  1. From what I've seen, aside from a few "dedicated" BLM supporters most liberal SJW types seem to support Sanders. I suspect once he fails they'll all jump over to Clinton because American Democracy. You're both terrible.
  2. Or you know, it could simply be based off people's interactions with them and the fact that their entire "movement" is some massive internet hissyfit over "ethics in game journalism". Jesus people thought Anita and whatsit going to the U.N to discuss online harassment was a "first-world problem".
  3. "It's a media conspiracy that no one takes me seriously"
  4. I absolutely hate historians that moralise and divorce characters from their historical context but even with that in mind Columbus' actions were considered pretty deplorable at the time. If I recall correctly a Spanish priest named las Casas (writing about 50 years later) worked his butt off writing about the horrible conditions of the natives and colonialism. Amusingly (in a horrible way) to prevent the entire native population from being enslaved/wiped out he advocated the use of African slaves thereby kickstarting the most brutal slave trade in human history (I believe he later came to regret that).
  5. Saudi Arabia is p. conservative, yet I would not call them free or economically successful... Mississippi is incredibly conservative and its the poorest state in the U.S.
  6. Ok https://twitter.com/Capcom_UK/status/641264964175532032 Lied right to my face.
  7. Are you a hafiz? If not then I'd find it a tad, bold, to claim who is and who is not correctly interpreting their holy text (pet peeve). With little knowledge of the contents of the Quran I'm going to guess it reflects the attitudes and mores of 7th century Arabia with the actual ideological interpretations by adherents being dependent on the material conditions of its followers. I.e. If there's political and economic stability they'll be relatively peaceable; if they're living in a bombed out third world country with rampant poverty, they will not.
  8. I wish they'd port Dragon's Crown to PC.
  9. Does it have to "trigger" a lived event to be considered triggering? I recall watching the infamous Budd Dwyer suicide footage and then stupidly showing the person next to me without giving them sufficient context. They freaked out and broke down crying. I figured that would count as a "triggering". Or maybe tumblr has rotted my brain. Idk. So like I said, sensible understandable thing that the internet ruined.
  10. I thought it was Henry the Navigator who was 'given' that honour.
  11. A warning put in front of content that may "trigger" someone. An obvious example being newscasts that warn about "shocking imagery" such as dead bodies or what have you. Naturally with the internet being the internet it has been reduced to basically "anything that may offend". E.g. content that discusses sexual dimorphism would require a trigger warning for those who don't "identify with" or "believe in" biological sexes.
  12. Honestly despite its many, many flaws I found Far Cry 2 to be the most enjoyable of the ones I've played.
  13. Oh wow, didn't realise people are actually going so far as to say online harassment is "almost non existent".
  14. There's a "full campaign" (Squadron 42) and an online mulitplayer universe with players and NPCs (Star Citizen).
  15. I haven't been keeping up with SC development (despite it being one of the few games I've actually backed) but according to a friend the Escapist article was straight up trashy clickbait journalism. True or no it really seems to have hurt their reputation or at the very least "legitimized" the Chicken Little cries that have been surrounding the project since the beginning.
