Didnt we have to create one for SWTOR?

Thats the double edge sword of free speech, you have to listen to the yahoo's too.

Yeah, Im already gravitating back to WoW myself. While there are still quest left to do in Illum, lately my SW gaming has consisted of: Hang out in space station spamming looking for a flashpoint, after ten minutes I fly to Voss where I still have a few Heroic 4's and spam the 25 people there, when that fails I fly to Belsaris to try to wrap one up, when that fails I fly to...I think you get the point. Im tired of there being nothing to do. Maybe I need to join a guild.

Keep trying, they're getting much better.

Yeah, that was a mistake, I forgot about the $30 tier. Everyone who donated $100 or more should get $15 games free for the rest of their lives. You know, as investers should be rewarded. I dont care in the least but lets call a spade a spade. I was simply using the publicly available information to dispute that nobody was giving money as charity.

50k? Do you mean 5k? We lost more guys storming Iwo Jima.

Here, let me approach this from a different angle. As of right now 35000 people have contributed 1.3 million dollars. 19000 paid $15 for a $15 game bundle 12600 paid $30 for the same $15 game bundle (thus donating $15 in charity) 2600 paid $100 for the same $15 game bundle (thus donating $85 in charity) 763 paid $250 for the same $15 game bundle (thus donating $235 in charity) 81 paid $1000 for the same $15 game bundle (thus donating $985 in charity) 10 paid $5000 for the same $15 game bundle (thus donating $4985 in charity) 1 paid $10000 for the same $15 game bundle (thus donating $9985 in charity) Preorders werent just invented yesterday. Anyone could have gone to the website prior to this and ordered a $15 game. If all 35000 "investors" had simply preordered the game it would have only totaled $525,000 (35k x 15). Instead, through charitible donations, the total haul is a whopping 1.3 mil and climbing. Of course, Im sure the extra $900,000 will be poured back into the game. And just fyi guys, an investment is something that you put into hoping to get equal or more back. Not something you wildly overpay for to get the same base product. They should give everyone that donated more than $15 free games for life.

Thinking about what, a business model that can only succeed when financed through charity? You can bet your left nut this isnt the last time they will ask for "help", a monster has been created.

No, I do not know anything about Tim Schafer. Im sure hes a helluva guy, loves mom and apple pie and regularly helps the tards. Like I said, its my perception thats rubbing me the wrong way. They obviously couldnt get the game funded through conventional methods so they did what any red blooded American company would do, mussed up their hair, turned their pockets inside out and held open a loot bag for everyone else to fill. Then, even after doubling their needs, still keep the gravy train rolling. You know, for future projects. I think that last point is what bothers me the most. Just one mans opinon, nothing to see here.

I guess it just irks me because I percieve it as a cash grab that takes advantage of the end users emotions. I know you guys dont honestly believe the game will be TWICE as good because now they have 800k, so this extra money goes directly to their pockets. I know, I know, its not my money. Why do I care? It just smells of poo to me is all. They have doubled their investment without lifting a finger. I wonder what would happen if the whole project tanked, would they issue refunds? *goes back to tilting at windmills*

I know all you guys love this kind of stuff but I find it a bit distastefull. They went to the public to beg financing for their game (which doesnt buy the donators a copy), go wildly over what they needed, but then still keep the lines open for more money. Bad form. I wonder why a studio never financed them.
-
Im not sure I understand. They wanted 400k, are currently at 800k, and everyone is falling all over themselves to donate more? For what end?

Happy Birthday!!!!

I find children to be like electricity, they will always take the path of least resistance. IMO, its the parents responsibility to nudge the child forward and with my daughter, Ill happiply finance any activity with the understanding that shes to see it through from A to Z. Of course, I never had pushback like you are describing Hurl, so I understand its probably difficult to address when shes standing there crying in front of everyone.

Ah, Im only around 6800 myself so perhaps thats the trigger. For such a big story point I expected more.

Is there ever any resolution to Khem Val's little problem? While I have yet to go to the PvP planet it feels like all the "story" portions of the game are over.

Speaking of which, in an incredible display of n00bism, on Corellion I kept getting the message "You must complete missions first" every time I tried to pick up a quest. I erroneously though that meant that I had to complete some other step before I could accept the new quest but in reality it meant my quest log was full. I felt pretty stupid when that finally dawned on me but seriously, cant the message simply say "Quest log full"?
