  1. Eh, and suddenly goes from funny to creepy. Yikes.
  2. Try that stunt in a café in Vienna and you'll very quickly learn why the waiters (in Vienna) are generally thought of as unfriendly. Bonus points when you're German and just order a Kafffffe.
  3. They're all named after musicians or groups. Santana and Lisa Lisa are too, as is SHIIIIIISAAAAAAA's last name. JoJo's is an endless well of music references.
  4. Yeah, liek, no. Just the old guy type who likes to sneak up on young girls. edit:
  5. Almost got a smartphone upgrade too. https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2021/12/this-lost-game-boy-add-on-could-have-pre-dated-the-smartphone
  6. You're in good company, I think @KP the Torque Dork keeps one of these too. Though probably less encrypted... but no less stalkery. IIRC he even calls it "obsidianstalking.txt" or something like that.
  7. Are they as creative about it as ours is? Because our Ministry of Finance embezzled money through funding fake studies, one of which was actually on the topic of fighting corruption and embezzlement in government divisions. Gotta appreciate the chutzpah, if nothing else.
  8. Speaking of which, I just had a major, hearty laugh: No, but he picked a creepy inn as vacation spot.
  9. Speaking of JoJo's, DIO voices Nagisa's father on Futari wa Pretty Cure and it's pretty distracting.
  10. Are we talking about Netflix originals or anime published by Netflix outside of Japan too? Not entirely sure I've watched any actual originals besides Devilman Crybaby, and Orbital Children, and I'm not done with that yet. If it includes published stuff, how can you say that when there's Sailor Moon Eternal...
  11. But Gorthfuscius, surly you mean violence by Black Lives Matter ? Our friends from the alt-right are peaceful ! Do you think their Antifa false flags ?
  12. So, thanks to all the articles on the matter being really terrible, nobody linking a clip or at least providing a useful transcript of the joke I just went ahead and watched parts of it on Netflix. I'm finally going to make myself an internet persona non grata (after successfully having poorly reflected on myself so very recently ), but I don't get it. I don't mean the joke, I don't get the outrage. I think that if you're actually outraged* about the joke, then you're not getting it, or at the very least lack the context of the entire bit, the nuances and the intention, and are just angry at having read something that told you to be angry at something. Congratulations. If there's anything, then that it feels a little lame (not mild, just not working all that well), because I've seen similar setups being executed much better before, but that's not Jimmy Carr's fault, as I'm pretty sure he didn't copy from Serdar Somuncu who made his whole carreer with being equally "terrible" in his jokes**, except all in German, which is pretty hilarious considering Germans are usually a bit less concerned with freedom of speech and expression. Pretty sure there's a language barrier to consider, even if it actually also contains the same pre-face and trigger warning about being politically incorrect, so he's very unlikely to have been inspired by Serdar Somuncu. *One can still find it in poor taste while understanding what Carr meant by it. Especially after stating what he meant. That people are clamoring for his cancellation gives it a certain hilarity on a meta level that was sorely lacking from the joke. Insofar, the attempt at meta-humor worked better than the intention and execution of the actual joke. **Best example as it really pertains to this more than the others he's done was to contrast the outrage of the Islamic terror attacks on Charlie Hebdo and the Bataclan with the absolute lack of outrage whenever Boku Haram commits terror attacks that by all means displaced, maimed and killed more people by a factor of a thousand, because nobody cares about dead "Bimbos" (German derogatory term for people of African descent, very similar to the English n-word).
  13. Bit of a quick PreCure post: This has been consistently entertaining and since the new villain showed up actually pretty good too. Still early in the season so it could potentially degenerate into Sailor Moon SuperS and start having pedophile alicorns called Pegasus or an evil circus and stuff, but if the worst criticism I can come up with is that the setup is derivative and the EVIL KING being one of the most Saturday Morning Cartoon-villainesque, uhm, villains so far, then I've seen much worse, and a lot of that. A few better shows too, but not nearly as many. Well, I'll know in 35 episodes - or maybe after the second season, because these two get another season. Hmm.
  14. Here's my original post on it: An appreciation for the same sort of absurdist, fourth wall breaking humor, at least. I can also proudly claim to not have gotten the insane collector's Naruto reference until someone pointed it out to me that her calling Jashin Omo...something is a reference to it. Whatever reference it actually is, because I'm not going to look it up, but maybe there's a snake-lady in Naruto too.
