  1. I guess you don't want your wedding to be a blast. More to the point, the US government likes to spy on activists (particularly environmental) and does have a record of imprisoning such people. I've known someone to have gotten a visit from the feds for Twitter posts. So phones are very much a cop and you should not trust them.
  2. But what if the Chinese install killallnerds.exe and replace Sailor Moon with The Leader?
  3. I heard that too as well as
  4. Not as interested in mechanical differences, but how do the Azata and Trickster compare in terms of story or theme?
  5. Man, yall have it bad. My stomach is weird, any problems I have usually manifest out the other end. Which is a different kind of unpleasant, but more manageable. I do have a massive sweet tooth though and have to resist it hard. I try to eat protein stuff flavored like chocolate, but it's just not the same. I have no idea what pink lasagna is, but bolognese lasagna is the only one I'd be willing make. Anyways Steins;Gate....I haven't watched more yet because I'm trying to finish up TOS. But the 1.5 episodes I've seen have been very weird and there's a Cafe where they dress like cats. Lmao
  6. I'll have to see how it works in WotR, but Studied Target and Sneak Attack should work with bombs as they are attack rolls. So if you're just looking to passively boost your bomb throwing, Slayer is the way to go for more bab and saves. It fits with your attributes to boot. Bard could be a good fit, but you're looking at some MAD issues. One of the 9th level Int casters would work better, though I imagine 1st level spells late game with low caster level would be lame.
  7. Ah ok. I think it's funny on how 3.5 -> Pathfinder the Sorcerer got buffed across the board.
  8. The forum software is hungry today. I disagree, and I'll just point to the 5e Sorcerer. That class is awful, it comes up short next to every other caster class in the edition. It needs to be buffed across the board just to come up to par. And that's why I think balance is important, if there's an option for the same role that is clearly inferior in most situations or by most metrics, then something is really wrong. Not every single option has to be equal, but situations where there is no real reason to pick one choice are not very good. I like Pathfinder 2e's approach, you get XP for encounters and obstacles, but it's relative to challenge rating. So you won't get anything if you bully some goblins or pick a level 1 lock as a level 10 party, but you will get rewarded with XP for beating stuff around your level. And really less trash mobs and mostly hand placed encounters would be very nice.
  9. It's hard to say. Given that he got burned out working on Deadfire, I hope he gets to work on something he's passionate about next. The art and music were definitely high points of both games. It's a shame because in a lot of ways it was close to being an extremely good game but they really fell short in some key places. I dunno, the Barbarian whirlwind attack, the ice fireball that paralyzes people, and the Cipher abilities all stand out for me. The Rogue and Fighter are really forgettable and the Chanter takes too long to ramp up though. So you're saying DOS was born from the egg of the king?
  10. Yes and no. I play 2 with enough mods to make the initial loading take like 5 minutes before I started using the script extender.
  11. I can believe that. Given how few options can merge spellbooks, that seems a real bad reference point to balance around. I don't think that's a big deal. He was able to make Icewind Dale 1 and 2 after all. Really I think it suffered from bad implementation of some good ideas, some bad ideas, and stretch goal stuff. Like the whole build up of Defiance Bay and the big factions there just disappears after the big trial. And then we visit a half-baked city with some factions we barely get to know before getting thrown through the endgame meat grinder. Really disappointing and I stopped giving a **** around then. PoE classes are wildly unbalanced lmao. Like Rogues get shown up by everyone, Barbarians and Monks are martial gods, and the slot casters predictably start ****ing up everyone after the mid point. There is a pretty big difference between the base game and TWM. But I guess that just like NWN (another game Josh worked on) the expansions end up making the base game look lame. And DOS games are great. Fite me irl.
  12. A lot of things, but that's beside the point. To make smug Mari really work I've got to make it unpredictable. Besides Berserk is really good.
  13. Keep it away from kids under 12 just in case. Except for
  14. My first playthrough of PoE ended with me hating the game after spending hours grazing through attrition. It did improve significantly with the releases of the WM 1 and 2, but at launch it was really bad. Deadfire was worse, because they threw out an armor system that was ok (though still prone to naked or full plate with no in-between) and implemented one where there was often no benefit to wearing full plate over padded armor. On top of that they did some wacky inversion mechanics (because making -35% mean -35% is for rubes) that their own designers didn't understand. Oh yeah, and detecting traps is now tied solely to perception, so if you don't haul the gun lady along with you there's a very good chance you'll stumble into a tpk trap cluster. The Pathfinder games use a dumbass system with equally dumb things like natural attacks being completely different than unarmed attacks or bonuses not stacking except if they're dodge bonuses. To top it off Owlcat can completely butcher it where if you were to import a PnP CR 30 enemy, like ****ing Cthullu, it could get stomped by a mid game encounter in WotR because apparently they balanced it around insane min-maxers dipping to ramp up their bonuses into the stratosphere. Point is, all these games have ****ty mechanics and I don't think those are the reason they're good or bad. There's a charm to Kingmaker that PoE just didn't have for me. I can't really quantify it but there's a reason I have so many more hours into a game I've only beaten once compared to one I've gone through three times.
  15. Sounds like you can probably drop the demi then. Too bad there's already a god of drinking and having a great time.
  16. Massive number bloat.
  17. Yes.
  18. I bet. And you're not even playing on the difficulty where they crank up stats. I think all of the mythic paths are potentially OP, but it is more from a RP perspective.
  19. Oh, I'm definitely looking forward to playing it....after they fix the game to actually work. Personally I'm torn between Azata or Trickster. Probably one of the biggest mistakes is not having Legend be a starting path. Being able to reject becoming a mythic creature at the beginning would be nice.
  20. Damming with faint praise I see. 55 DC is insane. For laughs I looked up CR 30 creatures from PnP (who typically have mythic stuff already) and a lot of them couldn't even make those saves. You'd have to munchkin to a crazy degree or outright cheat to be able to reliably survive that.
  21. Man I'm glad I'm waiting at least six months before giving this a go.
  22. you naughty but ma- [insert barrage of sanity destroying nonsense] I'm going to give it at least five episodes. It is very weird so far.
