  1. Mejier's come to Jesus moment is better than his peers apologetics for the failed coup, but based on the article it seems like he was willing to swallow any of his discomfort with Trump before the election fallout. Look, it's nice that Mejier didn't jump off that bridge and is showing alarm at the state of his political party, but it does feel more than a little late. Better late than never, but the attempted Muslim ban on 1/27/2017 should have been it for anyone with even a pretense of giving a **** about freedom or opposed to government overreach and yet too many folks were and are willing to swallow or downplay that for political expediency. I can't help but be suspicious of folks who stayed on the train after that stop.
  2. Stardust Crusaders 40-44 (Terence D) D'Arby the Player and Vanilla Ice's Cream. I guess Kenny G and Nukesaku too. D'Arby makes the mistake of being too confident and gets Ora'd as a result. I didn't think about it much before, but having a stand probably gives you a big edge at playing video games. Vanilla Ice was something else, and his episodes hit much differently than D'Arby. Abayo, Iggy.
  3. I think it's funny that one of the options is "that's unnatural" when at that point your character can do the impossible at a whim and traveling with a cat-spider girl who reptilian goat boy. All things considered, changing your sexual characteristics with a magic item is more natural than turning into a glowing beacon of buffs to hit 80+ AC and immunity to everything or becoming a Lich. Anyways I'm trying to decide between gods for my Lich and Demon runs. Urgathoa is the obvious choice for Lich, but I think Zon-Kuthon is an interesting pick. For Demon Lamashtu or Rovagug seem like the obvious choices, but I think Gorum would be fitting. Does anyone have experience with interactions with those gods in WotR?
  4. Stardust Crusaders 38-39 Pet Shop Shut up! Don't ask me! I'm a dog! Well that was something else.
  5. Disco Elysium. I met a guy so rich light bends around him and got a novelty check.
  6. https://www.post-gazette.com/news/crime-courts/2021/12/06/Pittsburgh-man-gets-probation-for-planting-bombs-Downtown/stories/202112060118 Lmao what a joke.
  7. Since this thread is now manga as well, I'm going to start re-reading 20th Century Boys. Here's hoping I don't go (even more) insane. Oingo Boingo Brothers are easily in the top tier of hilarious minor antagonists. Especially considering
  8. Stardust Crusaders 34-37 BarbieD'Arby the Gambler and Hol Horse + Boingo's adventure.
  9. Stardust Crusaders 32 - 33 Alessi's Set Alessi is probably the biggest creep in Stardust Crusaders, maybe in all of JoJo, both of which are saying a lot.
  10. Still Austin Cask Strength Bourbon This is a little weird, because it's actually smoother than the straight bourbon despite clocking in at 20 proof higher at 118. It's very good though, like damn good. I'd recommend it if you can find it.
  11. If I tried to describe it straightforwardly most people would believe I was making it up. For instance
  12. Stardust Crusaders 30-31 Mariah's Bastet.
  13. Disco Elysium: Final Cut I couldn't stop myself from doing a painful smile and punched a drugged up kid.
  14. Stardust Crusaders 28-29: Anubis POLANAREFFU being the big dumb yet again. I think it's required for stand users to look bizarre, so of course when Chaka transforms into one he is suddenly wearing lipstick and starts doing poses. Overall it's an interesting stand that gets defeated in a way that's absolutely hilarious, which I guess tracks for most of JoJo. Up next is Mariah and Alessi so those episodes will be fun.
  15. In general I agree, a good movie is a good movie regardless of genre. I think my biggest issue with the whole film snob anti-genre attitude is how some of the films they love are equally as ridiculous as some sci-fi schlock or b-movie horror madness. It all seems very arbitrary and lacking self-awareness.
  16. One of the weirdest things about (certain) film snobs is how they'll dismiss genre films out of hand but go nuts for biopics. Are they too dumb or lazy to read a bookWikipedia article and need to have their education fed to them through a movie?
  17. Cowboy Bebop. I don't hate it like some others, but it is very much lesser than the anime. Honestly it would have worked better if they did more adapting and less translating, too many of the frames recreating frames from the anime just look awkward. As a show though, it's not nearly as bad as Wheel of Time.
  18. That's not saying much.
  19. Stardust Crusaders 25-27: N'Doul and the Oingo Boingo Brothers. Okie dokie. Iggy is smarter than Polnareff. The stands get progressively weirder as the series goes on and that's a good thing.
