  1. I don't remember right now, though the stores seemed to have a lot of them in stock. They have dull, brown boxes. I know, I know!
  2. Mus?, Jagged Alliance 2 is available in Finland as a part of the Medallion series of bargain bin games. I've seen it in Prismas and Anttilas.
  3. I think this looks great:
  4. RPG Vault's Jonric interviewed Vaul- I mean Vince D. Weller: http://rpgvault.ign.com/articles/714/714762p1.html http://rpgvault.ign.com/articles/716/716455p1.html
  5. Yes, he's Guido Henkel, a producer. http://www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/v...eloperId,13497/
  6. Mitsoda!! IIRC, he wrote most of the NPC conversations in Bloodlines.
  7. We already know everything there is to know about Sawyer. And if we don't, we can always easily ask him here. Darren is a producer, not a designer, so that makes him kind of boring. " I'm most interested in the new blood we know nothing about. Designers who have worked on KotOR2 and/or NWN2.
  8. Of course. But the same could be said about anything. Graphics can add much... or nothing! I just assume that MCA & others could write well.
  9. I'm not saying that every RPG should be like PS:T (although a few more wouldn't hurt!) but I find Avellone's talk about the need to make dialogues shorter and prettier worrying. Combine that with Feargus' love for particle effects and who knows what kind of monstrosity might be born? And I'm not asking for overly verbose descriptions before and after every sentence an NPC utters. A few lines here and there can add much to a dialogue.
  10. MCA has talked about dialogues getting in the way of hot fireball action before, so I don't think his answer was just about bringing new technology to conversations. I doubt there was anyone who didn't like the facial expressions in Bloodlines. However, in my opinion text descriptions are better because they're much more flexible and can be used in many other circumstances too (when entering a new area, for example, like in this screenshot: http://www.basiliskgames.com/Screen5.htm) Prelude to Darkness managed to make the descriptions both easy to read and elegant. They fit perfectly in the text boxes and worked really well. http://www.zero-sum.com/walkthrough/pics/screen148.jpg
  11. Dungeons & Dragons: The Temple of Elemental Evil - A Classic Greyhawk Adventure sold quite well. It was a cheap game to make and was, IIRC, Atari's third or second best-selling PC game in 2003 (ahead of Hordes of the Underdark). I'm disappointed in some of Avellone's answers. Particularly how he thinks long dialogues are not fun and that your character should be able to do something else at the same time. Seriously, WTF?
  12. No, that's just you drawing your own conclusion. They didn't even say anything like "Atari totally forced us to implement these bugs" or "If it wasn't for those bad QA testers, the game would've been great". They stated many times that they take all the blame for bugs and other issues. (Not voice acting, however. Atari gave them bad actors )
  13. They said that Atari chose not to release a later version of the game and that Atari only wanted to finance one patch.
  14. Here we go again. No, they didn't.
  15. It's here: http://www.nma-fallout.com/article.php?id=9008
  16. Cool. Thanks, Sammael. Do you happen to have any design docs similar to the the Van Buren ones the NMA guys got?
  17. Back to the topic: is there anyone who disagrees with the absolute fact that this is going to be the bet RPG ever?
  18. Almost. Well, yes, that's most important.
  19. If that's your attitude, don't mention it in every ****ing message you post.
  20. Buying something online isn't nearly as risky as you seem to think.
  21. A new video showing dialogue, choices and consequences: http://www.bluealien.org/node/156
  22. Veronica Mars is your answer. It's a detective show about a girl who tries to uncover such mysteries as who drugged and raped her, murdered her best friend or blew up a bus full of her class mates. The first two seasons have big, complex, season-long mysteries as well as smaller ones. Practically nobody watches the show but it's just so great that a third season has been greenlighted. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veronica_Mars
  23. They didn't want to spend any resources on it so Troika had to test the patches with fans. They also didn't answer Troika's e-mails concerning a patch for weeks. In other words, they didn't want to have anything do to with the game.
