  1. Well, the term barbarian implies the human being in question is uncivilized or primitive, and was how the Greeks designated people of non-Greek culture (who they largely saw as inferior, culturally at least). It doesn't necessarily mean barbarians are stupid but it sort of came to existence as a derogatory term that implied them being all of this. in ancient greece it was more of a lingustic term than something to do with culture. barbarian (or varvaros as is pronounced in greek) literally means "he who's speech is made of var" with "var" being a sort of slang for incoherent/unstructured speech. most languages are build on the mutual agreement that "something" should be called "something" but greek was different; the words were in and of themselves both a description of that "something" and a mathematical representation of it. considering how much thought they would put into every word they created for everything around them, they considered languages that were based on simply agreeing that "this sound should represent this something" inferior.
  2. this reminds me of a time when a dog was barking at me from a distance and when i got close, it stopped, went behind a fence then started barking again
  3. i'm not an atheist but if god exists, this picture shows exactly what i believe he does all day
  4. one thing that i know is "when you fight a monster for too long, you eventually become that monster yourself". all groups that call themselves anti-"something", use all the morally questionable methods of that "something" to push for their own social and political dominance instead of the protection of society from whatever evils that "something" allegedly brings. just because they use the "anti" they feel they have the absolute moral high ground and are entitled to the use of any method to win, even if that method is illegal or outright evil. today's Antifa are just as fascist or even more so than the fascists they're supposed to oppose. they are simply glorified extremists on the other side of the road from the vilified extremists but extremism by nature is the same regardless of side and uses the same socially harmful methods to prevail. extremism under any circumstances is never a healthy thing for any person, group or society.
  5. i'd say they should just follow the first game's approach on this: no romance whatsoever. if there are no options in the game to act upon your sexual orientation, you can assign whatever letter of the alphabet you want to the gender.
  6. mouse with a keypad? what sorcery is this?
  7. speaking of mice, i often hear people bashing on Trust as a cheap, low quality manufacturer of peripherals but the best mouse i ever had was a Trust that i bought for 30 euros back in 2005 and it worked fine until 2012. a very sturdy thing with loads of programmable buttons and a very well made interface for making the buttons do literally everything i wanted: set a button as a particular key, set it as press once and it stays pressed until pressed again, set it as a macro to auto press itself at set intervals, set it as a macro to activate a series of keyboard keys in a sequence and so on... and it also had an internal memory that stored 3 profiles in the mouse itself to be switched at will with the press of a button. when the wheel of that mouse stopped working in 2012 i tried desperately to find another of the same model but there were none. in 2013 i decided to give up and look for another mouse, so i got a Sharkoon that barely lasted 2 years before the cheap plastic axis of the mouse wheel broke (the trust mouse had a metal axis on the wheel). now i have another cheap mouse that is a bit sturdier but it too started showing signs of losing functions in a mere 2 years of use.
