running around, stealthing around, or laying mines.
  12. EU = Extended Universe This is from the books, comics, cartoons, etc.
  13. Not true at all. I just took her everywhere with me (LS Mastery) and she offered her love to me. I wasn't even expecting it...
  14. Yes, you get a "love" option with her.
  15. You wouldn't have to change the spectrum, i.e. the electromagnetic spectrum. You would have to shift the light to the non-visible portions of the spectrum, i.e. infra-red or lower or ultra-violet or higher. I can see it now... The Gamma Ray Lightsaber! Gives new meaning to the term deathstick.
  16. Considering that you think RotJ was the best of the films, I'm going to have to take this review with a grain of salt. It doesn't really matter, because my wife and I are going on a lunch date on Saturday and then we're going to watch the film. :D
  17. By definition, the lightsaber is still going to show up a "color" even if using a clear crystal. All the crystal's going to do is cause the plasma to carry the color of the focusing crystal. If there is no color, i.e. clear, the resultant plasma will be all colors, i.e. white. Nothing you do is going to change the fact that the lightsaber is going to emit in the electromagnetic spectrum. The only thing you can do is shift it above or below the visible spectrum to make the blade appear to not be there. There's also a physics problem with the lightsaber definition. It's described as a blade that is infinitely renewable unless touching something (which is when the plasma actually immolates the item) and then the lightsaber's power is reduced. However, the mere fact that the lightsaber is giving off energy in the form of the electromagnetic spectrum means that it's bleeding off energy. Okay, so I am a true nerd...
  18. And OE "forgot" to record him muffled for a few lines and it's the exact same voice.
  19. I made the mistake of not having any Jedi on my team because I took Visas with me on the planet mission and I can't stand Kreia (though I didn't know that she adds a 5% experience bonus when she's in your party in my last game) and I didn't convert any of my "followers" to Jedi. Party members were Handmaiden, Bao-Dur, and Mandalore. The fight with the Sith Lords actually didn't last that long for me. It was the plains that I had a problem, go figure...
  20. I gained LS points on Dantooine. I didn't kill them, but Kreia did... Did no one else try submitting to them?
  21. How about the opposite plot hole where the PC for some odd reason doesn't understand T3?
  22. I chose Black in the poll, but I would take Violet if I couldn't get Black. Why black? 'Cause it would match my wardrobe. I think I may have five or ten pieces of clothing that aren't black... Another way of getting a "black" lightsaber would be the ultraviolet lightsaber. They don't call UV sticks blacklights for no reason. :D
  23. Neither TWF nor Dueling work with ranged weapons. Two-handed blasters benefit directly from points put into the Weapon Proficiency: Blaster Rifle, Weapon Focus: Blaster Rifle, and Weapon Specialization: Blaster Rifle feats.
  24. Oh, could be. My first and only game ended at Level 27 (18 Sentinel, 9 Watchman) so I didn't get anywhere near the cap.
  25. Unarmed Combat is a direct increase in damage. It's probably in there for exactly why the OP is upset about this. Thankfully, you get this feat and its subsequent upgrades just by leveling and it doesn't cost you anything. I don't know why Obsidian made this a forced choice as opposed to how it was in KotOR I, but in a way I prefer having a feat for it and it a way it's bad because it wastes a feat that could be used elsewhere (though you have a lot of feats available thanks to being able to go to Level 40).
