  1. Stardust Crusaders 32 - 33 Alessi's Set Alessi is probably the biggest creep in Stardust Crusaders, maybe in all of JoJo, both of which are saying a lot.
  2. Still Austin Cask Strength Bourbon This is a little weird, because it's actually smoother than the straight bourbon despite clocking in at 20 proof higher at 118. It's very good though, like damn good. I'd recommend it if you can find it.
  3. If I tried to describe it straightforwardly most people would believe I was making it up. For instance
  4. Stardust Crusaders 30-31 Mariah's Bastet.
  5. Disco Elysium: Final Cut I couldn't stop myself from doing a painful smile and punched a drugged up kid.
  6. Stardust Crusaders 28-29: Anubis POLANAREFFU being the big dumb yet again. I think it's required for stand users to look bizarre, so of course when Chaka transforms into one he is suddenly wearing lipstick and starts doing poses. Overall it's an interesting stand that gets defeated in a way that's absolutely hilarious, which I guess tracks for most of JoJo. Up next is Mariah and Alessi so those episodes will be fun.
  7. In general I agree, a good movie is a good movie regardless of genre. I think my biggest issue with the whole film snob anti-genre attitude is how some of the films they love are equally as ridiculous as some sci-fi schlock or b-movie horror madness. It all seems very arbitrary and lacking self-awareness.
  8. One of the weirdest things about (certain) film snobs is how they'll dismiss genre films out of hand but go nuts for biopics. Are they too dumb or lazy to read a bookWikipedia article and need to have their education fed to them through a movie?
  9. Cowboy Bebop. I don't hate it like some others, but it is very much lesser than the anime. Honestly it would have worked better if they did more adapting and less translating, too many of the frames recreating frames from the anime just look awkward. As a show though, it's not nearly as bad as Wheel of Time.
  10. That's not saying much.
  11. Stardust Crusaders 25-27: N'Doul and the Oingo Boingo Brothers. Okie dokie. Iggy is smarter than Polnareff. The stands get progressively weirder as the series goes on and that's a good thing.
  12. Wheel of Time episode 1. To be more accurate maybe 15 minutes of it because I was busy doing other things. It's corny and feels like a CW show with a bigger budget. I don't see any reason to keep up with it.
  13. I have never seen any Gremlins movie. I guess I should remedy that someday. Alien is much better than Aliens though, I don't see why anyone would argue otherwise. I don't even remember anything about them but I still remember the first Matrix fondly. Maybe they were so bad I forgot them to cope.
  14. So will the rest of us tbh.
  15. But who is the biggest? One prick to rule them all. I vaguely remember that, but it's been almost two decades since I watched it.
  16. That's not true, it's not just this thread! And I am the biggest lmao.
  17. I can't remember The Animatrix enough to have an opinion, I'm using it to prove that more than one Matrix was made. Now the sequel that's rumored to drop in theaters the end of this year is another story.
  18. It's an anthology film, ergo it is another Matrix movie. Don't make me get out Mari or the JoJo tongue gifs.
  19. The Animatrix would like a word.
  20. Komi Can't Communicate And Neither Can Her Father. So we start off going to the pool, which really looks like a waterpark. Maybe this is a cultural thing, but whatever. Tadano, Komi, Najimi, and the dog girl (who has big tiddies, as the show drives home relentlessly) get crashed by Stalker Girl and the gang of Komi-stans. There are changing room scenes, the fellas sans Tadano reveal that they're very horny, and general waterpark/pool stuff. Of course it gets topped off with some minor drama and a sweet resolution that makes it clear Tadanao x Komi is going to happen. Because it already wasn't obvious enough I guess. We then learn that Komi's dad also doesn't talk. Well I guess he's also Komi but I can't remember their names so eh. He takes her to get shaved ice and they bond over brain freeze. Then Komi goes to the library and makes friends with a baby, before going to the park. Tadano is watching her both times. Like the other episodes this is just a very light show with low stakes. I'm not terribly invested in it so that helps with not getting annoyed by some stuff, but the pattern of not caring about most of the supporting characters holds up.
  21. That's my issue and it's a huge one. For all of it's flaws Lynch's Dune was a complete story, while Villeneuve's is such sequel bait that in retrospect the movie feels like a 2.5 hour trailer and info dump. Maybe It will be better when Dune Part 2 drops in two or three years, but right now I'm not too fond of it.
  22. Stone Ocean 3-12. Ok, this is really damn good. It's hilariously JoJo and beautifully over the top.
  23. I think it's just me, most people here seem to have liked Dune. Also I have not read Wheel of Time and think the series looks bad. Guess I'm just a weird guy. Speaking of weird, after digesting it over the week I have to say the Beta Test is my favorite movie of 2021. Which may seem like a backhanded compliment, but it is a genuinely great movie.
