  1. That disenchanting mini game was terrible. I remember the first area quite well and found everything else forgettable. The game was good for combat execution screenshots though.
  2. I can't play Rebel Galaxy. Since you can't rescue slaves, only sell them as contraband, the game hits my moral block that prevents me from enjoying it. There is a fan patch by a person like me for people like me. But I can't be bothered to jump through hoops.
  3. Decided to go full fantasy rpg parent and hid half of a "key" among each of my children's belongings. Now I just need to figure out how to re-lock that dungeon.
  4. Yeah, I'll have to clean my air conditioning unit after the fires are put out here as well.
  5. Today I am so bored, I even did (bad) dragon age fan art...
  6. The reality of taking selfies with your vampire friends: What you think the selfie will look like: What the selfie really looks like:
  7. It is strange though that the only way for me to play the game is to roleplay a crazy eyed dunmer refugee from Morrowind, who nearly had her head chopped off for no reason. Who then decided to ingratiate herself with the Jarl of Whiterun because he seemed like an easy mark. Traveled to King Ulfric's court to find some backing in her revenge against those who'd have chopped her head off. Realized she didn't like Ulfric and his Stormcloacks because she got to talk to them. Then stumbled across two homeless orphan girls and decided to butcher scores of bandits for their bounties, to buy a home and get those girls off the street. And because that officially makes her a mum now, she has to make the country a safe place for her children so she makes a list and checks it twice to remove all threats. Dark Brotherhood Serial Killers, Bandits, Skooma Dealers Daedric Cults - Vaermina, Hermaeus Mora, Mehrunes Dagon, Peryite, Namira (working on it) Thalmor (well, their prison and embassy have seen better days) Vampires - actively putting an end to them at the moment Dragons - working on it Civil War - I really don't want to join the legion, though though probably will have to, as I do not see a Stormcloack victory as beneficial to my family. Foresworn
  8. I'm in the Soul Cairn in Skyrim. As Archmage (I needed some influence in the Mage's College in case one of the girls decides to be a mage. How could I know they'd make me Archmage), I wonder if I should put restrictions on Enchantment/Necromancy. We shouldn't do this to souls. I already killed everyone from the Dark Brotherhood and am killing Thalmor to keep my children safe. Guess I will be hunting more actively for Necromancers as well now. Maybe I should also kill every shopkeeper selling Black Soul Gems. They are enabling the practice after all...
  9. We differentiate between truly good and successful. Not necessarily the same. For example many people would argue that 50 Shades of Gray was a very successful book, but not any shade of good.
  10. Everyone in one screenshot.
  11. We now have a dog, Meeko. His owner died of rattles so I brought him home. The girls are super happy. Vix the fox has so far ignored him
  12. I am still playing Skyrim. That is my dullest game I haven't quit. All because I adopted kids... It isn't just dull gameplay wise. It is dull visually, with all those gray mountains and snow.
  13. It isn't as bad as Skyrim mind you. It is a Dwemer City. Oooh, Falmer have broken in through the lower floors. It's another Dwemer City. Wow, Falmer have brokn into this one as well. It is a third Dwemer City, ah here come the Falmer... It's a Nord Tomb. Oh, a hero sacrificed themselves to lock someone truly evil away in here and I have to fight the hero's spirit bound to guarding the tomb to get at the evil spirit and banish it for good. Oh, another Nord Tomb, and ah, there are the heroes that locked away the evil... They came up with two quests and populated a hundred locations with them.
  14. The first area is the best. It starts getting generic stale after that.
  15. Because the US have vilified worker's rights for the better part of a century, and unions are the one thing the federal government will always come down hard on. Isn't it telling that unions have a bad reputation for mob influence over them, while the same control the mob had over police, municipal authorities, the courts, was never addressed in the same way.
  16. Finally remembered to download the most important mod for Skyrim. Almost as important as Silent Bradford and the Bob Ross voice pack for XCOM. No Dragon Attacks.
  17. Very realistic it turns out. Next day the girls brought a pet home. Guess we know what they were buttering me up for
  18. Just quickly darted over to our next door neighbours (the bards college). When I returned Sofie had found and adopted a fox...
  19. Most amazing thing happened today in Skyrim. Lucia helped with chores around the house without having to be told.
  20. It is a lawsuit not filed by an employee though but an agency. So it can;t be shrugged off as a vendetta by a disgruntled former employee.
  21. Skyrim Dawnguard is the storngly story driven part of the game it seems. It doesn't take itself too seriously. Or it gives the impression it doesn't as one of the main NPCs is voiced by Laura Bailey (female boss voice in Saints Row). "Empire? What... what empire?" The Cyrodiil Empire? Duuuh? "Cyrodiil is the seat of an empire? I must have been gone longer than I thought." And of course one liners like "I always wondered what the dwarves actually looked like. I hear they're like elves, but with beards."
  22. They were very cagey about the details. Usually businesses advertise their great daycare options, maternity leave etc. Dark Brotherhood? Nothing.
  23. Dark Brotherhood broke into one of my houses? I broke into one of their Sanctuaries. No-one witnessed their break in. I left no witnesses to mine. I think we are square.
  24. Dark Brotherhood abducted me in the night to initiate me. I gave it some thorough thought. Would joining the Dark Brotherhood benefit my children? Offer them extra protection in their lives? Speaking of children, did the Dark Brotherhood break into the house where my children were sleeping? So I killed the leader of the Dark Brotherhood. Nobody threatens my kids.
  25. I think I am done with Skyrim. The usual Bethesda flaws are becoming too many to allow the game to be fun. I have now resigned myself to just open the console and type kill whenever yet another dragon attacks because of fast traveling. Which means I also do that to most tedious boss fights. Loot is irrelevant and only exists to burden the player in the excessively restrictive encumbrance system, to force you to run back and forth (without fast traveling so as not to spawn a lot of dragons who's bones weigh too much as well). In the end the only loot worth anything is the ridiculous amount of iron ingots you need for house construction, which you get by traveling from vendor to vendor to purchase as they restock (without fast traveling to avoid dragons? 😛 ). That is not a gameplay loop. It is simply wasting players' time hoping they don't realise they aren't playing a game. So console it is and player.additem. If I didn't have the kids, I would have uninstalled already, but as is, I have a responsibility as a parent, so I need to finish purchasing all the houses and building all the houses. Then finish this silly dragon main story, take care of the vampire attacks, and put an end to the war. Because what kind of mum would I be if I left Skyrim like this.
