Why does this seem worrying? In a country of mostly white people, 100 of them are protesting? Nah, it's all part of the news process of keeping fear alive.

it doesnt take much nudging to get me to start up a game of fonv. started up one i left off because i was in HH (did it as my way of getting money into the strip) and finished it up, was near the end, and just got the chip and gonna try out the ncr route but first start gathering up my companions, then figure i jump into dead money roleplay wise because i cant decide to do house/myself/ncr and i instead hear about this casino and decide to say screw it to the factions and this is gonna be my escape and see how well the story works in that regards.

So is Clinton being connected to not only the uranium deal with Russia but now the DNC bought a dossier on Trump that the FBI used as reason to investigate Russia connections to him? Is this a bunch of hogwash from Fox news? Otherwise I find it funny as hell as karma coming back lmao.

Terranigma was the epitome of (action) JRPGs on the SNES. It certainly is better than Secret of Mana in pretty much every aspect, but it never got an official North American release... in terms of atmosphere and storytelling I'd rate Illusion of Gaia/Time also a bit higher than Secret of Mana, but that might be just me. Well it should also be mentioned that the various translations and releases vary a bit and the adaptational botching is apparently pretty strong in SoM. It has a special place in my gaming history as a sequel to Final Fantasy Adventure (aka Mystic Quest) which is pretty much one of my favorite games ever. THANK YOU sooooo much! i have been trying to remember the name Illusion of Gaia for sooo mnay years! ty ty ty ty. that was one of those flawed classics but had great tone and atmosphere. Had to leave work early today to get my son sick from school who seems to be doing well. my friend told me shadowrun chronicles was on clearance and got me and my homie a couple for 14 bucks so downloading and gonna try and see how well it goes and hopefully that his pc will run it. we both love shadowrun and hes really into co op games so hopefully me and him get to kick ass as a decker/rigger combo.

This is a slow year having Trump as a president. I was gonna ask if our debt has gone down, taxes lowered or axed, etc etc but it hasn't even been a year yet lmao.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - DA REAL DEAL
redneckdevil replied to Rosbjerg's topic in Computer and Console
Was going to say there's always the Codex, then saw this.. I'm not gonna lie, Codex in a Kotaku format sounds interesting. It'd be like one of those tabloids that has big foot on the cover with the story of how he ate my groceries, like that but about video games. -
Does it look like we will be fighting north Korea soon?

The problem is that all these views are outdated as hell. They're finding most traumas and mental disorders have physical effects and marks in the brain, for one. The assumption that someone with mental problems is capable of making that choice and being in control is completely faulty. Many of them WANT to but can't. Here's why this subject makes me pissy: My wife is diagnosed by mental health professionals as having PTSD and she's currently discouraged from watching things that could trigger her because she gets PTSD flashbacks where she mentally regresses to the exact moment she was abused as a child and the rest of her brain literally shuts down. She simply CANNOT make any reasonable choices at this time. One time she nearly jumped out a four-story window because of a flight response to what was essentially a repeating lifelike hallucination after some all-ages cop show had a sudden rape scene and no disclaimer. We're working with therapies such as EMDR to solve this, but it's not her CHOICE. What's worse, every time this happens it's essentially several steps back in her MEDICALLY PRESCRIBED TREATMENT and half the time, there's no way to avoid it. Trigger warnings would be extremely helpful in her recovery to get her to that point. But no, because some empathy-deprived **** on the internet are mad at a bunch of overdramatic misandrist **** on the internet, something that is as simple as a short freaking "may contain traces of rape" message becomes this huge deal to everyone because ****ing internet. Because mental trauma is a good enough reason to not go to jail if you killed someone, but it's not enough of a reason to put everyone through a bit of text they can safely ignore and doesn't even ****ing affect them in the slightest. To that I say, **** those people. And if they can't deal with that bit of text without getting triggered, maybe they shouldn't be the one throwing stones. i dont believe it is outdated at all. i even stated "EXCEPT severe cases". i even put down that it effects socially and PHYSICALLY. My heart goes out to ur wife, but what i wrote doesnt apply to her at all. I'm talking about the practice of treating someone who is JUST uncomfortable and then treating them AS IF they are in the same condition that your wife is in. Teaching its okay to just flip out and throw a tantrum in public WITHOUT any restraint instead of the lessons taughted by experiencing and confronting these problems/differences/morally different WHILE holding oneself to a certain standard because unless its something terrible, just completely by passing it is what i am talking about. I am not "triggered" by trigger warnings, they a much lower bar version of movie warnings/restrictions. I see one, i will do like i do the others. skip it. no skin off my back, they whatever. the same people who have "do not wash baby in washing machine" labels. Its the people you see that are using these "triggers" when its not for them and us being okay and allowing that. Its like handicap places, yes we realize and accept that some people have it harder than others THATS why we give them the best spot to make it easier on them. Then the people who are like "mmmm thats a areally good spot, i wanna be "handicap" to and get a sticker." We used to get riled up seeing someone who wasn't handicapped park into handicap but got a sticker for the spot. just like the fat and lazy people who ride around in the fat mobiles at stores that are for the people who are really old or crippled should be riding. Its just producing more and more fat lazy people when we can stop and make people walk when they can walk. its healthy and usually the only type of excercize most people get. Allowing them who dont need it, just weakens them and effects us because we have to deal with the consequences of allowing them to.

