  1. I'd give my right kidney. Edit: Also money. I understand that Obsidian might not be equipped to deal with organ donation.
  2. No, he's roleplaying. LARPing is only differentiated from RPing in that it is Live Action. This is quite simple, when you're playing an RPG you don't say that you're roleplaying Baldur's Gate, you say that you're playing Baldur's Gate. If you're roleplaying a guard in Oblivion, you say that you're roleplaying a guard in Oblivion. Only if you're physically engaging in the activity that you're roleplaying does it ever count as LARPing. Stop doing it wrong.
  3. No, I was implying that for your argument to make sense, the game would have to consist solely of looting. Acting like area looting is going to make or break the game experience for you...
  4. It's not the topic you're discussing, it's the arguments you're making. As quoted.
  5. It doesn't spoil the story, Voss. It spoils the experience. If it's a numbers game from the start, it's a numbers game to the finish.
  6. I forgot that this game is Looting Simulator 2015, and its gameplay consists solely of looting bodies. Do you people have any idea how crazy you sound?
  7. I would simply advise you not to overthink this. Just jump into the game, choose the stats that you think look good, and start playing. Thinking about all kinds of stats and min/maxing stuff just drains the fun out of games. Get an unspoiled first playthrough of the game.
  8. A good thing BG did with music was add ambient sound like wind into it, as well as pauses where little to no sound was actually played. For instance, The Ruins of Ulcaster:
  9. Is the detection range simply a radius? Because, it should really be based on the senses of the creatures. Humans and the like would mostly go by sight, so their detection range would mainly be their FOV, while some other races and creatures would have larger radii due to sense of smell or hearing, or the soul stuff that one of the creatures have in the game right now.
  10. Other: Race and culture should only affect your interaction with the world and other characters. Maybe a minor class neutral skill for races. Some quests would be available or unavailable to certain Races/Cultures. Different quest resolutions would be available or unavailable based on R/C. NPCs of different R/Cs might be positively or negatively affected by your R/C, some merchants may raise their prices or deny you service entirely, while others might give you discounts or give you quests. That kind of stuff. It's obviously way too late for that for this game, but I hope they consider doing that for the sequel, instead of the boring and class-prejudiced stat bonuses currently in place. As much as possible, a player should never choose their race or culture because it has the bonuses that most improve their chosen class.
  11. LOL I know you're just trolling and you never make sense...especially since you post that "no one forces you to pick up or loot items" then carry on about PoE eliminating back and forths and inventory juggling because it added tedium lulz. Take your own advice no one forces you to play inventory tetris or return to town. Weighted inventory system works just fine and is a successful model to follow...certainly didn't hurt D:OS sales. One thing the old games could have done better(and is a much more valid argument) is the number of inventory slots and item stack count. I think weighted inventory with unlimited space works the best. Those two statements of mine aren't even related. And I'm pretty sure D:OS doesn't owe its sales to its weighted inventory system. This is your idea of an argument? Quoting me out of context and calling me a troll?
  12. We're talking BG DnD here. Plenty of dump stats. Min/maxing everywhere.
  13. You don't understand the difference between eliminating any instance of back-and-forth in the game and not keeping an inventory system that adds one instance of back-and-forth?
  14. You thinking that's even remotely comparable just underscored how nonsensical your reasoning is. To repeat myself, nobody's talking about eliminating back-and-forths, I'm talking about not keeping a system that only adds back-and-forths and inventory juggling.
  15. Still abusing terms, Stun?
  16. If you're going to throw the word "logic" around, you should at least try to make sense. Nobody's talking about eliminating back-and-forths, I'm talking about not keeping a system that only adds back-and-forths and inventory juggling.
  17. But the DnD racial bonuses also only come into play when you min/max...
  18. It should be meaningless. Ideally, they should only have affected character and world interactions, maybe some distinct class neutral abilities.
  19. Or just remove the stupid XP rewards that are completely out of place.
  20. You know nobody's forcing you to pick everything up, right? The only thing the PoE loot system does is remove the need for back-and-forths and inventory juggling. There is nothing less "dumb" about the IE inventory system, all it does is add tedium. At no point during any of the IE games did you ever have to make any decisions about equipment other than "should I take the scrap, or leave it?" People keep pretending that the IE equipment system was so complex and layered, but that's just bull****.
  21. I hope they hardcode it so that you can't even mod it out, just as a punishment for the utter ridiculousness of this reaction to area loot.
  22. Hmm, that doesn't make sense either, as I can be engaged by more than two people without being flanked. Maybe I'm misremembering something. Time to test some stuff, I guess.
  23. But my BB Fighter in Defense mode was flanked against only two enemies, one standing behind him. I'm pretty sure flanking is related to the position of the enemy, and not related to any engagement numbers.
  24. Isn't the flanked status related to positioning, though? I've gotten flanked when an enemy is to the side or rear of the enemy I'm attacking, regardless of whether the amount of enemies exceeded my engagement limit.
