Great points, Justinian! However this one I'm not too sure about. High grasses do this to all height-challenged humanoids, and as for the spacious inn, Obsidian has already said that they have been building deliberately roomy corridors and interiors in order to make better pathfinding and combat and so on. I can't find the link to that statement, though.

See, this is one of the reasons why I'm having trouble containing my excitement! Say what you want about the value of nostalgia, but it totally dictates perception. I just watched this video. Just saw Adam's party get wiped. And while he was fighting, the only thing that was running through my mind was memories of IWD's and BG's tough battles, and all the strategies I used to use to get through the nastier encounters in those games. As it stands, even though I've never played PoE, I STILL immediately saw all the fundamental mistakes Adam was making. He had a party of 5 but never once employed focus fire. His mage had Fireball - AND - the enemy was clustered together at a distance....but he never cast it! He let his party get surrounded, over and over. I did not see his rogue use a single activated rogue skill. Nor his fighter using the knockdown ability. These are the same kinds of mistakes that will cause total party wipes in the IE games. God Damn, I can't wait to get my hands on the beta! And after I play it a few dozen times, I will PROVE it can be soloed on any difficulty. Now this is dedication! You can pave the way for others that wish to try this daunting task out!

Let's look it up in a dictionary. Here it is: It's caring in a raw and intrepid state.

No way. Big boobs are earners man, apparently men tip 30% more and women tip 40% more if a waitress in the service industry has large breasts. Imagine the extra gold you'd get from quest rewards! Oh! Now I know why Obsidian had pigs being stolen by an ogre. Sows are huge, fat, and well, they have teats, lots of them: Average pigs have 10 to 12 teats, some as few as 8 teats. Good breeder pigs have 14 teats. Superior breeder pigs have 16 teats.

Yeah. "Theme park ride"-games. Nice label! I'm sick of them - the latest graphics, lots of sounds and sceneries, but where is the gameplay? -

Although I haven't got the time to play CRPGs like I used to, I must say I almost sadistically like the idea of getting my ass handed to me by a bunch of beetles on Easy, since it shows that the combat is demanding and challenging, and that I need to delve into the system before I see results, a bit like COH - it takes quite a while before you get the hang of it. I really like that. -

I just want more game "feedback," where I can tell exactly what's going on just by watching and looking. I don't have that feeling, and for feeble-minded, unwelcome kiddies like myself, that's not a good thing. Don't get me wrong, i'm incredibly excited for this game (it's 4:30 am and i stayed up to watch a 15 minute live stream), but i very strongly believe a bit more glamour and flair would go a long way towards player satisfaction for the uninitiated among us. How having a little more particle effects and graphical quality somehow makes the experience LESS quality for you, I wouldn't quite get. I love your enthusiasm, Pray! And don't you ever define yourself as "feeble-minded" and "unwelcome". Actually, I think I can promise you, right off the bat, that it will indeed be more glamorous and flair-y than what you've seen here, and I know you will get used to recognizing all of your pcs as individual characters soon enough. -
Sensuki: Fun fact - That plate Kaz has drawn on that woman with a ponytail is actually 100% male, taken from plates worn more or less exclusive by male individuals in medieval Europe. Interestingly, several of the clothes worn my men in those days would be considered effeminate and queer today. Also, for a Godlike like in that image you showed us with a burning head, define "feminine". We don't know much about their sociocultural setting at all.

Pray: I understand what you're getting at, but for those of us with a PnP and IE games background, this is in a weird way immersive, cosy and exciting, all rolled up into one drool-fest!- 269 replies

Well Sensuki the forums really did beg for realistic armor over, and over, and over, and over, and over...... A woman in realistic plate armor isn't going to be showing a lot of boob . Haha! Yeah, not even a one-tonne piano dropped from 100 feet would make those poor boobs jut out through the plate mail.

I really liked the "Citadel figurines throwing spells and punches at each other"-feel. It's very much in line with the classic IE games. In D:OS, the animations in their turn-based combat is over the top and slightly weird, as a comparison, a bit like in Fallen Enchantress at times. If I need more animation, action and screen shaking, I'll just fire up Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls. Also, those armours should stay that way - down and dirty, and more realistic than most games of this kind.