I think there's a subtle difference between a warning for those that will cause physical harm to someone and a warning for those that MAY feel uncomfortable. Physical harm there is more sympathy because of physical evidence of the harm. The trigger warnings have less sympathy because even though mental trauma is a real thing, mental trauma was always taught to me and many others that except severe cases, it's more of a barrier to overcome. It's something that people may accept, but to constantly strive to overcome because they do have consequences socially and physically. The main opposition I believe is that it's not of making people uncomfortable, it's the mentality to not strive to overcome and the consequences shouldn't be on the person but instead the consequences lay on everyone else in that they are forced to deal with you in the context of acceptance in that it will never change.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the (Obsidian) Forum
redneckdevil replied to Amentep's topic in Way Off-Topic
From my many years working retail, I find myself greeting and asking how total strangers are doing out in public. Ive accepted the fact it's a reflex now that I have no intention of correcting simply because the reactions I get from people make it worthwhile and interesting. From flat out ignored, to surprise defensive, annoyance, and happy to be noticed. Tbh I think alot of our culture and racial misunderstandings come from wrong impressions/ideas that aren't debunked because we don't actually communicate with other people in real life. -
i don't think it of itself is bad, i personally have a problem with it because it's part of a practice that sets a bar that people will strive to lower themselves or stop at and become that level and not learn that somethings shouldn't even have a bar or be a hundle that sets you back and you should just learn to accept and overcome. i understand it can be a slippory slope, but its one that u look at each individually and have to figure out what practice as a whole makes us as a whole stronger or weaker?

Games so good it costs human misery to make them.

I feel no sympathy from it, simply because it's everywhere that pays in salary. Hell just ask an asst manager at Walmart for instance, their salary pays them enough for 48 hours but many are working 50+ hours, alot of times working 6-7 days week without a day off in a couple weeks, especially around Christmas time. It's more of a problem with salary, because pay per hour grants OT and enforces certain rules while u give up protections and OT for salary because of the slim chance of working less hours but still being paid for more hours. It's more along the lines of problem with salary. It's also where there's a product and a time table due to the market and bad decisions from stock holders that if not done within a certain time limit, the product is less worth while and can be worthless. Example when I worked as a wood crafter, I got paid only what I made and sold. Some jobs I had to work double and even worked 36 hours in a row because the product had to be made within a certain time or they did not wanna buy. Now I could have afterwards, took days off to where my hours would go back down below 40, BUT because I was being paid per product and not per hour, if I didn't take on more jobs, I did not get paid and since work is not guaranteed, it was a gamble that could backfire because when I was rdy, there could be no customers for weeks bc they went somewhere else. So blame the practice of salaries and also equally, the customers for their impatient and unrealistic expectations of when a product should be rdy. So yes, working in that area, ur gonna be wrong out and chewed up. Everyone, no matter what race though if ur in America would have more protections due to ur skin color, will be chewed up and spat out because that's the work flow of making a video game. The 40 hour work week is designed around established factory line work, not making video games so different work flow.- 79 replies

It's very weird seeing the side who fought christians, Republicans and "upset parents" book burning and censorship and pushed the envelope of raunchyness and uncomfortable truths become the thing they fought against years ago. It's ass backwards now and has been for some time and still i can't believe it at times. U stare into the abyss long enough...

