I voted for all of them when I voted. XP gives a sense of progression, and I'd be perfectly happy if all of the included options granted xp in PoE. I'm particularly happy with how WL2 grants skill based xp only to the character that performs the skill. Go through life. Do things. Become more experienced. It's totally logical and, as previously stated, it feels good to get it. MOAR XP options please.

I think my 10 CHA guy was level 47. The rest were between 42 - 46 IIRC. I played with a rather completionist approach, though I know I missed a few exp. opportunities. Those probably wouldn't have made much of a difference though.

I said that? I've never even heard of this game. I'm pretty sure I've been playing the Sims 4. ______________________________________ EDIT I posted this elsewhere, but thought I'd drop it here. My impressions after completing WL2 the Sims 4. I just finished the game a couple night's ago night. Overall, I loved it. I would rate an 8.5+. With a bit more polish and bug fixing, particularly in the CA areas, I could see this rating a 9.5 or maybe even a 10. This game truly hit all the right points with me. It might well become my new favorite cRPG, period, and is currently ranking higher than PoE with me. Ironically, I've never played a post-apocalyptic game prior to Wasteland 2, and now I am not only a fan of the game, but of the genre. The stuff that a lot of people complain about such as a large number of skills, a lot of time spent opening locks, cracking safes, etc.... I happen to be very happy with the implementation of. Vs. Pillar's of Eternity's approach of bunching all roguish skill checks into a single skill, which just isn't very interesting to me. I love the planning that is required to build a party that has all of the necessary skills to get through the game, without having to forego any looting options or miss any areas because I couldn't find a way to get in. Build a well balanced party and do well. Build a crap party, and get your ass handed to you. For me it makes success that much sweeter. And again, compared to PoE's "all builds are good" approach, to me is clearly superior. The story isn't out of this world amazing, but for a whacky sci-fi game, you don't really expect that. It's totally serviceable, and kept interested enough to want to find out what would come next. There are so many Easter eggs and moments of humor, that the game is worth playing just for that alone. As much as I loved the AZ portion of the game, CA was even better. The biggest disappointment was the bugginess of the Hollywood/Loz Feliz section of the game. Hollywood conceptually is the coolest part of the entire game, but it definitely still isn't ready for public release. That said, most of the quests that can get broken aren't critical to the plot, and you can move on without completing them. I actually only had a couple of broken quests, but that's because I went back to an early save and consulted a guide someone had put together. A patch is expected soon (today?), so hopefully Hollywood will get some serious love. I played on Ranger (Hard) difficulty. I'm already considering my next party, which I will play on Supreme Jerk (Extra Hard) difficulty.

I completed the game last night. I enjoyed it immensely. Now I'm gearing up for a run through on Supreme Jerk (up from Ranger difficulty).

Wishing I hadn't seen CoM_Solaufein's post. I'm pretty much wrapping up with the Hollywood/Loz Feliz section of the game. Hollywood is by far the coolest part of the game yet, in terms of how inXile chose to imagine what a post apocalyptic version of that city might look like. It's also by far the buggiest part of the game yet. I managed to get up to this point without a single notable bug, but this area clearly needs more work from inXile. My understanding is that it was even more buggy prior to the 09/26 patch. Hopefully next week's expected patch will have a lot of love for this part of the game, as it's a true shame to have such bugginess present in such a great game, and worse in one of the game's most memorable areas. I went ahead and started referencing this guide to help me out with the general order of things. I share here in case it helps others: https://forums.inxile-entertainment.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=9638 I'm already starting to plan my next party, which will be geared for Supreme Jerk difficulty.

Glad to hear you made it to CA Keyrock. As much as I loved the AZ portion of the game, LA is even better. Awesome, awesome game.

Agreed that this is a very good thing. The recent Matt Chat where Feargus Urquhart was pretty much insisting that the game would be released in 2014 had me worried. I took a lot of hell on these boards for making the above statement, but generally when my Spidey Sense starts tingling on something, I pay attention. Ole Spidey comes through again.

How is the update overall? I spent only around 30 minutes looking at it. I can't seem to tear myself away from WL2.

I do like how there's often multiple skills that can be used to solve a particular problem, or if that doesn't work you can often just shoot or blow stuff up. ION, I finally made it to CA the other night. Even though I haven't done very much there yet I'm digging how this part of the game has a totally different vibe than AZ did. Los Angeles has always been an interesting area, and that apparently is no different for post apocalyptic L.A. The folks you meet around here make everyone in AZ seem boring and reserved. The crazy really took hold in L.A., t'would seem. It was a trip going to "Cerritos", a fairly non-descript, "working man's" suburb of LA that I drive through every day going to and from work. I think this part of the game is going to be hitting a lot closer to home, literally. And the difficultly level definitely ratchets up a few notches in CA. I hope you all invested in getting your CI up, as I suggested several pages ago!

That's why you invited me?

By the way guys, you're likely just wishing happy birthday to the wind in this thread: Chris Avellone Member Since 06 Feb 2004 Offline Last Active May 27 2014 02:27 PM Just FYI.

All... most... to L.A! So close, but there's always seems to be one more thing that I want to wrap up. I think it's mainly just about figuring out what I want to do with the whole DBM/ToT situation, and wrapping that up. I believe all of the incidentals are done, finally. I can't wait to see the new content. I don't remember the last time I was quite so "giddy" about a game. Heck, don't remember the last time I used the word giddy period!

I've got roughly 250 hours clocked in, and I'm still having a blast with combat. I play on Ranger and Supreme Jerk difficulty. Since the beta, the game has gotten a much needed bump to difficulty, and is even more enjoyable as a result. It may not quite have the options that a game like FOT has, but it's not trying to be that game. It's primarily a RPG, focused on the story (with more written words in it than the entire Lord of the Rings Trilogy). And it happens to have some pretty solid (IMO) tactical combat to boot. A game like FOT focused on tactical combat over pretty much everything else, so one would hope that it's really good at the one thing that.. it's supposed to be really good at. I think WL2 managed to be really good at a lot of things, and on a ~$5m dollar budget is pretty impressive.

You remembered his birthday? Wow! I can barely remember my own. Happy b-day MCA.

That's a smart gamer right there. A man who knows the virtues of saving his game!
-
Yeah, it doesn't sound like you'll be able to get the peaceful solution without an earlier save game.

I'm staying the course. Wasteland 2 it shall continue to be. Especially since they also released a patch today, a mere 7 calendar days after the initial release.

Hey Gromnir, thanks. Hey Gromnir, thanks. Hey Gromnir, thanks. ... Wait, what just happened? Where in the hell am I? Who am I? Oh crap, some just went really wrong in forum land.

I'm aware that leadership isn't giving the advertised amount of accuracy bonus. I've been using the other skills without a problem. What's the issue with animal whisperer?

I don't think so, they changed their mind due to feedback from the forums, not just us. Okay, well, you guys still led the way. I think there's at least a minor victory in here. But I appreciate your right not to see it that way.
