http://jesawyer.tumblr.com/post/156448088931/so-weve-got-obsidians-biggest-grognard-as-lead It seems an easier way to stop afflictions is coming, and some elemental magic can neutralize other kinds of damage. will we be able to set Slicken locations on fire? Cover enemies in water and freeze them? Or is this just for afflictions, and their removal.

No idea. It jumped around 150k in less than an hour though.

Me too. Which is why I'm admittedly overeager for it to hit it's goal asap. At its current pace I expect it will be funded in about 10-12 hours. Edit: then it goes and jumps like 70k in 25-30 mins to 850k. If Europe pulls some numbers now that they are waking up we might see some stretch goals today.

dual wield pistols

Although, you're probably right and they handwavium it away. There were a lot of requests for sheathing/holstering your weapons. If they include that it would make the animation easier. -

A lot of pirates tied their weapons (usually a small handful) around their neck, and dropped them after firing. Could be a similar thing where they let one go, reload, drop, grab other pistol reload, etc. However, typically pirates would move to their melee weapon after firing all their guns. -

I think so. I wonder how they will balance that. Pistols were in an odd place in the first game. Short range, didn't do as much damage as the arquebuss, etc. This might be their way to balance it. Along with damage tweaks, of course. They might also be easier on reload time than the other guns. -
I think a lot of people, which funded the original KS, that were expecting an Infinity Engine game will pass this time around. I'm still of an opinion that Obsidian bait n' switched with the original KS. I understand that, but then again... A lot of new people picked the game up on release and enjoyed it. Many of those people weren't beholden to preconceptions about the IE games. They could fill that void. I hedged my bets on how good the first game would be, and was content. Not ecstatic, but content. The White March content was great, though. As an avid fan of the IE games, I'm more than willing to fund this. As they aren't starting from scratch again, I expect a better experience.
