  1. I must be running at half speed today I only just got that one
  2. I dont remember :"> perhaps I blocked it out or something. The first part of the game was nice though. I can remember the end battle just not the title ending.
  3. Already found it and played it thanks. Personally I found it hillarious. Especially when you finish and open up free play and get to abuse Jar Jar Binks in various ways.
  4. No idea, I think there is a breakdown over at gamefaqs for people who are into that sort of thing. I tend to just shift between them depending on whats going on.
  5. He should acknowledge it but will say that you need proof. Which is where finding out what the smuggler wants comes in and setting up the sting. Doing it the other way will just result in events getting way out of your control. You dont have to steal anything. Just have the smugglers list of things for Gren to assemble. While you might think you are placing yourself under cover doing it the other way. Since Gren dosnt know and since things will soon get out of hand it will never work out.
  6. Two reasons that I can think of. 1. The whole choice thing makes it difficult to tie up the end a coherent way and still keep the idea that you had some choice in the matter. 2. Because they have to incorporate all these multipath aspcets throughout the game they simply run out of time and then have to tie things up very quickly. Granted the Japanese do some terrific endings. But in fairness to the western developers, the JRPGS are very much more book like when it comes to storytelling.
  7. That was the line I was working on. As you say it does indeed mirror the movies but whether or not that is a bad thing I am not so sure. It is a very good was of tying up all the lose ends and having both of the previous games be part of something much bigger. As well as killing off Revan and The Exile to avoid all that variable stuff which their identity from the first games brings up. It's also important that KOTORIII not limit itself to people who have played the other games. Especially if it's taking the nextbox route rather than the current one.
  8. It's quite likely I did have a different Hanharr. I've never used autolevel so I dont know what his default level up is like. They were pretty awful in the first game. I maxed his 2wf and flurry and he killed everything on the lower level with one hit. I also maxed his toughness. Dont think he needed a lot beyond that and his wookie abilities. Maybe someone should start a poll. Should KOTOR III let you take a journey up Visas' loading ramp....
  9. Everything that will give you a component before you construct your lightsaber will give you a working model after you do. That includes Visis. The type you get seems to vary with how you answered the initial questions on the ship. When I said it was a double I got a lot of double blades. When I said it was a single I didnt get many double blades. It could be luck of course but it's worth baring in mind.
  10. This would be about 10-15 hours before my current position. Not acceptable. I was constantly waiting for something to happen that would free Master Vrook from the cage. I just realized that i must be a bug when no one was in front of the enclave after freeing Onderon Though i am not the only one with that problem: http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=29853&hl= Hope this issue will be addressed in the upcoming patch. Probably they will put switch somewhere for triggering that event to open the cage manually for those with that prob. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dont you got an autosave feature on the PC version?
  11. GDC I expect.
  12. Nicely put. "Gamers" have always been a fickle bunch anyway. And now that there is a market that is both larger and less demanding it's no suprise that publishers are going to tap it. I do think developers and publishers have different goals in a lot of areas. Goals which are not always compatible.
  13. The between screen hints do go awfully fast, but there is some useful stuff in there.
  14. I know it's been out a while elsewhere but it only came out last week or the week before here and I've kind of gotten behind on the gameplaying thing. 15. I never found much use for the non Jedi in KOTOR. In fact later in the game they became a liability by having a lot their attacks directed right back at them. Droids were even worse because you couldnt just force heal them.
  16. StarWars Tennis and Baseball. Worked for Mario. Star Wars Lego is hillarious and I hope they make some spinoff lego games.
  17. I think it would have seemed more complete that would have been spooky. Obviously better if it was animated, but even some still pictures with voice overs would have worked.
  18. If that happens open up a new window and link directly to the forums and you will most likely see your new post there. Some people get really aggrevated by it for some reason, but few people do it intentionally.
  19. Not really, if they had wanted to add more they could have just split the game over two disks. It's not at all uncommon on consoles, or even 3 or 4 for that matter. It's what Sqenix did at the point where the PS1 could no longer contain their story on one disk. FF VII came on 3 disks and FF IX which was the last one on the PS1 came on 4. There isnt a great deal of competition. The majority of RPGS are GC/PS2 right now. Though MS have signed up an ex FF designer to create two new RPGs on the next box/Xenon. Console RPGs have done it for a couple of years prior to KOTOR, but KOTOR I think was the first time it had been attempted with the same sort of choices offered in more traditional RPGs , like being able to create a character (although in KOTORs and to a lesser extent KOTOR II's case it's a bit of a doge).
  20. It's an approach most console RPGs I play take. Spoken for the dramatic and storytelling and written for the more "mundane" party interaction. There are several negatives with voicing. 1. Cost. VOT is a lot more expensive than sitting down and writting lines. 2. Space. BTW how many CDs does KOTOR II come on , on the PC? 3. Ever notice how even your closest friends call you "The Exile". Obviously because the game dosnt know your name in advance to record the lines (not like that would ever happen except in a choose from a list sense) no one can ever refer to you by name is speech. 4. You may have also noticed that games since VO have tended to be shorter than those prior to heavy voicing. I'll leave that one to the individual to reason out Best example let me refer you to two games. Shadow Hearts - even though the character is pre generated you can name him. You can also name the companions you come across on your travels too. No suprise then that the game with the exception of a few high quality cutscenes is not voiced. Shadow Hearts II - first thing you notice, is there is an extra disk in there. You can no longer name your character, the character is called Yuri, and everyone refers to him by that name, or his "title" of Godslayer. If you could pick his name you would be forever refered to as Godslayer (which is rather cool , but anyway..). Likewise you cant name your companions anymore, they all come with names because the names are used in the pre recorded dialogue. It's progression. Anyone who has followed the FF series will have noticed the same thing. Ever notice how through the entire voicing of FFX you were never called Tidus ? (because again you could change the protagonist name) Yet everyone else, Yuna, Rikku, Auron etc had set names which were used all the time. I think personally having had full VOT for two games, KOTOR would find it difficult to go back. It does raise some interesting implications for NwN II though as VO becomes more common.
  21. Turn her down and you get a wis bonus or something along those lines.
  22. Hanhar is great. He's insanely powerful, cleared the sub level in a couple of minutes and never needed healing. He's also one of those suprise characters who has a lot of things to say if you get to know him.
