I remember one of your main gripes about the BH, Gorth, was the lack of choice with your companions. Gault, Skadge. Originally you were supposed to be able to have that freedom. And execute a certain traitor in the SW stroryline. But this would cause balancing issues, so they decided to just force them on you so that you may not get screwed over if you're lacking a dps/heal/tank companion. Sometimes mass murder are actually counterproductive. And why is trying to hide the romance between two jedis "dark side"?

Obsidian did it right with their DLCs. It provided an overreaching plot, but each story was self contained. They just...do it better.

How so? Dragon Age released a full expansion. None of the DLC really impacted the story of the main games. Shale, a character so important to the storyline of Orzamaar that she was featured in later novels. So important that the Dwarf PC of Inquisition has the surname Cadash. Shale was a pre-order DLC character.

Why is it that when I press my secondary weapon button, the ship stops and goes into this first person mode?

I am wondering if this is still true, though. Because I can't remember when I played a game the last time that required a dlc for more information on the main story or something like this. Some games have pre-order dlc which add to the games content, but this is most of the time just minimal stuff that probably could be ignored easily as well. Like the pretty useless armor pre-order dlcs from New Vegas, etc. Exactly. It is true that expansions are nearly dead, but they've been replaced by full length sequels developed as quickly as possible instead. That's what you see happening with Assassin's Creed and Saint's Row games. Most DLC is fluff, and the low prices reflect that. They are for people who like fluff. Mass Effect is literally the only game that put out relevant story DLC's, everything else can be skipped without missing a thing. Also the Xcom EXPANSION is phenomenal. It takes the base game and completely supercharges it. Dragon Derp did it too.
