That's what you get for watching from the couch. MOTOR BOAT IN A BATHTUB. I was going to compare him to Nolan, in that both make big budget blockbusters that aim for being more profound/thought provoking than your average action flick but fail (for me at least) at doing so. Maybe it's the curse of the big budget only producing kid movies and boring action stuff. Arrival and one of his early films are really good though.

I think Dennis Villeneuve's sci-fi movies just aren't that interesting and end up being boring for me. I dunno.

I think the Dune movies should end with the worm-human hybrid god emperor and no explanation at all. Anyways I'm going to read Hero of Two Worlds soon.

JoJo Stardust Crusaders 16 and 17: Steely Dan's The Lovers I think this arc had the notable fact of having the longest beatdown before part 5, and god damn if anyone deserved it more than ol' Steely Dan. 1 minute of One thing that I like about Stands vs Hamon is that the ideas behind STANDO POWAH are way more creative.

Cowboy Bebop. It's not as bad as I thought it'd be, but it just feels...like it's not anything special. The iconic scenes it translated into live action just don't look as good as the anime. And Jet's beard looks terrible lmao.

WhistlePig 10 year Rye Whiskey. I like it. It's very smooth but there is a small burst of heat and an almost grainy issue (though that could be a result of the microgreens I ate).

Komi Can't Communicate with Hououin Kyouma. It was better than last week. I think the show works as something light to watch that I'm not terribly invested in.

If the Republican party collapsed today, it'd be over a decade too late. Unfortunately, I've been hearing pronouncements of the imminent death of the GOP sine at least 2012 and it hasn't stuck. I think those of yall who don't live in a Republican state don't really understand how entrenched they are. The GOP is more like a vampire than the CPSU, rather than collapsing because of contradictions within itself it's only going to be destroyed by figuratively driving a stake through its heart and cutting off the head. The Democrats aren't up to the task of disassembling the monster, even in the face of an attempted coup they are either unwilling or unable, so the Republican party will continue to rise from it's coffin to terrorize the world. If the GOP does collapse in 20 years or so, it's more likely that it happens because climate change has pushed the world into dystopia than because the GOP's bull**** finally having consequences.

This is why I try to not care about adaptations, there is a very good chance they will be massive disappointments and massive disappointment is bad. Between majestic taking weekly psychic damage and you getting a disappointment 25 years in the making, apathy seems vindicated. But watch me come in here tomorrow to rage over Cowboy Bebop lmao. Maybe this is Hurlsnot hating something that is good? Thus proving his taste is an inversion of yours.

I think comparing it to a tuna (salad) sandwich is why it comes up so short. Like you can have the same thing but better and with less effort, why would you do that?

I think most variations of grilled cheese with meat are good, and the Cubano is probably one of the better ones. I'm trying to think of a bottom tier sandwich and the first thing that comes to mind is a tuna melt.

I'd probably rank a hot chicken sandwich over a reuben, but it is definitely in the top tiers of stuff between bread. Anyways I'm going to make some halibut when I get home to eat with some spaghetti squash that got roasted yesterday.
