wouldn't SHIVs be a good idea for when you have max level troops, then? both for using them to replace them when they're injured, or in case you don't need to worry about xp gain anymore because all your current guys are max level (which i'm guessing would be pretty rare given the attrition rate, barring losing all the others)

The Fitness Thread!
So, what do you guys do for fitness, if anything? I lift weights and train martial arts, mostly, although I've been known to sprint randomly when bored of walking, and I trained parkour for a bit. So, yeah, fitness thread. Share methods, articles, etc, discuss their merits, ask questions, post motivational stuff, the works. Also, any of you guys active on fitocracy?

might i ask about what you're writing? One is a story about a Halfing Paladin, followed by a critical re-examination of the previous story suggesting that it is actually a popular myth combining several stories and exaggerations. Another is a story about an otherwise insignificant military officer with a backstabbing addiction. Or maybe he just hates both the people he was hired to spy on and the people he was hired to spy for. Today I'm thinking I'll write about fantasy thieves. I'm thinking a thief with a conscience. In which he steals from a little old lady, feels really bad about it, returns it, and begs to be jailed. interesting. also, what hurlshot said.- More Cheese Please
I can always do with more cheese, always. no such thing as too much cheese.- More Cheese Please

I remember reading those in graphic novel form back in the 80'es (translated from the original French). Never know they made a video game for them. it's a simple but pretty neat strategy game. they tried to make an MMORPG called winds of war as well, but i dunno what came out of that one.- Vidgy Game Soundtracks

currently on X-COM, and planning to make a new playthrough in PS:T sometime soon.- Help me pick a cRPG to play.
yup, torment FTW also i second that if you get NWN, go for the expansions. the second one in particular (hordes of the underdark) i'd put almost at PS:T's level. vampire bloodlines is pretty sweet as well.- Xcom
nvm, i'm dumb. technically, the alloy cannon is a mag accelerator, iirc. albeit in the form of a shotgun.- Xcom
re: kinetic weapons: magnetic accelerators (coil/gauss guns and rail guns) would be cool, and since plasma tech is already based on magnetic containment of superheated matter, might be a logical step to take. also, while the "gauss" weaponry from TFTD wasn't actually "gauss" weaponry (ie coilguns), the name is there to use, particularly seeing as some people over at the 2k forums were theorizing that the DLC stuff is TFTD-based. re: free-aiming: it might be doable via mods IF it's possible to switch the rocket aiming mechanism over to the rifles, pistols and shotties while reducing the blast radius so that there's no AOE (maybe with a minimal, low-damage AOE for heavy plasma due to the heat, coupled with a similar boost for the heavy laser to compensate? might prove interesting).- Xcom
gas stations are no fun anymore now that guns aren't free-aimed- Xcom
i like heavies once they get that perk that lets them shoot twice if they haven't moved (or shoot and reload, or shoot and fire a rocket, etc). supports i use as medics, and general backup when needed (usually sandwiched between my assaults and my heavy and sniper so they can hopefully help either). - What are you playing now
