Malignant I'm generally not a fan of horror, not straight horror, anyway. There are exceptions, of course, I liked Alien, for example, but it's generally not my genre. Horror comedy, on the other hand, I can get down with. Malignant has been marketed as a straight horror, hence I paid no attention to it. Then the HitB on it came out suggesting it was a horror comedy and it was on HBOMax, which I have, so I gave it a spin. 10/10 Movie of the Year. I'm still not completely sure whether the comedy was intentional, I think it was. I don't think Warner Brothers was in on the joke, I can't fathom how they would have greenlit something this ridiculous had they known what it was. This is either the most misguided attempt to make a horror movie in recent history or the most brilliant troll job in recent history, take your pick. Either way what we are left with is one of the funniest movies I have seen in long time not made by Neil Breen. The best part is that they sort of play it straight for a decent chunk of the film, but then it goes off the rails. I'm not talking simply going off the rails, I'm talking about the train careening off the rails, falling off a giant cliff, crashing into a hospital full of orphaned children, catching the entire building on fire, then exploding in a way that would make Michael Bay jealous. The 3rd act is so unbelievably, wonderfully over the top ridiculous... *chef kiss* Magnifique!

I appreciate how there's a multitude of different ways to approach most situations, that's always been the hallmark of a good RPG in my view.

RIP Norm Macdonald age 61.

Not really. It's multiplayer in the Dark Souls sense where you can invade another player's game and play as Julianna who is trying to stop Colt. The primary loop of the game is playing as Colt figuring out how to kill 8 specific targets before the clock strikes midnight. At midnight the loop resets and everybody except Colt and Julianna repeats their normal patterns. I'm not sure what happens when no one invades your game, whether there is an AI Julianna or no Julianna.

I got a pretty strong Dishonored (2) vibe from the trailer, seems pretty Arkane-y to me.
-
Arkane has a pretty good track record, plus it's a time loop game and time loops are currently my jam. I'll likely get it sooner or later.

He has 16 more games to play, have faith.

Don't overreact to week 1 scores, weird stuff in no way indicative of how teams will perform mid-season always happens in week 1. That said, I'm still going to make fun of the Packers getting obliterated.
-
If Dollar Tree Private Vasquez is even half as badass as Actual Private Vasquez I'll probably like that character.
-
If it makes you feel better, the Packers are mostly regionally villainous, mostly. Muh Boys are nationally villainous and we earned that reputation.
-
Hold on, I'm going to convene with some folks from Minnesota about that statement. I'll get back to you.
-
Par for the course. If we don't shoot ourselves in the foot at least a half dozen times a season, I consider that a miracle and I should consider playing the lottery. And yes, it feels really weird the very few times when muh Boys are the... I can't even say good guys, let's go with less bad guys. Glad to be back to normal next week. I like when our team is the villain, it feels right.

Who owns the Tyranny IP, Obsidian or Paradox? I found Tyranny far more interesting than Pillars. As for the Jedi, if there's one thing Star Wars has taught me it's that the Jedi are idiots.
-
Given muh Boys were playing the champs on the road, I chalked up this one as an L before it even started. We put up a pretty good fight and Dak looked good, so overall I'm fairly happy.

At that point they might as well go to the snow level.

I hope the ridiculous overuse of rapid camera rotation is just in cutscenes. I mean, even just in the cutscenes it would potentially get nauseating, but I can't imagine gameplay with the camera going spastic.

Steam Deck owners will be able to play it.

That I'd actually be interested in. Naturally, Bio will skip JE just to spite me.

I'm assuming Matrix 4 will essentially be a soft reboot of sorts. The first movie was great, but once Neo essentially became a God at the end, they tied their own hands for the sequels. There was never any tension in the sequels for anything happening inside The Matrix because Neo was unstoppable, which forced them to spend a lot of time in Zion, which was boring as ****. If Neo is still all-powerful inside The Matrix in this movie then we're right back to the same conundrum.