  15. Social Media would be my guess, and welcome to the EU Serbia, lol.
  16. Nah the forum software blocks embedded links unless you accept them when you’re in the EU. Sarex isn’t so that’s a bit weird though. Accept them means allow them in the cookie settings for the forums.
  17. I didn't look it up, how much time passed in between? Maybe they all just thought that's what the fans wanted. I mean... sounds like Ranma 1/2 all over again. Guess it would be worse if they made generic trash on purpose. How long is that follow up TV show? If it's not too many episodes then maybe watching the OVA is still worth it, because that really sounds like a nice watch. Heh, well, when your main character looks like this: There's no real way you'll be able to turn him into a "cool" anti-hero like, dunno, Deadpool or something, and so there wasn't even an attempt. Sure there's the occassional contrivance like when he accidentially stumbles into a bank robbery, but overall it's pretty damned good. The first episode was supposed to be a pilot to be picked up by a different TV station for a shared German/Austrian crime serial project of much lesser quality, and thankfully wasn't picked up and reworked into a standalone serial. The reason was the thick dialect/accents. The German TV station felt like they'd need to make subtitles for the episodes. I mean, in a way, I get it, I guess.Still, turned out pretty well that way, can't complain. The episodes are actually on YouTube. It's mostly dialogue and character interactions, and not understanding them makes linking anything a tad, say, pointless. Fun fact, that was actually a crime serial spinoff of a slice of life comdey TV series that had a seven year run. Which was also pretty great. And also pretty pointless, and because it's the sort of comedy that's only funny with a certain amount of cultural appreciation, it would probably fall flat even with subs. Ah, pity. Oh, I don't disagree. I just felt the need to reiterate that I've unintentionally watched more of his, uhm, work, and it all comes with similar problems. Only, like, way worse than they were in K-On!...
  18. Ah, you mean Bestow Grace, that's something Seelah's not going to reach. She'll be too busy being better at singing than she'd ever be at playing Paladin.
  19. Is this some secret code? In that case... uhm. 2,2,4,4?
  20. The two levels of Paladin are there to provide Divine Grace for the MC plus some bonus feats. Considering I'll end up having a +11 to saves that way before the Court Poet buff, that's going to be a great finishing touch to the build. It's a caster/melee hybrid. Buff, go BRRR, loot. At least that's the general idea. I mean, sure, Angel spells being what they are, mook groups can just be blown apart. See, now that's a good idea, with the Nature Mystery I can work a pet in there as well. Sorry Nenio, it's the bench for you this time around. Any takers for a Dragonform'ed Wolf? Huh. No, I don't have any mods installed at the moment, but the important buffs are going to last a while before long anyway. I can live with that.
  21. Finally started an unfair run, i.e. begin on Unfair difficulty, never change. In order to make this less tedious, I made a Lawful Good Kindred Half-Elf Oracle. Started with 21 CHA, Nature Mystery, Wolf-Scarred and Nature's Whispers. Dumped DEX, took a dip in Scaled-Fist Monk and will eventually take two levels of Paladin. With my entire defense scaling based on charisma (and the neat double AC scaling) Seelah will once again turn into a Court Poet. Planned character progression for the initial bits is Second Mystery Ancestors for the Spirit Shield revelation and Master Shapeshifter for some extra hilarity with Use Magic Device'd Dragonform scrolls. Might actually make a Brown-Fur Transmuter mercenary instead of taking Nenio for even more bonus stats on those transmutations. Seems like a bit of a waste given Seelah's ability to boost caster stats which isn't exactly necessary for a glorified buff bot with a secondary role as blaster caster (well, that'll still help Ember), but Extend spell plus the Arcanist Exploits should make even those really short buffs last ridiculously long, and it's kinda hard to argue with even more bonus stats, huh? I expect the combat is going to look like: Prebuff. Oracle goes BRRRRRRRR. Loot.
  22. What else? More like the guy who wrote Love Live! later (and, uhm, Steins;Gate), but yeah, blaming things on Sawako is NEVER wrong.
  23. I got through 13 episodes with only three or so posts, that should be all right in the end, but be my guest. If so then I don't know any names for it, at least, but yes, there are definitely similarities between the three. Considering that Honoka's VA is Meiling from CCS, I expect that she was told to try and sound like Tomoyo, because... for a moment I thought that was actually really Junko Iwao. But nah, it's "just" Meiling.
