  1. This is bloody grate...
  2. Alright, this is everything I want in a RPG, but since it wasn't an option I voted for WoD and PoE2. Space Pirates. It's got to have Space Pirates. With squid-like aliens and telepathic dolphins.
  3. Congratulations on the release! The new abilities look good, especially the deity-specific symbols. I'm not sure I'd want to use that Tornado ability though. It looks too chaotic and unpredictable.
  4. Balanced on a razor's edge between unconstrained sexual perversions and liberal socialist-mandated thought control?
  5. Seem to recall reading elsewhere that PST and IWDII would be bigger undertakings than BG 1/2 and IWD and so would require more work to convert. Which I guess would be why Seige was more appealing as an option in terms of resource investment and return? At least IWD2 would get them up to D&D v3 and provide a skill system. AD&D is just archaic and cumbersome.
  6. Or at least one optimized for jiggle physics. AmIrite?
  7. The first think I thought when I saw that headline was... bird strike! Man, that jet must have been flying ultra-NOE.
  8. This Football Helmet Crumples -- and that's Good. It's an interesting development for those in the U.S. concerned about CTE.
  9. If nothing else, the addition probably gives BeamDog instant credibility for producing new titles, rather than rehashing the old.
  10. So... does this mean that Minsc will be officially turning gay?
  11. It's also the BSA doing the study. There's literally no chance of them saying that piracy is in any way OK, even if it were. The only difference between them and pirates doing a study is that the pirates will do it for free while the MBAs will hire a seven figure consultant to tell them what they want to hear. To lend credence to your argument, can you produce a valid study demonstrating the opposite is true? I don't need to, as it isn't really an argument, just an observation. The BSA is the Business Software Alliance, they have as much chance of saying that piracy isn't evil, wrong and thoroughly naughty as British American Tobacco would have of saying that smoking should be banned or as the US or Russian militaries would have of saying that they deliberately target civilians and laugh as they do it. They aren't going to say things that go against their interests, whatever the truth is. Yes, obviously, but that doesn't gainsay their results. I do see a lot of self-serving arguments coming from the pro-piracy factions as well, with no documented studies that credibly back up their assertions. If there were any validity to the pro-piracy position, you'd think it could be demonstrated in a logical manner through peer-reviewed studies.
  12. Kids who played shoot-em-up games in the '90s were probably (mostly) OK.

  14. Here's a study on the topic: The Economic Benefits of Reducing Software Piracy. Their conclusion is that a reduction is good for the economy (as are other reductions in theft, per your basic Economics 200 course).