I agree, release proof or both politicians shut up. The mother can say whatever she damn well wants to say she's lost a loved one in the military and she's an American citizen, but now it's gotten to start bringing proof and don't open ur damn mouth to the politicians with this political fighting.

Damn man, my heart's out to ya. Pot has helped me out dealing with my problems in a way that the long boring hours of being at home alone separated from my kids and family can really dig into you, boredom is a horrible state of being when ur old. Look up my user name on steam (same name and pic) and if ya have any of the games I have or some freebie ones, I'll jump in and play with ya if ya ever need.

He is incapable of admitting he's wrong. Also in same light, anything he says will be dissected and/or twisted in a bad light. I'm tired of this Petty childish dickish moves both parties have been pulling for years now. Sadly u can't take anything that's said from either side at face value anymore. We need a miracle and get a "Roosevelt" in office and not say a damn thing and just use a big ass stick to start whupping these politicians asses til they learn (because alot of them have been in office not even knowing how or never seen it happen) they supposed to work TOGETHER for the betterment of us, the people.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - DA REAL DEAL
redneckdevil replied to Rosbjerg's topic in Computer and Console
Liked the first one somewhat, didn't think it did well enough to get a second game made though. Still I'm down for more Warhammer -
You might be able to copy to an external. There also used to be some trick with routers to download. But yeah, that sucks to lose it. Still can't believe Konami had it removed. My bad, yeah I have it on an external hard drive. Only problem I can think of is that it's connected to my account. Also more saints row 2 today. Spent most of the day exploring and walking around and doing gang wars and stealing and collecting cars for my garage. Bought the loft by the college and fixed it up to look nice as hell there are so many huge areas like an underground cavern exhibit for the public. Tagged a few places down there and then rid the place of the homeless. This is a really good game and I don't even like GTA games (cept vice city). It has actually aged quite nicely too except for Gatt's face lmao. Glad to see humor is still in but like y'all said, darker. Just did a mission for shaundi with a guy tripping and dropping an armed bomb at my feet and the woman I saved....was not expecting that at all LMFAO.

Is it because they can't just release it due to privacy issues unless courts are involved? This is the President, all his phone calls are monitored. As much as I dislike Trump, this smells of BS of what he's being accused of saying.

I have only hallucinated twice from smoking pot. First time was my 21st bday when my friends shoved a quarter into a single blunt and made me smoke it to the face. When I was done I had them turn down the music because the music's colors were hurting my eyes. Second was when I was young and someone got some crossbreed plants from the hospital that they were experimenting with called "Cali mist". That one I'm sure was laced with something else in it bc on my way home from just smoking a blunt I saw the tree form into a giant maggot and the yellow lines on the road was changing from dogs in the distance to Gerber babies up close. Pot is just like everything else, in moderation it is fine and not dangerous unless u have breathing problems or one of the unfortunates that makes their anxiety problems worse. In excess like everything else, can be bad.

The congresswoman, you mean. And she is believing the family so if there's any lying it doesn't fall at her feet. Though what should happen even if it did? Guess she can be sued and face other non legal fallout. Thanks for correcting me.Only thing is is that the representative is saying she overheard the call herself over speaker phone. Also as to why the mother would lie (if she is as I would like to give the mother the benefit of the doubt and cast this at the representative feet instead) is that someone important just died, so of course emotions are running high and construing/etc what was said for retaliation/prevention of what happened because ur govt (Democrats) asks u to and says they have ur back. Both parties have done similar things in the past with grieving partners/parents. Plus it is his fault so why not jab at him if it helps get him outta office? It was a phone call so all they have to do is look at the phone records for what was said. But the representative can be sued and lose her position if found she fabricated it?
