If the exile does not have memory loss...
kbned replied to kbned's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
are you saying that the way he uses a force power now is different than the way he used to use it? if an arm is severed but then re-attached, does the person use different parts of his brain or different muscles now? forget that we can not reattach an arm and the muscles that go with it, pretend that stuff is possible. i really cant believe i even have to explain this... its like you guys just ignore what i say just so you dont have to admit there is a problem witht he story. -
If the exile does not have memory loss...
kbned replied to kbned's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
you're assuming other problems of current medical science in your analogy, none of which would apply to him. he cut himself off from the force, blocked himself from using/feeling it. he did not remove parts of his brain that let him use the force. he did not change himself, just mentally blocked the force. -
if you can copy your save game over to your computer, open it with KSE savegame editor and you can look up your influence. 100 is max influence.

If the exile does not have memory loss...

those people still know how to walk and tie their shoes, they just have trouble controlling their body (see end of this post). that is assuming they still have the parts of the brain they need to be able to do that. the exile is just as capable as before he severed anything. if you want to get really technical about it, it would be like having his arm removed for a long time but then getting it back the way it was before it was removed. no functionality has been removed, he just has to get used to it again. you're assuming other problems of current medical science in your analogy, none of which would apply to him. -
who killed that women soilder on onderon
kbned replied to kevin4's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
it may be them, i just said i dont think it was. i dont think they would help me find evidence on them if they did it. -
who killed that women soilder on onderon
kbned replied to kevin4's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
it was someone either hired by the general or one of the general's people. i dont think it was anyone in that gang since one of them helped me find the droid's head, evidence that the accused was innocent and possibly incriminating them. if you help the general there is someone in the courtyard that explains a little more. she wants all the loyal captains in the area removed from their posts. she mentions how that woman has already been taken care of so there are 3 left. -
If the exile does not have memory loss...

learning to use a robotic arm is completely different from using a real arm. the force and how to use it has not changed, it would be more like not using his arm for 10 years and then using it again. it would be weak but he would still know how to move the fingers, make a fist, etc. -
If the exile does not have memory loss...

but he changed his mind, he now uses the force. to use an analogy, if you stop reading for 10 years (dunno how long he stopped using the force but this should cover it), on the 11th year he changes his mind and starts again do you think he'll be able to read on his own or will he have to get a teacher to show him how to read again? -
why does he need a master? he couldnt have been a padawan when he left the jedi cause revan made him a general. he must have at least been a jedi knight or trained up to that level by revan before becoming a general. i dont see why he has kriea teaching him about the force and how to use it. even if he hasnt used the force in a long time he should still at least know how to use it. kriea seems to teach him some really basic force powers that he shouldnt need help with (reading/affecting minds, hearing the force, controlled breathing). jedi are supposed to build their own light saber but he has to get bao dur to help him build one. the exile doesnt even know what parts go into a light saber.

hades one is just trolling, baiting for a flame. now that he knows he failed to get that first one he's keeping at it trying to get you to flame him or at least give him attention.

Whats the worst dark side act you did?
kbned replied to jennahaze's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
i tried to destroy peragus myself but the sith beat me to it. the dialog with atris about it was pretty cool. she was saying some stuff about how evil and stuff i was and that she wanted to imprison me and my character told her he'd slaughter everyone there if he didnt get his ship back. she just kind of "forgot" about locking me up and wanted me to leave as soon as possible. then she went and locked herself in her private room while i beat up her handmaidens. finally after i got tired of that i took my stolen ship and left. -
whether or not you like the game depends on how you play it. from the sound of your posts, this game is not for you. i'm not sure which version you have but i never got any replies with grammer as bad as what you quoted. i consider gothic 1 probably the best pc game ever made or at least in the top 5.

i think they did that to allow you to be able to turn either way, light or dark even later into the game. playing darkside i noticed how many times some of the other characters are trying to convince the exile not to fall to the darkside and was tempted to back to being lightside. i only stuck with being a sith because i had already finished the game as a lightside character. -

flaming a troll and being a troll are two different things. my first post in this thread was completely on topic and flamed no one. its a controversial topic, thats why this thread turned to flaming so quickly. it was not flame bait, it was an opinion on the dialog and story of the game. you're no exception, you flamed the thread starter because he had the nerve to say he might know what he's talking about. you're as much of a cause to the problems of this thread as anyone else who flamed is. i would not call you a forum troll but you did flame what you mistook for a forum troll. i flamed actual forum trolls and a few thatt were not trolls but were flamming what they thought to be trolls. -

