Mario Power-Up Prank, Bomb squad called.
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to sega-soldier's topic in Way Off-Topic
You can get an on the spot fine for it here. Think it comes under anti social behaviour or something. They only explode when you headbutt them anyway so as long as no one does that :D It dosnt look like they meant any harm by it so going overboard in punishing them dosnt really help anyone. -
I havnt been this eager to play a game since the last FF was released. I'm always in two minds about importing. On the one hand you get it that much faster. But on the other it dosnt give much incentive to make a specific version either. Wouldnt happen to know if this one has a lower encounter rate than Lucifers Call would you ? http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/produc...tal_devil_saga_

Classic. Gives stark reality a run for it's money almost.

No longer available for purchase from my usual sources. Running away isnt really my style. I'll see what else comes along. That zombie one looks pretty good I think it's out in a couple of months.

Oblivion was kind of interesting. I was right when I said the score would decrease over time. First day I would have scored it 90 without reservations. Second day, because of the samey nature of the caves etc that had dropped to around 80. After my first brush with the plot and the jumping through hoops I had to do to avoid leveling 70. End of the very mediocre plot which was totally hack and slash and had the most unsatisfying endgame I'd played 60%. So I think all those 90's should be up for re-evalutation although based on how much most reviewers play stuff. Easy to see why it scored high. Now playing Tales Of Eternia until friday at least (DQ VIII release day).

It's a shame you are completely wrong then isnt it. At a certain level everyone dosnt suddenly start wearing certain armour. And since I've had dwarvish armour drop from a random maurader at level 6 while most other mauraders are wearing iron with a few bits of steel here and there. The list means nothing. Perhaps if you had the experience you claimed you had you would realise that.

The Exile greater than Revan???

I was waiting for a NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!! EP II & III ruined Vaders image. -
Is Haunting Ground any good ? It's been delisted so I'm wondering whether or not it would be worth the effort to find.

Melee combat raises Strenght most, then Dexterity, then Int Ranged raises Dex. most, then Int/Str. almost equal Magic raises Int most, then Dex., then Str (minor alteration from what type of magic, but that is irrelivant in this case) So why can't oblivion do; Melee fighting +Str and endurance Ranged/Stealth fighting +Agility and speed Merchantery and Speechcraft +Personality Magic +Willpower and +Intelligence Luck will raise on a different way (maybe like GTA:SA does it... collecting those things in Las Venturas) Almost the same way it does right now, but then it will not give +X at leveling, but just gives the levels... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I think getting rid of levels entirely would help then it really would be learn by doing in the true sense (like FFII). ShadowStrider isnt a big fan of levels either. Stats would raise by the associated skills, just at a more moderate pace. Getting hit would raise your health and using mana would raise your mana pool.

How many times have you beaten K1/K2
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Bokishi's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
KOTOR - Once plus a bit of combat practice just before K2 was released. KOTOR 2 - Four. One for each gender/alignment combo. playing KOTOR for 4000 hours ? Thats just mental. -
The Exile greater than Revan???

Because Kreia is your mom :D -
I don't recall how that one worked. The problem is that some skill sets are just too prone to leveling. Take my first character. Hand to Hand - Blades - Heavy Armour - Restoration - Armourer - Marksman - Alteration - If you look at the first five skills and the synergy they have you can see why the character levels up so quickly. Quite easy to go up two or three levels in the same dungeon. It also means that because of the scaling and the luck factor in the game by the time you find what you "need" it's likely to already be obsolete.

Lvl 13 and having Dwarven boots and helmet (both from a box) with the rest all Steel... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My new character just came across a dwarven curiass and greaves at level 6. Other stuff has been mostly iron with a few bits of steel here and there. I'm not taking the item drops at all seriously based on my own evidence. Oddly my first character found quite a few dwarven weapons before ever finding a piece of armour.
-
BG2 had enough placed gear that the item creation was a bonus not a requirement. Thats good games design in my book. If I dont pick up the shiny sword of chopping, thats my problem. But if the shiny sword of chopping only appears due to luck and not having it hikes the difficulty significantly. Thats poor games design. You fully admit that the only way to collect sigil stones easily is to cast invisibility (or chameleon too I expect, which is how I got the final gate in under 10 minutes). But thats advanced magic. So you need advanced magic in order for your fighter to be able to collect stones without leveling... You dont see that as a design flaw ?
-
That you would say that is interesting.... Which again is totally contaradicting the spiel about making any character. So your basically saying that you can play whatever character you like. As long as you play the type of character we designed the game for?

Can't help you there. 04/04/2006 777110 - Dragon Quest The Journey of the Cursed King + Official Strategy Guide Awaiting Processing

I just bought the Dragon Quest VIII guide as part of a package.

It depends how strict you want to make the definition(although buying and drinking potions is fine). For example a fighter for whom sneak attack in an integrel part of his combat strategy isnt really a pure fighter. My character wasnt a pure fighter because everytime someone went into a block stance he threw a fireball at them. Oblivion has some odd definitions. Like classifying Merchantile as a stealth skill for example.
-
Yep , ever see Conan cast a spell ? Someone did a pretty good likeness of Conan over at TES (using the character builder). Potions. While I think the way the game uses them is cheap are a given. Heres something from the intro written by Bethesda. "And just like you can go and do whatever you like, you can also be whatever kind of character you want." In truth, clearly not the case at all.
-
I think you need to look up the definition of pure fighter if you think it includes casting spells (thats a fighter/mage). "
-
This is what has a chance of dropping not what actually drops though right ? Like you definately wont see steel before level 2 (although I got a silver sword at level 2 it was from the Arena). At level 6 I've yet to see anything silver but the odd arrow.
-
The only point of difficulty I had was Kvatch. And at that point there was only one sigil stone (which wasnt a very good one).
-
<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Perhaps then you should have made taking down the gates a bit more interesting. The problem with Sigil stones like most things in Oblivion is ,they are random. Now IWD had random loot. But it also had enough fixed loot to get you through if you were not particulalry lucky with what dropped. Also, the more gates you hit , the more you level.

Me ? Same reason I collect books. It's just something I like to do.

Ok so I was reading the TES forums.. And read a couple of posts about the usual stuff like game difficulty ,character building etc. Then some guy pops up and starts to lecture the poster on having no idea on how to build a character, and how he's got Umber at level 9. Thing is, this is all because he's read the strategy guide So it got me thinking. Do you use strategy guides ? I collect them, and I've got nothing against them. But I wouldnt dream of using one without first completing a game on my own. Then again I've also read about people buying a guide and then playing the game while constantly refering to it. Dosnt strike me as particularly fun but how widespread is that sort of thing I wonder.
