Update #52: Monk!
I think that's a byproduct of 3.5 & 4E which Sawyers seems to be drawing a lot of inspiration from. Everyone can do everything with little to no efficiency drop off. Make that "Everyone can do everything, although with some efficiency drop off" and it'll likely be more accurate. To me, it's like thinking of a special forces team. It's not like nobody but the medic can apply a bandage, or that the scout is the only one who can sneak. Specialists do it best, but anyone with a scoped rifle can do a passable job as a sniper. I said "little to no drop off". Is "some" more than "little"? Sawyer: "I like strawberries. Strawberries are tasty." Gfted1: "Sawyer hates strawberries." Reading comprehension FTW. Are you in the middle of having a stroke or something? You seem denser than usual.

Neverwinter Online
Im finding it fairly entertaining. Ive never actually played 4E but a response from a different thread: Okay, I misspoke a bit, I guess. I'm sure there's just enough bits and pieces of D&D rules in there to satisfy WotC, but as far as skills and feats and weapon damage and combat modifiers, none of that really resembles D&D at all. I mean the have things like Armor Class, and Heroic and Paragon feats, but they all work much differently than tabletop D&D, at least that's how it feels to me. I'm sure the amount of experience needed to level is likely the same as in tabletop D&D, but the way you gain experience is different. Not to mention that in tabletop D&D you're generally not going to be slicing through hundreds of mobs per hour. This is all fine with me, since tabletop D&D is a terrible system for video games in unmodified form, particularly for an MMO where you will be constantly battling huge numbers of mobs.

Summoning
I don't see how having a particular ability that is temporary and with limited castings unbalances the game any more than any other classes abilities. Summon some cannon fodder for rounds or Horrid Wilting 10 mooks at once? Seems like a wash.

Eternity Artists: Dragons should not (all) be Dragons any more!
Just like the Human Flesh +5 armor in BG2.

La neuvième art (comics you've been reading)
So I got all excited when I received an email from Marvel offering unlimited annual access for only $60.00. Then I saw this: "Read more classic and newer issues every week — added as soon as 6 months after they hit stores!" Meh, doesn't include new releases for several months.

What's going on in Boston?
3-D printed guns are a boon for criminals. In other news, it looks like Europe will have to ban printers too.

No offence Wals but that story sounds fishy from her side. Although Ive never partaken in methadone or heroin I would imagine that drinking said drink would get you wildly hammered, thus prompting one to ask themselves why they got so wasted on a drink that produces a completely different "high" from normal alcohol. And then she kept drinking them until she got addicted and moved on to heroin? Condolences that someone you care for is addicted to hard core drugs. If true, that dude is a special kind of scumbag.

What are you playing now?
I think my global name is GftedUn but if I go to perfectworld.com and log in it says Im signed in as Gfted1 so I don't really know which is which. I don't know how far ahead of me you are but feel free to add me. So that's what those alters do, I was wondering. Where do you go to learn professions? I thought I scoured the map pretty well, I found the profession mats vender, but I didn't see anywhere to learn the professions themselves. It also seems a little bit limiting that you can only have a certain number of your abilities mapped to your UI.

What are you playing now?
Also playing NWN on the Mindflayer server as a Tiefling control mage. Name is Demoneye ( ) and I reached level 16-17 yesterday and got myself a Cleric companion, which totally makes my life easier. Its pretty fun if standard for MMO's. I really hate the checkpoint save system and prior to getting my Cleric companion I was blowing through healing potions and constantly running back to the fire to heal which was a major PITA. I can only imagine how badly that mechanic will suck in P:E since that universe doesn't even offer healing pots.

SW: The Old Republic Part 5
My main is an Inq and in my case the second part of the story was getting boring and the ending (last 4 leves) got pretty exciting! In case you haven't reached the end of the SI story I will spoiler tag the rest:

Limiting rest areas
No they don't. Its all about the implementation, not the existence of the mechanic. And what does that have to do with mods?
-
Limiting rest areas
Inventory, resting, kill xp and healing have nothing whatsoever to do with D&D.
-
Limiting rest areas
Hopefully its bundled with: Rest Anywhere, Kill XP and Here Are Some Healing Capabilities So You Don't Have To Hump Up From The 11th Level Of The Endless Paths To Heal.

More like, "I hope you don't expect me to catch that hedgehog." Slightly related, my neighbors cat left us a "present" on our back patio in the form of a dead baby rabbit. I was impressed that a cat could run down a rabbit but kinda bummed when I had to pick up the corpse and throw it away.

What you did today
I would caution against calling them a dumbass. I'd say they were resisting groupthink. An interesting read. What I was referring to was that person that just cant "get it". Even though they heard all the same information you did and participated in the group discussion, they still need to go over every little point ad nauseam. I know not every brain clicks at the same speed but man is it infuriating, lol.

By "after every login" do you mean every time you reboot your PC or every time your PC goes to sleep and you wake it up? The former should happen, the latter should not. The former. Huh, I didnt know you could stop that with a toggle. I guess if its really driving you nuts you could remove that .exe from your startup routine?
