  1. I've seen that art style in NWN, people using custom portraits. I defiantly like that art style, and I never meant to suggest that if you didn't like his designs than you didn't like dark themed designs in general. I was mostly just speaking to dlux. But anyways, there are 'a lot' of amazing artists out there today. I'd like to see some more concept art from Project Eternity myself, just to get a feel for what's in store for us.
  2. ..... That's your definition of a dark themed portrait? I can defiantly see why you dislike Justin's work. The chances of him being put on the team are very slim at this point. With the kickstarter almost over and a planned 2014 release, they don't have a lot of time. They are most likely already fully staffed now with George and good to go, I would have loved to have had Justin and Vance on the team but it will make no difference in the amount I pledge.
  3. It's probably the least vulgar portrait in the game. Some of the others are absolutely hideous looking: Awful, awful artwork... Loads better than the hideous crap from Justin Sweet that is plastered all over this thread. You just don't like dark themes, that's the only difference. IWD was a very dark game, baldurs gate is a very bright game. Mike Sass did the BG portraits and as you can see they are all 'very' bright, while Justin Sweet's are all very dark. It all depends on the type of game Project Eternity is going to be, if it's a very dark game i'm not going to want bright character portraits that's for sure. But I have a feeling that's it's not going to have that same 'dark' feel that IWD had, which is probably why they only talked about contacting Vance and Justin and never did actually do it.
  4. You're all crazy and arguing over something that wasn't even said or done. The above quote is all that Adam had said, they already have been releasing portraits, so more than likely if they contacted vance and justin it would probably be to do other designs. But, until something actually happens there's no reason for everyone to get their panties in a bunch.
  5. tell ya what since that q&a session the kick starter heated back up, pumping in funds by the hundreds.
  6. I really wanted to ask about the stronghold as well. So many questions.......
  7. There's a lot of people asking questions, probably 400+.
  8. It's going to be horrible once this kickstarter finishes, because then we play the 'waiting' for beta game. Lol, I am not looking forward to being a little kid who's waiting for the candy store to open.
  9. I asked in the live chat for ya, if they post another one of my comments i'll let ya know how they responded.
  10. According to what was said earlier that last day normally drums up around 300k right? So we can expect at least 200k minimum on the final push day. That's fingers crossed.
  11. I'm excited, I really am. Most games have one big city like they said, they don't really spend time really developing two major cities and that'll be something truly remarkable to see. I'm not familiar with the lore yet, so i'm really not sure what the Vailian republic or the pearl coast is. I can find them on the map I'm sure, but as to anything more than that I need to do some reading.
  12. Why the hostility? And again, Obsidian always played with grey charachters. They never had a writing approach of good/evil. Which is why I've always loved their games. And man where were we with the donations? 136,000 at the very least so far today with... well EST time 5 hours till midnight.
  13. More like 50-60k 60k would be paypal backers all together, we were at about 40k before we started today and he said 60k during the podcast so that's 20k for today.
  14. I suspect you miss the point. You don't have to have alignment to play a douchebag. Douchebag is a state of mind, not a tick on a character sheet. xD No I actually don't miss the point at all. All these games that have come out recently force you to either be good or evil, every decision you make moves you a point towards good or a point towards evil. Examples being Dragon Age, Mass effect, my point is that a lot of actions that are taken or that I take having nothing to do with good or evil. They're just simply actions that my character would do, I'm just tired of being pushed in one direction or the other by gaming companies who feel the need to have every little action you take move your alignment.
  15. Does that include pay pal backers of at least 20k?
  16. I love the idea of not having technical terms of good and evil. Not sure if I like it in a fantasy D&D setting, but I am pretty sick of the alignment system and how everything is good or bad. I expect great things from Obsidian and I bet they'll turn this into something truly unique and inspiring.
  17. I look forward to you throwing your mouse at your screen!
  18. I was kind of hoping for 'no' voice acting personally . But I don't mind it.
  19. Miller lite, and that horse is going to keep getting kicked long after death. I don't think we'll ever stop seeing the same questions pop up. On a side note, I can't believe Adam is still awake.
  20. I tossed my hat in the ring as well, maybe if we get enough questions with Justin Sweet they'll ask.
  21. How so? It's no different than people wanting George on the team, there's not just 'one' or there doesn't have to be just 'one' of someone on a team.
  22. we're moving to http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/10/12/project-eternity-obsidian-live-chat/ for the next live chat session.