SHUT THE F**K UP, KID! Nobody wants to hear another word from you! I built you a nice little house in the garden. Now go outside and play! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> way to join in the fun, you're one of us now. no more innocent or guilty than us. you're actually prolonging this with the thread you made and this post by inflating his ego. a troll does this kind of thing for attention, only way to make it go back where it came from is ignore it. i dont really mind the guy but if you do then i suggest ignore both of us. -

uhh dude, a "dumbass reply form" means you're a dumbass and you use that form to reply... you're not even giving me a chance to "score points"... btw, i dont know if they have a readme with that form but you should only use the actual replies that you check, not the whole thing. -

screw it, this forum is getting shut down any day now anyway. flaming a troll aint gonna hurt. (all quotes are from this moron that i'm replying to) this is why i asked why you gave me your opinion if it is no better or worse than my own. your statement is obviously false but i was using your own logic against you. you lose. now you either realize your statement is false and pretend you never said it or you're a moron. i prefer to think of you as a moron. but nothing, dont say what you dont mean. you've contradicted yourself and instead pass off the blame to someone else. the only thing you seem to be superior at is being a complete moron. i know moron is a bad choice of words but i'd piss off witchzenka again if i called you what i wanted to call you. -

revan set up a fight in which a lot of people would die, the exile did not. he only followed orders and fought the enemy he was given by the commander of the republic army. the same way you assume i am shifting the blame away from the exile, you are shifting the blame away from the one who was truly at fault, revan. done. changed the quote to name 213374U as the poster. -
it looks like they also meant to have different levels of crafting by the use of feats instead of just the basic list you start and end with. seeing as those feats do nothing i assume they took that out of the game.

TSL Story From a Writers Perspective
kbned replied to Master Dahvernas's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
your character is not responsible for what happened at m5, revan was. he meant it to be a brutal fight where a lot of people especially those who wouldnt follow him if he went sith died. your character didnt destroy that world the way nihlus did that other planet. the exile was only a lesson on how to create wounds in the force. your character already went through the acadamy, he doesnt need lessons like this from kriea. the lesson is not valid because she says it is the exiles fault for giving the bum credits he didnt earn. she was fine giving credits to the guy who gave information in return. the problem with the lesson is that while the mugger might have stolen the exile's credits from the bum, the mugger doesnt care who the credits came from or if they are earned. he'd probably have killed the other bum too if he came out. the actual somewhat worthwhile lesson though is that you weaken that bum by taking care of his problems for him. normally he would gain strength by resolving the problem himself but relying on the exiles strength isnt going to help him in the long run. the reason i say somewhat is because you have no way of knowing if giving those credits helps you get a bonus quest or some kind of item and when role playing a light side character it's only natural to give someone in need some credits or help them earn some. the dialog was somewhat limited here, it was either "yes, here are 5 creds" or "get out of my face or i will kill you". -

its an exaggerated analogy, i used it so i would get through even to the thickest of people since thats what i seemed to be dealing with. if you looked at code as a non programmer you could understand the words since they are all in plain english and somewhat understand what going on but you cant say if it is written well because it is not something you know well. you can use it with any profession and their work if it makes you feel better. then why do you give me your opinion of me? you obviously think higher of your opinion than mine implying them unequal. while its true we strive to be equal, a genius has the same one vote an inbred drunk has, we are most definitely not equal. you sir are a moron, not equal to me or my opinion. its good that you guys got this thread back on topic after it was hijacked by a bunch of forum trolls. i dont mean this post to take it off track though it'd probably go that way again once those trolls get back to working this thread anyway. -
luke does a few weeks of training there, about the same as revan at the acadamy for the second time. luke is supposed to be a legend though bringing balance to the force. he's supposed to be the biggest news in jedi history it seems so its not hard to imagine he would learn fast. his training is also a lot harder, he has to defeat 2 sith lord by himself to become a jedi knight. and not just some nihlus and whathisname sith lords, he's got to go up against the rulers of the empire.

playing the game 4 times just to get the story was superb? i'm glad you were not involved in making this game... i stuck to rp and i got the whole main story the first time through. only reason i went at it again was to be darkside this time.
