  1. We had a local windstorm here and lost the power a couple of times. There's nothing quite like a power outage to make you realize how dependent you've become on electricity. There was nothing to do but read a book and take a walk.
  2. Doesn't just about every modern video RPG start out with the party as either a prisoner or an amnesia victim? Sometimes both. It's got to be the most overused trope.
  3. Do Trumpies not understand humor? Just asking for a friend. 😛
  4. Second season of Warrior has begun on Cinemax. I'm looking forward to it.
  5. I have this alternate hypothesis that a sufficiently advanced civilization would know how to stir the helium ashes at the stellar core and extend the lifespan of their star by many billions of years. I've tried to conjecture how they might do it, and I suspect it would involve using enormous magnetic fields to generate a deep and powerful vortex at the stellar poles. Perhaps one day we'll spot some alien civilization manipulating their star in this way.
  6. A head scratcher...

  8. I think they have the Biden/Trump assignees backwards... but close enough.
  9. Pain relief caused by SARS-CoV-2 infection may help explain COVID-19 spread Huh, how devious.
