  1. I like : The Raidmax Titan ans Samurai series cases. They come in many colours...
  2. Mmm.... I hear the X-BOX has quick loadtimes... OH wait.... thats only if you copy the game to your hard drive.... Ofcourse, it all depends on what your definition of quick is. For me quick is 1 minute like on the lightning fast 733MHz X-BOX processor! WOW 733MHZ!!! I wish I had something like that. just kidding X-BOX users, its nothing personal. I just don't like consoles.
  3. Hmm... ok thanks for everyone's help. I re-tried it about 50 times and managed to get it to work. Its just an annoying bug in the game. I finally solved the problem by changing one of the boolean operators.
  4. where can i have one? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You can find tons of tools and mods here @ Holowan Laboratories Another excellent mode site. It has the savegame editor. Here is the exact link to the savegame editor. Its the latest version.
  5. If you are looking for a nice sound solution, I'd reccomend an Audigy 2 ZS and a Z-5300 speaker system. I know a friend who has the Z-5300 and its truly amazing. It retails for around $120 US in most stores. The Audigy 2 card has dropped in price and its now around $70 US. The benefit of the A2 besides having a 7.1 (7.1 systems still expensive though...) sound capable card is the firewire port on the Audigy 2 card. I know that when I bought my computer from Dell, the mobo they gave me had no firewire ports (its their budget version... we're dealing w/ Dell remember?). Anyways, if you have a firewire port, then just stick w/ the Intel audio because the sound card doesnt make as much a difference as the speakers. As long as the card supports 5.1 sound, you'll be good. You don't need to spend $450 and buy a ridiculously overpriced speaker system like the Gigaworks S750 from Creative. However, if you want a 7.1 system without spending too much money, you can buy the Creative Inspire T-7700 but I'm not sure about their quality. I know they retail for cheap (maybe $80 US... I don't know)
  6. Precisely. The number of things you can do on a PC is so much more than what you can do on an X-BOX. I can do work/programming such as word processing, coding etc. I can also chat w/ friends using instant messaging, use the telephone on the PC (w/ a dialup connection ofcourse) etc. If people say that you cant play console games on PC, you can probably use an emulator and play all the games for console on PC. You also get access to PC games aswell. Hope so. The main issues I have with consoles are that (1) it's a completely closed platform so there's bugger all you can do if it goes wrong -- on a PC even if you're using closed source software like almost games are there's often a way of jiggering with it even if you run into an unpatched bug, and (2) the consoles' graphics quality and so ons tend to pander to the lowest common denominator and I'm a GeForce 6800GT-owning snob So about the same arguments as everyone else here. Blimey. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly, if you have a 6800 series card, then there is no point in going for a console. To me, it would just be a waste of money. My card alone outperforms the X-BOX. I would rather have 1 6800 Ultra Extreme Edition card than 5 X-BOX systems.
  7. Glad to know that I'm not the only person w/ this problem.
  8. Heh... I'd rather use a savegame editor. Atleast that way, you can do things like give your character all the force powers, all the feats, all the items, 30 of every skill and attribute. Best of all, it doesn't say Cheats Enbaled :D (You can disable the message even if you do cheat)
  9. Heh... I'll try it later. Hopefully it just needs a fresh reload.
  10. Doom 3 kind of got boring after lights dim, zombies come, zombies die then the cycle repeats itself. Ofcourse its entertaining because you can go trigger happy and shoot everybody.
  11. PC previews... I'd rather PC reviews
  12. I will refer you to this line. Killing things is the object of every FPS. Thats why its an FPS (unless you stun everyone )... I hate senseless killing which is why I think Doom 3 is complete BS. I think certain FPS games had good stories like HALO, HALO2 (I'm guessing since i dont have an XBOX), Deus Ex stuff like that. There are some comedy shooters out there too like NOLF and NOLF2 which are amusing and not meant to have a serious storyline.
  13. This is really odd. If you go to the Gamespot page for the game - http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/kotor2/index.html?q=kotor -they list the release date as Feb. 5. Will somebody over there (gamespot) get their info strait!!! Please!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> phew, thats a relief. You had me scared there for a second. Don't do that!
  14. Agreed. Besides, Bioware didn't want KotOR to be a modable game. For the longest time, people couldn't even open some of the data archives. I'm pretty sure even now that they don't know how to make new modules...
