only one worth taking as a padawan is the handmaiden. she's already a good sword fighter and you're able to actually spar with her. you get dialog teaching her in the force so its more like actually having a padawan than some dude who just becomes a jedi out of nowhere. besides, having too many padawans is just jedi overkill.

which force sight lesson? you get two lessons on nar shadda, one when you get there triggered by walking near the far side of the central pit and the other when you're about to leave the planet. there is a third but it doesnt count cause it's a bs lesson and you dont actually gain anything except influence if you agree that she makes any sense. i know of 2 lessons that she teaches you in the ebon hawk, one i think where you just see everyone on the ship and one when you hear their thoughts (you know you got this second one when you can ask atton about it). other than that i cant think of anymore.

TSL Story From a Writers Perspective

...your supposed status as a self-described writer gives you no additional expertise or insight with which your opinion somehow becomes more valid than anyone elses. ..<{POST_SNAPBACK}> actually it does if he's a good writer, doesnt if he's not a good writer and you cant judge that by a couple of forum posts. thats why when its time to write a script or a story, you dont call the programmers to do it, you hire a writer. they usually have studied the language they write in more than the average person and can translate a story into written form better. they also use fancier words than better so it doesnt sound boring. -

and i wanted to kick kreia off the ship, we dont always get what we want. they can not take the pc alive so dead is the next option. i'm pretty sure the droid on peragus said dead was fine too. one of them said it, dont know which one. -

i dont think you even know what you're saying. they want him dead or alive. he's not coming with them alive so then it's got to be dead. usually people dont use a blaster on someone they intend to keep alive. the only times they do, they use a non lethal blast which these droids were not doing. i do understand the concept of sentences. that should be pretty obvious since i've been using them quite a bit. some of what i wrote has bad grammer but still works perfectly well for what i intended. i thought of that though it doesnt make sense why they'd land, get out, then shoot you down. it would make more sense to shoot you once you land in person or to shoot you with their ship. i dont want to argue about their technology but it doesnt seem possible to hide their energy usage. they said they werent making their own power but taking it from another location on the planet. and shielded areas are visably shielded from the corrosive atmoshphere. i think i even saw sheild structure there though i may be wrong. i believe he was saying suprise indirect attacks. kinda like that rocket to the ship as they were arriving but then they met them with blasters. they should not be so confident and attack head on if they see the jedi are not noticibly injured. you'd think his spirit would be crushed when he sees he cannot defeat anyone, even a bunch of non-jedi. still, i would prefer to just slice him in pieces and let him live out eternity in sealed containers. -

wtf are you talking about? i dont mind a good story however it's told but this story and dialog has a lot of problems. i even exited the game every once in awhile to take a break from the bad dialog. i'll give you another example: you're flying to the northern cap of telos which happen to have hk50's patrolling in the area (even though they say your ship if you landed it outside of the shielded areas would be eaten by the atmosphere, these hk50's without any kind of ship seem to be fine. this shielded area is even bigger than the other place but it barely registers on the sensors) when you get shot down. the crew is thrown through the front of the ship and as they finally get up they see the ones who obviously shot them down. now my first dialog option is something like "why did you shoot us down" or equivalently lame. second option is "what are you doing out here". its bad enough that they were too lazy to think of a decent way to meet/recruit baodur and then go to the telos acadamy that they had your ship shot down twice. (they never explain why the lasers shot at me even though i helped cerzka) the hk50's should never have even been there but if even if they were there should be no dialog from the pc to the hk50. they shot you down, that means kill on sight not lets talk about it. wtf other reason could he possibly be thinking of that these droids shot him down? the hk50's dialog is not much better. one of them got killed by a practically unarmed jedi with no powers. how can they think they have the upperhand now? and about about the stuff hk47 said about killing jedi, if they are from his programming why dont they use any of his advice like not fighting a jedi head on with blasters? and btw, stop using more blank space than actual words. its really annoying. -

the whole story and dialog seems very unprofessional. i doubt the person who wrote it is actually a professional writer. i was really disappointed with all of the jedi's (dark and light) dialog, they just spewed a bunch of crap while everyone in the game pretended it made sense. and if they're going to make a character as annoying as kreia they should at least give you an option to kick her off the ship or kill her. wtf kind of reject fortune cookie did she get her wise "dont give 5 credits to a bum or he will be killed" lesson? ffs why the hell would the mugger care if he actually earned the 5 creds or if he was just given it. either way he would have killed and taken it, how the hell is it my fault for giving him 5 credits. why the hell does my character pretend that made sense and why dont i get a "get the hell off my ship, moron" option? another thing i really hate to see is when they assume certain characters to be stronger than the pc. my character is a general from malachor 5 and my opponents are a bunch of sith rejects that just finally came out of hiding. both die very easily but the game pretends as if they were actually hard to beat. (visa "helps" me out against nihilus) the other guy sucks so much he's got the scars to prove it. imagine you punch a guy in the face and when he finally gets up with blood all over the bottom half of his face he laughs and says something like "that didnt hurt!". i dont see why my character didnt think of just slicing him to pieces and locking the parts in containers. even malak would kill these two lame excuse for sith if he saw them pretending to be sith lords. kreia is just as weak but the game is scripted to help her have at least 15 seconds of dialog before she goes down as well. -
1. gothic 1 (would have been gothic 2 but having to fight all those dragons at the end kind of killed it) 2. mafia 3. gothic 2 4. blade runner 5. deus ex 1 (the second one had some pretty cool areas, could have been a lot better) 6. dune 1 7. gta vice city 8. hitman 2 9. bloodlines 10. fallout 1 and 2 11. kotor 1 probably some more i cant remember but thats enough for now.