  15. That's the sad part about things... George Bush in theory has the intelligence of a human being with an IQ of 130 (Same w/ Paris Hilton...). However, in real life, a more accurate would be closer to .130 :D Its possible that people with high enough IQs are idiots too but... umm..... HEY its a theory damn it!!! I am entiteld to ramble if I want!
  16. Hahaha. Well, there are those dedicated people who would sleep outside the store for the night so that they could pick up a copy of the game. For them, I doubt they'd really care...
  17. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They can't just keep tormenting us like this. Damn it!!! How much money can they make from selling XBOX games first? What are they going to do with all of it anyways after they have covered the costs of development. Oh I forgot, when we deal with companies like LucasArts, they always manage to find new ways to waste money... February 15th........ Damn.... too long for me.
  18. Yep. Still doesn't work. Its being really stupid... Thanks for the help though. Yup, tried that too but it still doesn't work. Thanks for the help though.
  19. I am replaying KotOR and currently, I am on Korriban. I've entered the tomb of Marka Ragnos and im dealing with the assasin droid. I've been trying to find a peaceful solution but it doesn't work. I know my KotOR as I have played the game 7 times before. I've equipped everyone in my party with the Sound Dampening Stealth Unit (any stealth unit should work though). Currently, I have my PC, Jolee and Juhani in my party. I've tried various combos including : PC & Mission PC, Jolee & Mission PC & Jolee PC & Juhani PC & Carth Whenever I open the door though, the droid always attacks me which makes no sense whatsover. All the above NPCs have high stealth skills aswell. I've even tried opening the door with the other NPCs but there has been no change. I've been to Korriban twice. The first time, I just went to complete all the quests so I had enough prestige but I didn't actually go to the final test. I completed every quest except for the assasin droid one because I was having trouble then aswell. After this, I went to Manaan and discovered the Star Map. After the Leviathan, I returned to Korriban to complete the Assasin droid quest and also to get the Star map. Has anybody had this problem before? Thanks in advance.
  20. No offence but you should only get an X800 if you buy the top of the line one (Even then I don't think its worth it). An X800 PRO or SE is easily matched by a 6800 GT. A 6800 probably has the same level of performance as a X800 SE but if you unlock the extra pipelines, you will far surpass it since the improvement per clock is 33.333...% approx. While an X800 XL which has 16 pipelines is fast, it delivers the same level of performance as a GT for a higher price. An X800 XT or XT PE beats a 6800 Ultra even but the 6800 Ultra Extreme Edition card beats the XT PE in most games. The X850 series of cards are virtually the same as the X800 except for a few minor speed adjustments. An X850 XT PE matches or probably beats a 6800 Ultra EE but it costs $800 and only few places actually sell it. Dell has it on their XPS Gen 4 computers. Ofcourse, if you can shell out $800 for a video card, then I would just buy 2 nVidia 6800 series cards. You can even buy 2 standard ones for the same or lower price as an X850 XT PE and get better performance. Ofcourse, you could still buy 2 6800 GT or Ultra cards and get EVEN BETTER performance... I'm not saying that your card is bad but I'm outlining ATi's limitations.
  21. Hmm... The KotOR system analyzing tool is really stupid. My friend had a 700MHz and a 800MHz and ran KotOR on both of them. I had a 900MHz and KotOR ran smoothly on it too. I don't use it anymore though...
  22. I didn't say that they were copy cats but what I said was that they always try to top nVidia by releasing a card with slightly higher specifications. For example, when nVidia released the 6800 Ultra "Extreme Edition", ATi released the X850 series. Infact, the difference between the X800 XT Platinum Edition and the X850 XT Platinum Edition is both the core clock and memory are slightly faster (20 Mhz...) than they are on the X800 XT PE. Specs: X800 XT PE 520/1140, 16/6 X850 XT PE 540/1180, 16/6 Not to mention that the 6800 Ultra "Extreme Edition" beat the X800 XT PE in 18/40 game tests, the X800XT PE beat the 6800 Ultra EE in 11/40 game tests and the other 11 were to close to identify a winner. Thats why I hate ATi.
  23. provided he can actually hear something with that huge fan... " <{POST_SNAPBACK}> These days, integrated sound isn't all that bad. Obviously it won't deliever the performance of an Audigy 2 soundcard but you dont have to spend $80 on the sound card. I would much rather upgrade the video card or get something like a TV Tuner (if not on my video card).
  24. Get a 6600GT, you will get the same level of performance of a 9800 for a lower price.