in obsidian's case it is to explain the main plot of the game. in every other case it is to give the player the feeling of progression, to adjust the pc to how the player wants their character to be (strong, dexterous, etc), and to give the player a reason to do whatever there is to do for xp. i think troika had a pretty good way of leveling, you get xp for progressing the story, not for every kill. so you dont have to kill and loot everyone, you just have to think of the rp part of the game instead.

he had been training maul for awhile during those episodes and was a full blown sith. even if he could keep jedi from sensing his dark side which is pretty strange that he can do that, this "sith face" thing is not optional. i dont think it even existed until recently. even the sith enemies in kotor and kotor 2 dont have the sith faces. malak had his jaw cut off but other than that he was fine. the guy with the cuts all over was just that, cut all over but no sith face. even check the sith academy teachers in kotor 1 or *spoiler*, atris. check any other sith other than the main characters of kotor 1 and 2 and you wont see once this "sith face" crap
-
the face changing is completely unnecessary and even inconsistent. the emperor in episode 1 and 2 looks normal even though he is a sith lord. he isnt any more darkside in episode 4-6 than he was in episode 1-2. vader looked like that cause most of his body was dead, hence the "more machine than man" insults. you can even look at the other old republic sith lords that are mentioned in the game, none of them have these "sith faces". makes the character look lame... i hated it in kotor 1 and they decide to focus on it in kotor 2. oh well, the whole dark side part of the game sucks, not going to hurt it that much more with this crap.

are you supposed to pay the guy to tell the exchange good things about you or bad things? i figured you had to get on their good side to infiltrate them. i'm planning on killing goto for voga if possible.

you actually have to do the dialog 3 times. you can do the same thing every time, once kreia is gone you can move on. -
bug after completing the koriban dark side cave?
kbned replied to kbned's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
so knowing the ending, is it ok to manually set her back to lightside? and does the avatar change with lightside/darkside adjustments? -
when my main character went in he was almost full lightside and did finished the cave with all the lightside choices. now when i got out i noticed the hand maiden's avatar changed and she is now full dark side. this a bug or was it supposed to happen? she was the main person i sent to the tomb on dxun and i finished that tomb with all lightside choices. anyway, just wondering if this was supposed to happen. when i ask about dxun she says she feels "peace" or whatever and wont talk about it. any way to get her to tell me? doesnt seem like there was any chance for her to go darkside without me noticing.

i already got the exchange guy to give those people more space and now cant get him to fight me. any other way to get her out? as for the strange signal, if you have high computer skill you later find out where the signal is coming from. there is a holding cell there but he wasnt in it or anywhere around. you cant turn it off and dont get any quest log updates for finding the place. pretty sure that quest ends there.

pissing contest? i have not urinated in a contesting way. seriously though i was just responding to what i consider arrogant and ignorant insults against something those 2 in particular have no ground to be insulting. you probably dont care to read the entire thing, i dont blame you. i wouldnt either but dont single me out as the instigator.

you have no friend that builds custom frames for motorcycles if you can honestly say it is easy. not even mentioning the metal fabrication, there is a lot of math that would have to go into building a custom frame. if he's taking any shortcuts and using someone else's work and calculations then he isnt building a custom one himself. of course i have never built one but for it to be street legal you also have to go through the dmv with the specs and design. if all he does is assemble someone else's work then again he's only doing a small part of the work. btw, i have done welding and no that part isnt hard but it is only a small part of the work that would go into a project such as this. as for my analogy, it applies directly to what i'm saying. it would take the same ammount of "work" from each computer to do the same thing but a faster computer could finish it faster. it was not easer for that computer, it just did the same amount of work in a shorter time. i never said i believe you made any mods, i just said i dont care. you mistook this i guess and now speak pretty confident. if making kotor skins is easy for you, how about you make one real quick? re skin any model to to this http://www.hl2.nl/gallery/25.jpg
-
no matter how easy something may seem, a certain amount of effort is needed to make the output successful. whether the effort is subconscious or conscious is what makes it seem easy to someone. to use an analogy, its like saying 2 different computers take 2 different number of processing cycles to compile the same million lines of code. (sorry about the code analogy, you said you're not good with that stuff but its the best one i could think of atm) yes it can be harder to some people who have to first learn how to do it and maybe their first time might take more effort since they will likely make mistakes but even at the very least a certain amount of effort is needed. and btw, there is no way in hell you'll ever find anyone who builds a custom frame for a motorcycle and will tell you it was easy. never.
-
having modded myself (mostly early fps) i know that to make a good mod you have to put in more effort than you claim is needed. if you actually made a mod or not, i dont really care anymore but i have never heard someone who calls any work they are proud of "easy to make". even a skin takes quite a bit of effort unless you are just editing an existing one.
-
When I think of "mod", I think of adding completely different stories ala NWN's modding community where you can literally play a brand new story. KOTOR's mods didn't do that. to me that means you dont consider the kotor mods actual mods. you seem to admit they are modifcations but not worthy of your defintion of a mod. welcome to my ignore list.

for the off chance that you dont understand english very well i'll explain one last time. for the likely chance that you're just an idiot, i'll keep it simple. the term pc mod means modification. the term does not mean pc module. i have never said that a nwn module isnt a modification. infact i said it was close to a tc which is pretty much a really big mod. a module is a modification but a modification is only a module in the case of nwn. this is what i've said the entire time, never any different. if you understood anything different then you misunderstood. i dont need to defend mods done for kotor. if you dont like them then dont use them. it seems i'm one of the few here who has ever used a mod and created one. i most definitely DO know what the hell i'm talking about. i said you dont know what a mod is because you think a modification can only be a module. bioware's use of the short form of module confused you. this is the last time i'm going to explain this to you, do not bother to ask me anything or comment on anything i have said. i dont mind stupid people but arrogant stupid people really annoy me.
